Yeh Rishtey Hai Pyaar Ke – 3 Shots

Mishti was tensed and nervous. Tomorrow was the day, she had to tell her decision tomorrow. The courtship days had finally come to an end and tomorrow was the decision day. Kunal was a very good guy but she could not develop that romantic feelings for him. They have become good friends over the time but still her feelings for him was simply platonic.

She paced her room in confusion and suddenly her eyes got fixed on the red balloons which abir had got her yesterday. She felt her heart fluttering as she remembered him. Abir had always kept seemed like a mystery who attracted her, amused her everytime with his gesture and He had suddenly become the person whom she relied upon, whom she had started to admire, who would hear her out whenever she wanted to. She felt so comfortable with him. It felt so easy to open up to him.

She remembered when she had phoned her bff to tell the matter and he had clearly stated that she likes abir and even adviced her to confess her feelings to him. She had brushed off the whole thing but still she could not take him off her thoughts. After trying to ignore her feelings for a while and having sleepless nights she finally accepted that she liked abir. But How could she go and confess to abir that she liked him when her family wanted her to marry kunal. It would make everything complicated and she did not want any misunderstanding.

Her phone rang and she picked up seeing kunal’s name flashing on it. Why was he calling her now?

” hi kunal ” she greeted him after receiving his call.

“mishti actually I wanted to tell this from a long time but could not. Don’t take me wrong but I’m sorry I don’t like you and I can’t marry you I’m really sorry ” kunal’s words surprisingly relieved her.

” kunal actually the feeling are mutual” mishti replied and could hear him sigh. She thought for a while to confess to kunal about her liking his brother, maybe he could help.

” actually I like kuhu ”

” I like abir ” both kunal and mishti revealed the truth to each other at the same time leaving each other stunned.

” what!? ” both shrieked back.

kuku laid on her mother’s lap and seeking sleep but it never came. She was anxious, afraid about tomorrow. Mishti was going to tell yes to the alliance putting a official seal to it. Her heart ached at the thought. Why did mishti ask for courtship, it would be rather so easy if mishti had accepted the alliance the first day itself. In that way, she could have not met kunal more often when accompanying mishti in her courtship days and known him better. Her heart could have not grown fonder of his presence. Everything could have been easier. Damn why? Why does she carve for something which can’t be hers.

Abir tossed and turned, desolately seeking sleep. Tomorrow his nanko’s relationship is getting official inspite of all the games his mother played. He should have been flaunting his victory in front of his mother but right now more than his victory he was sulking over the fact that his nanko is going to marry his chorni, the girl whom he has started liking. He had started liking mishti, he had started liking the way she argued with him ,the way she had held herself strong despite of everything she had experienced in her life. He loved the fact that he was the first whom she would seek solace whenever she was upset. He used to deliberately accompany kunal whenever he goes to meet mishti hoping to steal some moments with her. What was wrong with him? How can he like the girl who was going to get hitched to his own brother? It felt so wrong but so right why?

Kunal could not sleep. He was anxious about tomorrow. He had to tell a decision for his mother’s sake but would he able to lie to himself and say yes to the alliance where there will be never be love? His one refusal and admission of the truth can change everything but what if his mother could be left disappointed and upset with him.

” we often take the things which happened in the past so seriously. After some three or four years we remember the same things and think why did we take such a trivial matter so seriously haina na ” kuku’s words flashed to him.

Kunal knew what to do next.
