Actress Niyati Fatnani, who is known for essaying the role of Piya Rathod in Nazar, is all set for her upcoming show Channa Mereya. The actress is currently shooting in Amritsar for the same.
Niyati talked about her role during a recent interview and shared, “I play a Sikh girl, Ginni, who hails from Amritsar and runs a dhaba. Ginni lost her father at a very young age, so she takes up the responsibility of her family after her father’s demise.”
Talking about the experience of shooting in Amritsar, the actress said, “Amritsar is a beautiful city. It is full of life. However, the weather here is so hot that it becomes difficult to shoot sometimes. We keep ourselves hydrated by drinking coconut water and lime juice… that’s one way of beating the heat. It’s difficult to shoot but I am really enjoying the shooting here. I am not that much a foodie, but I must say that Amritsar is the best place for Punjabi food. I enjoyed eating Amritsari Kulchas and I am going to miss eating this food when I go back to Mumbai. I also explored various dhabas in Amritsar.”
She added, “This show is going to present me in a completely different avatar and I’m speaking a language which is different from the usual, so it’s a learning experience for me as an actor. I am happy that I am coming up with something fresh on-screen. I can’t wait for the reaction of the audience.”
