@AFTER 2 MONTHS
@BALCONY OF O & S HOUSE
Saumya: So what are your plans now Rudra.
Rudra: Saumya I am taking the scholarship of London.
Saumya sadly: Why?
Rudra: So that in future nobody says that your husband is useless.
Rudra nods and smiles sheepishly: So you agree.
And then finally Rudra’s words register in her mind and she looks at him shockingly while he leaves smiling at her. Saumya cover her face in shyness.
@ 18 YEARS LATER
The day glows with sun shining near the horizon, the breeze blowing swiftly and dancing along the rays of sun. Birds chirping and calling their loved ones. The entire atmosphere filled with the melodious songs sung by birds.
The sun brightens a beautiful mansion the words imprinted on them
“O S M HOUSE”.
Yes they earned their name and fame back but with their hard work taking along with them that every single person who supported them in their tough time. First they built a building having flats for everyone from the Chawl in which they once lived with the help of government.
The camera focuses at a dimly lit rom sunshine touches a calm, composed and beautiful face.
“Next what happened mumma” the girl voices her words.
“Take some rest Baccha you have a long day to go.” Replied her mother.
“No mumma I really want to know what happened with that Khorana and Kuber.”
“They lost the battle that day itself Kastuki.” Said the ever so calm yet impactful voice of her father.
“Still they should have been punished”. Came the enraged words of Kastuki.
“Sometimes life is the biggest punishment. But yes they went to jail but that never matters to me.”
“You can’t be that kind to those demons Ishi ma.” The girl retaliated the thought.
“Almost burning him wasn’t kindness Baccha.”
ShivIka, IshKara and RuMaya were narrating their life story to their lovely daughter Kastuki (Shivaay & Anika’s daughter), this curious head couldn’t afford to sleep till the story reaches the climax.
Kastuki: Will change ever come or this will continue.
Anika: Change… Umm… Change is the law of nature and till hope is there one day change may come.
Kastuki: But how?
Saumya: Same question and answer, you know it well Kastu.
Kastuki: But Meher mom doesn’t miss her dad, does she really hates him.
Shivaay: Do you think your buddy hates Kuber uncle.
Kastu nods in no: No I have seen him missing his father many times.
Shivaay: Right no matter it’s a girl or a boy every child loves their parent equally we can never hate them but at times it’s hard to forgive them too.
Kastuki: One more thing.
Rudra: Do it fast Kastu I am feeling sleepy you have made us sit on strike since night.
Kastu: Rudy pa please. Has India changed over years.
Om: You will know that soon. Now off to your bed.
Kastuki nods as the clock strike 5 in the morning she retires to bed unwillingly the sleep was miles away and her mind completely engrossed in the thoughts of the story she just herd. Soon sleep overtakes her.
Kastuki: “INDEPENDENCE DAY” the name itself gives us a reason to celebrate but do we really deserve it. I am proud to be an Indian, yes we all are. But is my nation proud to have me is the most unexpected and unasked question. Waking up every morning and reading the news of a drowning India and reprimanding and cursing the government is the most easiest and time saving job. “CHANGE” is one thing which all of us want but the effort required in bringing it is the end of our thought process only.
INDIAN ARMY when ever the name or word comes on our lips our head automatically rises with pride. No person ever dear say a word against them. The only reason is how much ever corrupt our country be but we have blind faith over them because they have earned it through their unstoppable struggle and never ending love for their nation. They truly define the word eternal love the love for their nation is the most supreme one.
Why only it’s them that make the independence day worth. Reason we all know but always fail to acknowledge it. Yes, one day things will change that’s the faith of every Indian I too hope the same. When the tricolour will be proud of us. The change will come the day when we INDIANS NOT ONLY ACKNOWLEDGED OUR RIGHTS BUT ALSO OUR DUTIES TOWARDS OUR NATION. We have zero potential to pay back to the BRAVE HEARTS still as a token of thanks to the INDIAN SOLDIERS we should ensure them that if they protect our country at the border we will secure their nation from inside. No army officer every even thinks that the ammunitions that he holds for his country one day he will use them against his own nation men but we force them when we open up for inter community riots. The army officers protect us without even knowing us, they consider every Indian girl as their sister and every Indian boy as their brother then why many fail to protect their sisters. If not for anyone let’s do it for OUR ARMY, OUR NAVY AND OUR AIR FORCE LET’S STAND UP TO PROTECT OUR NATION WHEN THEY DO THE SAME AT BORDER. LET’S BE SELFLESS AS THEM.
May no child in this nation ever yearn for a change and when OUR ARMY HEARS ABOUT THE CIVILIANS THEN THEY COULD ALSO RAISE THEIR HEAD WITH SAME PRIDE AND ENTHUSIASM THAT WE CIVILIANS DO ON HEARING THEIR NAME.
The entire auditorium echoes with the sound of claps that’s what Kastuki learnt when she questioned her family last night “ARE WE REALLY INDEPENDENT?” Positivity is the only view that can bring change.
Principle: I am honoured to see the change in our youth maybe through you Kastuki it’s a pleasure to know that our youth is changing after all the future responsibility of our nation is on young people only.
As you all know that on INDEPENDENCE DAY our school SALUTES THE BRAVE HEARTS and one student from our school accompanies that INDIAN SOLDIER for the flag raising ceremony so this year Lt. Col. S. K. Khanna himself choose the student and that student who has started the air of new thoughts and will accompany him is Kastuki.
They perform the flag raising ceremony and after that the NATIONAL ANTHEM is played.
@O S M HOUSE
Onar (IshKara’s son): Congratulations di.
Kastuki: Thank you Onar.
Shivaay: So what do you want today Kastu it’s your day.
Kastuki: Noting papa.
Riya (PriAn’s daughter): Come on ask for what you want Kastu today you have full opportunity to make bade mamu bankrupt.
Kabeer (MehBeer’s son): Oh bhootni you won’t get such opportunity daily.
Kastuki: Fine. Papa (all look at her) can I volunteer with dadi ma’s and nani ma for their next women empowerment campaign.
She says crossing her fingers and closing her eyes and piercing her lips, as kids weren’t allowed to go there as they were too young but for now as she knows somewhat she wants to know more and help.
Karan cares her hair: Sure Baccha.
She looks at the rest and they nod then she hugs them speaking “Thank you” continuously.
Ruhanika (RuMaya’s daughter): Now can we have food I am dead hungry.
ShivOmRu, AniIshSoums, MehBeer, PriAn, Kabeer, Riya, Kastuki, Onar, Ansh (ShuvIka’s son), Omasvi (IshKara’s daughter) and Ruhi all get in to prepare lunch.
Omasvi: What are we going to make today bade papa.
Shivaay: Something Indian. You all suggest what.
Ansh: Aloo Puri dad.
Anika: Aare waah mera sher. (WOW my dear son.)
Kastuki: This will go for me too.
All: Me too.
Shivaay: Aacha hai kaam kam karna padega.
(Good I will have to work less.)
Abeer: Not fair Shivaay you are becoming lazy day by day.
Kabeer: It’s all because of Kastuki’s company.
Kastuki hits a tomato on him: Shut up Jr. Bandar.
Anika: Hai bhagwaan Kastu tune tamatar phainka pata hai kitna lehanga hai.
(Oh god! Kastu you threw a tomato do you even know how expensive it is.)
Kastuki: Okay sorry.
Then she picks up a carrot.
Riya: 40 ₹/Kg no… No…
She then points towards capsicum.
Omasvi: No… No…. Di 45₹/kg no no.
Kastuki then points at onion.
Onar: No… No… No… 30₹/kg.
Kastuki: Oye fir sasta kya hai.
(Oh then what’s not expensive.)
Kabeer: You can try coriander it’s free.
Anika: Han sabzi ke saath muft milta hai. Par khabardar Jo tune dhaniya uthaya sare sabzi me se isse hi toh khane ka maza hai.
(Ya it is free with vegetables but don’t you dear touch it. It’s the best vegetable of all.)
Onar: Par kun badi ma.
(Why badi mom?)
Anika: Aare muft ki chiz khane ka Jo maza hai na Vo aur kisu chiz me nahi hai.
(Because having something free of cost is best.)
Shivaay under his breath: Nothing can happen of this girl.
Kastuki: Then you only tell what shall I throw at him.
Anika: Use my champakali it’s brand new.
Kastuki: Good idea.
She takes the sandal and aims it at Kabeer it hits him but with that his hand goes in flour which flies to Shivaay’s face everybody covers their face.
Everybody close their ears.
Ruhi: Aap safed bhoot lag rahe ho bade papa. Yeh caroot laga lo perfect logo ge.
(You are looking like a white ghost bade papa. Put this carrot also for giving finishing touch.)
Shivaay gives her “nothing can happen of you” look to her.
Shivaay: Now somebody helps me with this.
Anika moves towards him to help put as her own sandal was thrown on the floor she too falls on the flour and her face gets white everybody bursts into fits of laughter. Which enrages her and she throws flour on them.
Ishu: What the hell di?
Ishu throws tomato at her which bursts open on her face giving her white and red make up.
Anika: Ishu ki bacchi.
Saying so Anika throws lemon on her which falls on Meher.
Maher: What’s this Ani?
Anika: Sorry Meher Bhabhi it was a miss throw.
Meher nods and moves forward but trips and falls on floor with Abeer and due to the push one by one everybody falls on floor accompanied by vegetables on head, nose and other suitable places.
Rudra: Aare get up from me because of your weight my muscles will get injured.
He says dramatically although above him was a five years girl which is none other then his own daughter.
Kabeer: Stop your nautanki bro and get up you are above me.
Om: Oh melodrama kings all of you get up one by one.
All get up and while getting up Prinku’s head huts the slap.
Prinku: O My Mata…
Riya: Mom what’s with your language.
Prinku: Chup kar kabhi toh thang ki baat Kkiya kar tun.
(Keep quite at least once say something worthwhile.)
Riya makes an innocent face.
Ishu: Aab bana lo Aloo Puri.
(Now make Aloo Puri.)
Shivaay: Shall I fry you all in the karahi now.
There is no more flour.
Anika: Why billu ji you always have stock in your kitchen.
Shivaay joining hands in front of her: Maaf kar de mujhe meri ma Galati Ho gayi dunaar nahi hogi.
(Forgive me for once I won’t repeat this again.)
Ansh dramatically: Stop papa ek aadmi ka sar sirf teen zaghaan par jhukna chaihye ek Vo ma Jo sabhi ma hai, ek apni ma aur ek Bharat ma.
(Stop papa in life you should bow only in front of three mothers, one god who is everyone’s mother, other your own mother and third Mother India.)
Riya hiring his head: Kun Bharat ma sabki ma nahi bai kya.
(Why isn’t Mother India everyone’s mother.)
Ansh: Ha Vo bhi ha bas effect ke liye bol diya.
(Oh that was just for effect.)
Karan: Oye nautanki ki aulaad chup kar tun thodi der.
(Hye you son of drama keep quiet.)
Shivaay: Karan Bhaiya ma nautanki nahi hun yaar.
(Bro I am not a drama king.)
Karan: Meri bhen toh hai na.
(At least my sister is.)
Shivaay nods while Anika glares the duo.
Abeer keeping his hand on shoulder: Beta tun 8 saal ka chuza hai tujhe abhi biwi ke baare me kuch nahi pata. Agar admi ma ke age na jhuke toh ma maaf kar degi par biwi Vo nahi chodegi. Keema bana degi tera.
(Dear son you are really young to understand this. If you don’t bow in front of your mother she will forgive you but if by any chance you don’t bow in front of your wife she won’t spear you.)
Meher: Aacha toh ek kaam karna Abeer aaj raat ko tum na balcony me hi sona.
(Great then. Do one thing Abeer tonight you shift your bedroom in balcony only.)
Abeer makes puppy apologetic face.
Abeer: Please Meher.
Shivaay: Damn somebody tell me the meaning of GTH.
Kastuki being shocked: You don’t know meaning of GTH till date papa?
Anika: Ya because he is HDFC.
Shivaay: Now what’s HDFC.
Kastuki: Go to hell.
Omasvi: Half dumb gull crack.
Shivaay shocked: Don’t you both have manners you are talking to me like that.
Both the girls pat their head.
Kastuki: Papa we are just telling the full forms of GTH and HDFC.
Shivaay’s eyes become wide and he stares Anika who makes a cute shy face.
