The episode starts with lord Vishnu and laxmi going to menak mountain to take the invitation of parvati’s marriage with mahadev. As they come inside, nandi comes and welcomes lord Vishnu and devi laxmi. Nandi says what happened prabhu and mata? You came here? lord Vishnu says nandi, we have come to ask mahadev’s hand in marriage with my sister parvati. Nandi is shocked and says prabhu but mahadev wont listen. Lord Vishnu smiles and says we will meet mahadev. Lord Vishnu, laxmi and nandi go to meet mahadev who meditates under the tree.
There lord Vishnu and laxmi go and meet mahadev. Mahadev opens his eyes from meditation, and welcomes lord Vishnu and devi laxmi. Mahadev says what happened Narayana? Is it an emergency that you had to come here? lord Vishnu says no mahadev, it is of
Mahadev says Narayana, before sati was the form of adishakti and I was married to her, but because of her egoistic father prajapati daksh and because of her stubbornness to go to daksh’s yagya even though we were not invited, she burnt herself and died. Mahadev says after that my anger had no bounds and I did tandav which could not be stopped. Lord Vishnu says mahadev, parvati is beautiful and you have seen her, there is no beauty that can match her. Nandi says mahadev is also not less, he is parabrahma roop and in one whom the universe lives, he is very divya and nothing is more full of life than mahadev. Laxmi says you are complimenting mahadev and parvati, let mahadev decide if he is ready for marriage. Lord Vishnu says mahadev, you and devi parvati have to get married because tarkasura has to be killed and he can die only from the hands of your son, if that doesn’t happen soon tarkasura will end this world. Mahadev says Narayana, I and parvati are meant to be together, adishakti is parabrahma swaroop and we can never be separated, I will marry parvati but on one condition. Lord Vishnu says what condition mahadev? Mahadev says I will take a test of parvati, if she passes then shall I marry her. Lord Vishnu thinks and says okay mahadev, whatever you wish.
There raja himavan says to his wife, devi maina now our daughter has become old enough to marry and I told her to serve the maha yogi. Devi maina says but swami, we have to think that parvati is the form of adishakti. Raja himavan says yes, you are right and adishakti and mahadev are one, so parvati has to be married to mahadev and no one else as they both love each other. Raja himavan says we have to talk about parvati’s marriage.
Mahadev there takes a disguise of a woman to take the test of parvati.
