Udaariyaan: Ankit Gupta, Priyanka Choudhary and Isha Malviya to quit the show post leap
Popular TV show Udaariyaan is all set to witness a 15-year leap. According to the reports, the lead actors of the show Ankit Gupta, Priyanka Choudhary, and Isha Malviya will no longer be part of the show post the leap.
The show has been garnering a lot of love from the viewers and it seems like the makers of the show are now in the mood to revamp the entire show, introducing new faces to lead the story.
A source close to the production house told BT, “Ankit, Priyanka, and Isha have quit the show because they do not want to play parents to grown-ups. Also, the actors’ characters have done their bit in the last one-and-a-half years and since the lead actors did not want to play parents, now it is time for the story to progress with a fresh new cast.”
Udaariyaan is produced by actors Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta. The show recently took a short leap, where child actors Kevina Tak and Kishtu K were introduced.

When you are an actor, you must show your talent weather you act as an old, young character, this is what acting is all about,shame you are leaving because of your character that shows you are incapable of acting, so sad in that case goodbye you lost the plot.

This is the official version. In reality perhaps they are just fed up of the stupid script. I doubt all 3 of them would have 1 and the same reasoning
@Veena. here is a reason why lead actors don’t accept parents’ characters or side character. Once they start accepting these roles, they won’t be anymore liked by audience as leads once they start giving the best to their old roles. Such is the Indian audience. So more are the chance that with coming years they may not get desirable roles and lead roles and soon will be sidelined from the industry itself. So for constant work throughout their life, they take up old roles only once they realise they are aging faster. Take for example, Rajshri Rani. Long back we know her as the lead actress of ‘Suhani si ek ladki’. Now she is doing side roles or supporter roles because later she realised she is aging and no more any younger.
So pls respect actors choice.
You are free to criticize the characters but not the actors. They are doing just what the directors expect them to do and that’s what they are paid for. Nothing more, nothing less.
No, it’s not about that. The thing is they will be receive similar roles only after this. It’s the shortcomings of TV industry. So any actor will not want to play a parents of grown ups. And they won’t be the main characters of the show. And we all know how side characters are ignored by audience as well as makers.
Let’s not get it twisted, the actors aren’t stupid, they’ve seen how stupid this sort of character portrayal is in a show like choti sardarni and how it doesn’t attract fans or long storylines. It’s best for their credibility and careers to get out and pursue other lines. Ankit will get a lead elsewhere, Priyanka will get modelling work, Isha will look for the nearest Samosa-wala….
