Vinay Jain opens up on why he has gone missing from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlataa Hai
Vinay Jain, who is known for his role as Harshvardhan Birla in the TV show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlataa Hai, has been missing from the show. Recently his character has moved to Mumbai for a new assignment.
Now according to the reports, Vinay has taken a break from the show and is currently focussing on his play My Wife’s 8th Vachan. The actor is essaying the central character in the play along with Anup Soni and Monisha Katial.
When asked about it in a recent interview, he said, “After the 5-year leap, the story moved to Himachal Pradesh, where Akshara (Pranali Rathod) is living with her new family and son. There was not much for me to do because Birla family was not in focus. I got this offer to act in a play and I have always enjoyed doing theatre. Theatre is like a musician’s riyaaz for an actor. The role was extremely challenging and it was great to see people come back to theatres to watch a play after three years. The play focuses on how due to social media, real communication is missing in relationships.”
Vinay added, “It is challenging when you act in a play. I am not saying that I don’t enjoy TV but I have always wanted to do meaty roles, whether it was Ishq Subhanallah or Yeh Rishta. When we did our first show, I met a few people who were watching a play for the first time. Then there were a few who said it was a completely new experience after 3 years.”
Meanwhile, the actor is waiting to return to the show. “I will wait for my track to open up in Yeh Rishta, till then I would love to explore new roles in OTT and theatre,” he concluded.
