An Unsung Heroine- Urmila (Part 17)

“You are still sleeping Laxman! Get up. Daughters will be here soon.”Sumitra said snatching Laxman’s quilt. The three queens were eagerly waiting for their daughter in laws who were returning from Mithila.
Laxman: Oh come on ma. Please allow me to sleep otherwise when your daughter in law will come she will not let me sleep.
Sumitra: That’s good laxman. At least there is someone in the world who can get you up from sleep. Now get ready fast otherwise I will tell urmila that you were happy after she goes to mithila.
Laxman: noooo ma I was not at all happy after she left. (lost in his thoughts and Sumitra was staring at her smiling) This room felt to be empty without her.(get back and sees Sumitra) I mean Ma ya lets go otherwise she will start shouting.
Sumitra kisses on Laxman’s head and pull his ears. They left for the entrance gate.

The dolies arrive. All four sisters touch the feet of Dashrath and the three maharanis.
Dashrath: Maharanis look first when our sons will not be in the palace, then it seems to be a silent forest and now when our daughter in laws are not then our whole Ayodhya seems to be a silent forest.
Kaushlaya: You are right Maharaj. Daughters are the light of home. Come in daughters.
Laxman and Urmila went to their room.
Urmila: very good Saumitr. You kept our room very well.
Laxman: Thank you. How was your journey?
Urmila: Awesome. You know what my favorite rabbit have a baby. Oh so cute. Well why are you looking so tired? Didn’t you sleep?
Laxman: Ya I just sleep for some hours.
Urmila: Hours!! Just hours not days?
Laxman: (taking his pillow) yes
Urmila: (snatching the pillow) how can you like sleeping so much? And at this time, when I have to tell you so many things.
Urmila also lay down next to laxman.

Urmila: Saumitr what will you do when you are not allow to sleep for many days?
Laxman: nobody can take my sleep from me.
Urmila: Even if it becomes an obstacle in your duty?
Laxman: yes what will I do then?
Urmila: (getting up) think, think
Laxman: (pulling urmila) you will sleep for me. Nice idea?
Urmila: no no no sleep! Not at all. (Stand up)
Laxman: (gets up and pull Urmila close to him) Oh come on you can’t even sleep for me.
Urmila: no I can’t sleep and will never sleep like you in morning. So please.
Laxman: You know what; Rakshashi can have a vardan to sleep for many years.
Urmila: Rakshashi!! You again call me Rakshashi. I hate u.
A sound of laughing came from the door. They forgot to close the door. It was Mandavi’s.

Mandavi: I am sorry Laxman ji. I came without your permission.
Laxman: No no bhabhi it ok. Well if I am not wrong you call Urmila Rakshashi right.
Mandavi: absolutely right. You know she will always fight with me. So I kept her name rakshashi. I know that her habit can’t change after marriage.
Laxman: you are right bhabhi. She kept fighting with me every time she enters the room. And also on small thing.
Mandavi: I love her face when she get irritated.
Urmila: (irritated) If bhabhi and devar’s fight puran get over then can we please proceed.
Mandavi: Oh rakshashi, sita didi was calling you. We have to make dinner. You let me forget everything. Let’s go.
Urmila: ok I am coming.
Mandavi turns to leave. Laxman came close to Urmila and whisper in near her ears.
Laxman: what did you say before bhabhi enter?
Urmila: what? I hate u.
Laxman: why?
Urmila: because I hate u.
Laxman: but I love u.
Urmila smiles and leave with Mandavi.

Precap- husbands serve the food to their wives. Sita cried for help but a eagle takes her.
