Without You- Episode 2 {After 16 years}

Set in the city of Mumbai, a big mansion is shown. A young man of 28 is shown following his daily routine. After doing his gym, he goes and drinks his protein shake. Then, he makes a coffee, puts it in a tray and goes upstairs to give it to Akshara. Yes, you guessed it right! This young man is none other than Vedansh, Akshara’s foster brother.

Meanwhile, Akshara, who is in deep slumber, is seeing a tragic dream…

Akshara: (in the dream) No….. Mumma Paapa…. Bhaiya…. (blurred visions and muffled voices) Bachao…. aha…. (gets up panting) Oh… it’s a dream… phew… (breathes heavily) Oh my god… I’m sweating…. (Just then alarm goes off) Oh… I don’t even need this… Since 16 years, I am getting the same tragic dream which leaves me traumatised every time I see it… Why god? Why don’t you let me live in peace? Please, either let me forget it or let me know who my real family is..! (cries) (hears foot steps) Oh no bhaiya!!!! (wipes her tears)

Ved enters the room and turns on the light….

Ved: Akshu! Wake up! (He takes off the blanket to see pillows there) (worried) Akshu! Akshu!

Just then, Akshara playfully covers his eyes…

Ved: Akshu! What’s this mischief?

Akshara: (laughing) If not with you… then with whom will I do mischief bhaiya… (hugs him)

Ved: Akshu…(caresses her hair) Acha! Here’s your coffee…. and get ready! You know what’s today right!

Akshara: Yes bhaiya! Today, there is an award function in which you are nominated as ‘ The businessman of the year’…. And they are going to announce it on the spot…. Though they didn’t reveal it, I know that it’s yours…. So, how can I miss such a special event??

Ved: I’m glad that you are coming….

Akshara: Haa bhaiya! But first, go get ready…. Go go….

Ved: Acha baba! I’ll go…. (They go to their respective rooms)

As Akshara gets ready, she gets a call…. She gets worried as she listens [Screen freezes]

Vedansh gets readyin his tux, looking drop dead gorgeous. He comes to the living room and calls out for Akshara…

Ved: (playfully) Oh hello! Dr. Akshara Raichand! Aren’t you ready? It’s too bad for a doctor to be late…

He turns to see Akshara and gets shocked to see her in her casual outfit with her stethoscope and her coat in her hands…

Ved: (confused)Akshu! I was joking… I didn’t expect you to come in your whitecoat to my award function….

Akshara: (nervously) Bhaiya! I’m going to the hospital…

Ved: What! Akshu! Don’t joke… (seeing her expression) You are not! Right? But this morning you told you are going to come…

Akshara: Yes bhaiya! But I’ve got an urgent call from the hospital… It’s an emergency….

Ved: But Akshu… You are a psychiatrist… not a surgeon… then you can postpone right? (upset)

Akshara: Bhaiya! If I could have postponed it, I would have…. and I know that a psychiatrist has no emergencies but the kind of people we deal with have their issues mentally…. And if they are not handled on time with care, they can become much more complicated than a surgery..! But bhaiya! You’ve always supported me… why not now?

Ved: (realising what he just said) I’m sorry Akshu! I just got carried away… (sits on the sofa) It’s just….. It’s my first success and I wanted you to be with me on such an occasion… because…. I don’t have anybody except you in this world… (gets teary-eyed)

Akshara: (sitting beside him) I know bhaiya! (teary eyed) But I promise…. It’ll not take much time… Just an hour… And also, your award ceremony starts in 2 hours right? You go and give your interviews…. I’ll be there in no time…. Ok? Now smile…. (messes up his hair)

Ved: Not my hair Akshu!!! (sets his hair)

Just then they see Prem singh coming there smiling….

Prem: Oh what a scene! ‘The’ Vedansh Raichand! One of India’s most successful young businessman, being teased by his sister… Oh god! You made  my day! (playfully)

Akshara: Prem uncle!!! (bows down and takes his blessings)

Ved: Prem uncle! Now you don’t start it…. Teasing me is only Akshu’s right!!!

They all laugh…. Prem and Vedansh leave for the award ceremony while Akshara leaves for the hospital….

A luxurious hotel room is shown, where a young man is shown, ready in his suit, looking fresh and handsome…. An man in his 45s is shown sitting beside him, reading a newspaper.. Yes! That’s Kairav and Naksh…

Kairav: (on the call) Yes Mr. Tripathi! Cancel all my meetings for tomorrow… You know that tomorrow is so important for me and my family (seeing Naksh) …

Mr. Tripathi: Yes sir! Tomorrow is your family’s 16th death anniversary…. So I’ve cancelled all the appointments for tomorrow….

Kairav: Good to know…. Please see the arrangements for my return flight to Udaipur….

Mr. Tripathi: You don’t worry sir! Your chartered flight is ready…

Kairav: Thank you! Good day! (end call)

Naksh: (seeing him) Kairav! Is everything fine?

Kairav: How can everything be fine maamu? Tomorrow is very important for me and today I’m here… in this city where my parents, my sister, my whole family got killed…. (controls his anger) [ BTW, he is in Mumbai]

Naksh: Kairav… Please control your emotions….

Kairav: I’m okay maamu…. Shall we go?

Naksh: Kairav…. Please talk to me beta… Vent out your sorrow…. I can’t see you like this…. How many days will you be like that???

Kairav: (not paying heed to his advice) Maamu… I’m fine… Now let’s go…. We are running late….

Naksh: (giving up) Ok… Let’s go…

They leave for the same award ceremony as Vedansh…!

Precap: Akshara’s senior asks her and her team to go to Udaipur at the instant…. Kairav and Vedansh meet…. Akshara and Abhimanyu meet….
