VANSH’S POV

”What?” I asked, truly and utterly astounded.
”You heard me. It’s makes perfect sense!” she said, like what she was saying wasn’t completely bonkers.
“I can’t do that to my family. Even if we did that, we’ll have to tell them at some point. What then?” I asked.
“We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. I don’t know about you but I am completely ready to get them out of my hair,” she said.
To be honest, that did sound good. I really wanted my family to stop badgering me about marriage.

“I-I’ll think about it,” I concede.
”Call me when you make a decision,” she smiled, and for a moment all I could think about was how beautiful she was.

“Do you want me to drop you home?” I asked.

“Yes, please,” she said.

She sat behind me on the bike and gripped my waist. Oh lord. How was I supposed to focus on driving this vehicle when she was this close to me? I could smell her vanilla perfume, for heaven’s sake!

“Something wrong?” she asked and I realised that I was just sitting there like a moron instead of starting the bike.

“N-no, I’m fine,” I muttered.

Needless to say, it was a very long ride.

“Bhai’s back!” Ishani screamed as soon as I entered the house.

“How did it go? Did you like her? Did she like you? Should we talk to her family?” Suddenly Ma was there, bombarding me with questions.

“Calm down, Ma,” I tried to appear cool but inwardly I was panicking about what to tell her. “I’ve only met her once. These things take time.”

Ma smiled and I was hit by a pang of guilt. She genuinely wanted me to find my significant other and I was considering lying to her.

“I know it will work out! I’ve prayed to all the gods. You just wait and see,” she said and I wondered where she got all her enthusiasm from.

“She’s not lying. I know because she forced me do it too,” Ishani complained.

That night I was unable to sleep, and as I twisted and turned the thousandth time, it hit me. I could have the best of both worlds.

All I had to do was agree to ”fake date” Riddhima but actually make her fall in love with me. That way, both her and my family would be happy and I wouldn’t have to worry about this. I smiled in pure relief.

Mission #SeduceRiddhima, here I come.
