Actor Gashmeer Mahajani, who rose to fame with his stint in Imlie calls dancing his first love. The actor is currently judging a dance reality show and will soon be seen in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 10.
Gashmeer talked about being a judge on Dance Maharashtra Dance during an interview with BT and shared, “I am a judge on a kids’ reality show Dance Maharashtra Dance. The first episode was fabulous. I had a great time with the kids. It is for the first time that I am judging a dance reality show that too of kids. I tend to bond with kids quite organically. I have a boy of my own. Doing a reality show with kids is like living your childhood all over again. A lot of childlike qualities of mine have come on camera which I didn’t know would happen when I said yes to it.”
He added, “There will be eliminations and evictions on my show, but I have specifically made sure that kids will not be standing in a queue to know whether they have been selected or rejected. Every kid who is not selected is told that he or she will be given homework and join us next season. We tell them your time is yet to come.”
Talking about the upcoming season of the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Gashmeer said, “It is going to be so different even for the audience as on two days they will see me as a judge and on the other two days, they will see me being judged. There will be a complete role reversal and will be complete fun. I didn’t plan it like that but just that it came my way and so I said yes. I am doing a show like Jhalak because it is related to my area of work being an actor. This reality show is going to help me at work. Even though I have been a choreographer all my life, for the past seven years I have been working as an actor, mostly. Every character I had played had not been a dancer. I couldn’t practice as I was a full-time actor. I will get back to my professional dancing with Jhalak. I remember the first day of rehearsal with my choreographer, I could feel the muscles that were dormant for past so many years. I want to get into the zone of dancing I was in when I was 21. Plus the best part about working on a reality show like this is that I can do so many other things along with it.”
