Part 7: Ring
NEXT MORNING AT MM
Sunrays peeped through the window and disturbed sanskar’s sleep. He opens his eyes lazily and stretches his arms. He feels some weight on him. He looks down and sees aryan sleeping on him. Sanskar smiles and ruffles aryan’s hair. He slowly puts him on the bed, without disturbing his sleep. Just then he sees his phone widens his eyes due to shock.
Sanskar: Oh no! I also slept when swara was telling stories to aryan.
He immediately dialed her number. In Gadodia house, swara came out of bathroom, after having her shower. She was drying her hair with the towel. Just then her phone rings. She picked the phone. And before she could say something, sanskar bombarded on her with his talks.
Sanskar: Hi..I mean good morning…I am.. I am so sorry. I don’t know how I slept. I swear I was awake but I was really tired and I didn’t know when my eyes closed and I slept without talking to you. I am very sorry swara.
Swara smiles listening to him.
Sanskar: Swara, say something
Swara: It’s okay
Sanskar: huh
Swara: No need to say sorry, it’s totally okay. You sounded very tired so you slept.
Sanskar: So…umm…then I will see you today at 2pm.
Swara: Bye
Sanskar: Bye.
They cut the call. The day slowly started to pass. Sanskar was eagerly waiting for the time when he, ragini and sujata will depart from their house and go to swara’s house. He went back to his mansion from his office. He reached the hall where ragini and sujata were.
Sanskar: So should we go?
Ragini: Someone is very eager to meet his to be finacee
Sanskar: woh…I…bhabhi, you know I am very punctual so we should reach the given time
Sujata: Yup, you are correct… let’s go ragini..
Ragini, sujata, and sankar departed for gadodia house.
AT GH
Today arjun didn’t go to his college as there was a holiday. Swara and arjun were helping shomi in cleaning her wardrobe. Arjun’s eyes went to a photo. He takes the photo and smiles naughtily.
Arjun: Aww…see this cute little girl (swara and shomi look at arjun). She looks so cute in this pink frock and flour on her face and hand.
Swara widens her eyes as she remembers when she was about 6 years old… she wanted to knead a dough. She was really adamant to do so shomi gave her little flour on a plate. Swara kneed a dough but she started playing with it. Her hands and face were covered with the dough and shekhar clicked a picture of her.
Arjun: Jiju should see this picture.
Swara: no arjun…
She started running behind him. Arjun ran towards the hall. At the same time sanskar, ragini and shomi also came. They saw arjun running and swara running behind him. Shomi also came to the hall and was trying to stop them but they were so engrossed in running that they didn’t listen.
Swara: Arjun, please…give that back to me.
Arjun (smirking naughtily): No di, you look so cute and jiju should also know that how cute you were in your childhood.
Swara (worriedly): But arjun…
Swara foot gets stuck in the carpet and she was going to fall down but sanskar ran and held her tightly before she could fall down.
Swara closed her eyes tightly. Everyone smile seeing them.
Sanskar (softly): swara
Swara opened her eyes and looks at the person who saved and it was none other than sanskar. They looked into each other’s eyes and were drowned in them. There was new feeling developing in their hearts which they didn’t know, the feelings which they never felt. Sanskar’s eyes were full of admiration and care whereas swara’s eyes were reflecting her innocence.
Ragini: Ahm ahm
Swara and sanskr broke their eyelock and were embarrassed. Sanskar made her stand and removed his hand from her waist
Sanskar (embarrassed): Umm… are you okay?
Swara nods
Ragini (taking them out of the awkwardness): By the way, which photo were you and arjun talking about.
Shomi (while chuckling): Actually that photo is of swara when she was about 6.5 years old. She was very adamant to help me in making dinner as I was little sick. I told her so many time that I am ok and I don’t need help but she was very stubborn. So I put little bit of flour in a bowl and gave it to her to knead. She out too much water and then started playing with it. The flour was spead on her face and hands and shekhar took her photo.
Ragini: Aww…swara you are so cute (pulls her cheeks)
Swara (blushing): Umm..thank you bhabhi…I will go and bring tea.
Sujata (stopping her): No need beta, we already had our lunch. So, you and sanskar should go to the shop.
Sanskar: What! I means aren’t you guys coming.
Ragini (teasingly): No devarji, only you and swara are going till then all of us will discuss about your engagement. Right ma, shomi aunty
Shomi: Correct.
Sanskar: Okay, if (gazing swara) swara is comfortable.
Sujata: Swara, are you okay to go with sanskar.
Swara nods. Sanskar smiles seeing her trust on him
Ragini: So what you guys are waiting for…go go
Swara and sanskar went. Sanskar opened the car door for swara like a true gentleman.
Swara (shying): Thank you
She sits in the car. Sanskar sits on driving seat and starts driving the car. There was an awkward silence between them. They didn’t know what to and from where to start.
Sanskar: Ahem… would you like to listen to music
Swara: It’s your car so…
Sanskar interrupts, “Our car swara”
Swara looks at him surprisingly.
Sanskar: Umm.. I mean, we are going to get married soon so whatever is mine is all yours.
Swara was totally speechless listening to him.
Sanskar: So can I (pointing his finger towards radio)
Swara nods. Sanskar turns on the radio. But both of them got shocked after listening to the song, making them shy and embarrassed.

Both of them move their hand towards radio to change the song and their hands touched. A current passes through their bodies. Swara took her hand back. Sanskar changed the song but again they were shocked.

Sanskar changed the song and the next song which totally made their faces red.

Finally sanskar decided to turn the radio of to avoid further awkwardness.
Sanskar: What type of songs they play now a days. I swear I didn’t know that they will play such songs.
Swara’s face was fully red, not due to shyness but because she trying to controlling her laugh. She couldn’t control her laugh and burst out laughing. Sanskar turned his face as he heard her melodious laugh. He looks at her memorisingly as she was looking more cute and beautiful while laughing.
Swara (while laughing): Sorry..suddenly that song was played…
Sanskar smiles and looks at the road again but still gazing her with the corner of her eyes. After few seconds, she stopped laughing.
Swara: Sorry woh…
Sanskar: It’s okay…
They reached a jewellery shop.
Sanskar: Lets buy ring for you first.
Swara nods. The shopkeeper was showing so many different designs of ring but our swara’s gaze was at some other piece of jewellery. Sanskar noticed swara. He followed her gaze and saw a beautiful diamond heart pendant. There was ‘ss’ carved in heart of that pendant
Sanskar: Um…swara
Swara looking at sanskar, “ji”
Sanskar shows her a ring, “Do you like this ring.”
Swara looks at the platinum ring in which there were little diamonds. It was simpl yet elegant.
Swara: It’s beautiful.
Sanskar to shopkeeper, “Please pack this one.”
Then the shopkeeper started showing ring for sanskar.
Sanskar (hesitating): Which ring should I choose?
Swara: All are very beautiful.
Just then swara sees a ring.
Swara pointing towards that ring, “I think that ring.”
Sanskar to shopkeeper, “Pack that one.”
Sanskar: Swara, I will pay the bill, you go to the car with the rings.
Swara nods and goes to parking. Sanskar asks the shopkeeper to pack the pendant which swara was gazing. He kept that pendant in his pocket and went towards the car where swara was waiting.
