Jasmin Bhasin talks about her plans for Baisakhi; says, “I celebrate Baisakhi with bright colors”
Jasmin Bhasin who rose to fame with her stint in Bigg Boss 15 is all set to participate in cooking traditional fare on Baisakhi at her home.
The actress talked about it in a recent interview and shared, “We will be preparing special meals today,” she says, adding, “Traditional Punjabi dishes including chhole bhature, makki ki roti with sarson ka saag, peele chawal, sweet lassi, jaggery halwa and kadhi pakora with rice along with kheer, coconut laddoos and phirni…will be made at home.”
A visit to the gurdwara is a must on the day. “Praying at the gurdwara gives me plenty of peace and space, it’s almost like a place of meditation. I love to do sewa in gurdwara and partake in the langar,” she added.
Elaborating on the importance of Baisakhi, Jasmin said, “It is the Sikh New Year celebration and the spring harvest festival, during which Sikhs celebrate the wealth of crops and offer prayers for everlasting happiness. While I have seen Punjabis go all out in congregations, langars, processions, and prayers, I have also seen many Sikhs worldwide host grand festivities, and it is heartwarming.”
“Everyone wears new clothes on Baisakhi, and I too celebrate with bright colors, typically in red, yellow, and orange. I like to bring up some orange rugs in the passageway, hang some yellow curtains, or spread some bright red cushions on the couch,” she concluded.
