Urfi Javed condemns Udaipur murder; says, “Where are we heading to?”

POpular face of social media and Indian telly these days, Urfi Javed has reacted strongly to the murder of a 48-year-old Hindu tailor in Udaipur by two men who filmed the crime, claimed the killing was ‘to avenge the insult of Islam’ and threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In an interview with First Post, Urfi said, “Where are we heading to? Allah didn’t ask you to hate and kill in his name.”

She even took to her social media to condemn the act. She said, “People killing and hating in the name of their religions and gods (their imaginary friends). Seriously like what. Why aren’t we talking about education, women empowerment, fast track cases for rapes, GDP. Religions were made so that people have moral and ethical sense.”

She added, “In today’s time, your religion is taking away your morality and ethics! Extremism in any man-made belief such as religions will only cause destruction! Never too late. Open up your eyes people! I know I will be getting a lot of hate after this but guess that I am not filled with hate like you extremists.”

Even actress Devoneena BHattacharjee condemned the act. She said,” Terrorism at its peak. And celebrating it is more disgusting & unacceptable. #UdaipurHorror.”

In another tweet, she wrote, “Shaanti phelane wale duto ke paas Ashanti phelane wale hathiyaar? Was that pre-planned murder or is this very normal to keep these weapons for peace loving creatures ? #UdaipurHorror.”
