CHAPTER – 48 – THE PROPOSAL

TWINKLE (POV)
“Maira” I heard Mahi’s voice coming from the hallway and footsteps approaching near my door , “Maira! Maira” Mahi panted grabbing her lehenga as she rushed inside , “He’s gone. Yuvi is gone” she breathed out in a worried tone.
“Where?” Maira asked narrowing her gaze and Mahi gulped nervously , “He’s gone. Just left this letter leaving it with a note that he isn’t ready for this marriage”
“What?!” I turned around facing her stunned and Mahi looked down. “Mahi! You brat” Yuvi rushed inside smacking the back of her head and Mahi stuck her tongue out at him.
“What kind of a joke was that?” Maira mumbled wiping the tears and Yuvi grabbed her hand glaring at Mahi. “He asked me to do it” She gave him a pointed look and I crossed my arms leaning on the cupboard.
Maira looks at him boggled and he chuckled nervously , “Yeah I did..” he trailed but quickly held Maira’s hand as she started to step back , “But decided against it. But this idiot has already fled with the letter. It was a small prank”
He pointed at Mahi and she rolled her eyes at him stepping towards me , “Bhai is being so insecure today. He knows he has no chance against you. You look stunning , Twinkle”
She hugged me and I chuckled patting her back and said , “You look beautiful too” Mahi smiled turning to face Maira and told Maira, “Yeah yeah. You don’t look less than a disneyyyy princess” she sing-songs and Maira smiled muttering a thank you.
“The guests are here” Natasha peeks from the door and I gestured them to come along. “Don’t snog behind us and come along” Mahi yelled at them from the hallway.
“You’re just jealous” I heard Yuvi before we went down the stairs to the hall. “Kunj can’t keep his eyes off you” Mahi laughs silently whispering beside me and I chuckled looking ahead to find Kunj at the end of the staircase.
“M’lady” He give a me his usual charming smile and held his hand out from me. I smiled placing my hand upon his, “I’m flattered” I whispered walking alongside with him as he wrapped an arm my waist winking at me.
“You should be. Your husband’s got every woman’s eye today” he passed a smile to one of my employees and I smacked his arm chuckling beside him.
“Soon to husband” I corrected him and grabbed a glass of water smiling at Yuvi and Maira as they stepped down the stairs , “They look perfect together” I heard Kunj speaks from beside me.
“And so do we” I heard Abhai’s voice and turned to see him standing there with an unfamiliar man. “Hello” I smiled at him and he smiled extending his hand and Kunj shook his hand raising an eyebrow at Abhai.
“I explained everything to my parents. After loads of tears and drama , they finally accepted our relation” Abhai chuckled and I beamed at him , “That’s great”
“Abhai clearly lacks manners. He didn’t even introduce us properly” the man grinned and Abhai rolled his eyes smiling. “Vikas. I have heard a lot about you guys”
“Twinkle and this is my husband , Kunj. I’m glad to see you both happy” he shook my hand and then placed a light kiss on my knuckles. “Charming. Must teach that to Kunj”
He laughed and I joined along while I could clearly see Kunj murdering poor Vikas in his mind.
“Twinkleee” Mahi’ stood near the dance floor gesturing me to come , “Let the mehndi night beginnn” she yelled while the rest of us clapped as music surrounded the whole area.

“My feet hurt so muchhh” Natasha grumbled leaning against Dhruv and he chuckled wrapping his arms around her. “You danced throughout the entire function , babe”
“Ohhhh” We all drawled smirking and Dhruv turned scarlet hiding his face behind her hair. “Guys stop” he laughed still hiding behind her and I laughed leaning my head against Kunj’s chest.
“I have a surprise for you , love” He whispered kissing he top of my head and I instantly turned around wide eyed smiling , “Really? Hurry up then” he laughed lightly at my enthusiasm and grabbed my hand pulling me up with him.
“Dad! Twinkle is eloping with her so called husband” Maira yelled and I showed her the finger before rushing out with Kunj. “What’s the surprise?!”
“You know what surprise means right?” he asks rolling his eyes and I nodded slowly , “Yess”
“Then shut that pretty mouth of yours unless you want me to do it” he smiled sweetly at me and pulled me closer kissing my temple making me smile.
We walked for about 5 minutes more reaching the near by park near my house and looked at Kunj questioningly. He left my hand and kissed my cheek. “I’ll leave you here. You have to find the way yourself now”
He whispered and pulled back and ran towards the other side of the park leaving me boggled , “Just look at your left , babe” he yelled before disappearing out of my sight.
I turned around and saw a neon orange note sticking on a tree and walked towards it. Pulling my hands out of my coat pocket , I grabbed the note.
? Never would I get tired of telling you about how much thankful I’m that I met you. Met you not knowing who you were on a street but the urge to protect you at that time and till now would never go away?
I smiled remembering the time I first met Kunj on the street outside the book shop I worked in and how I went to his house pretending to be Ria.
Looking ahead I spotted another green note sticked to a bench and unfolded it.
? Never would I regret the moment I told you about my life. Wanted to kiss you so badly at that moment but seeing you looking so innocent and vulnerable at that moment made stop. Glad now I can kiss you any time *smirks*?
I laughed lightly folding the note and closed my eyes taking in a deep breath. That moment was when I tried to convince myself that I couldn’t love Kunj but Look at the situation now. I’m marrying him in a few days and that couldn’t make me anymore happy.
“Hey..” I opened my eyes to see a little girl standing there with a pink note with a sunflower and a daisy in her hands , “For you” she mumbled shyly and I took them from her kissing her cheek.
She ran away giggling to the woman standing at the corner who smiled at me and walked away.
?When I first kissed you , all I felt was like daisy and sunflowers. See Twinkle… even that small kiss made me giddy. So here’s one of each for you. And you’re mine?
One of each for you… I folded the note and chuckled seeing the two flowers. The time he kissed me in his cabin and never would I forget his words.
‘You’re mine’
I’ll never get tired of him saying that to me.
I walked over picking up another note with a huge grin.
? I love you , Twinkle. I have fallen in love with you. Deeply and badly…
I tear my gaze away from the note. These words seems so familiar….
I looked at the note again.
Yup. Those words were used by you when you first told me about your feelings. And then you slapped me. Yeah yeah , I deserved it. I was an a*sh*le *smirks* still am?
I chuckled walking ahead and spotted a note on the swing.
? Then came the bike race and everything started there. We had our actually first kiss there and trust me , I still regret what I did. I shouldn’t have let you go?
I nodded smirking to myself.
Moving on , I picked another note near the slide and sat on the swing reading it.
? Then comes Paris. I was furious seeing your closeness with Dhruv. Don’t blame me alrighttt , your irresistible and yeah I was jealous , a lot. Kinda spoiled your date with Dhruv *evil laugh* I loved our little moments there and finally our reunion in Paris after a long drama. But then something horrible had to happen.
(OF COURSE IT HAD TO! IT’S MY STORY AND I NEVER STICK TO A SINGLE PLOT *evil laugh*)
After all that fiasco , those two years without you Twinkle were pure torture and….
I looked at the incomplete sentence and frowned. I looked around for another note but couldn’t’ find one.
“And I’m sorry…” I looked onto my right side seeing Kunj crouched down on his knee. “I’m sorry for those two years and I’ll always be. I promise you, Twinkle. I’ll make it up to you, for every single second passed without you”
I chuckled slightly bending down to his level and smiled at him , “And I love you , Kunj. I always will. Those two years was all in the past and now I’m just waiting for our future”
He smiled capturing my lips in a slow kiss and I pulled back suddenly with a huge grin, “And Oh my God! We’ll have lots of children. Five girls and 5 five boys. What do you think?”
Kunj looked at me in horror before choking on his own spit and I laughed rubbing his back lightly, “It’s alright. We could always go for five more”
His eyes widened , “Woman , are you crazy?” I laughed loudly standing up and smacked his head lightly , “Yes. Crazy for you”
He rolled his eyes smiling and took a black velvet box out of his pocket. I clapped my hands excitedly and grinned , “I knew this was coming….hurry up”
He just sat there smiling at me and I waited patiently. But he didn’t move. “Oh , come on” I whined and took the small box opening it.
My eyes widened in awe looking at it. There was a small swirl inside it of brown colour made of a thick paste or something.
(? LIKE POOP YEAH??)
“What the hell is this?” I asked surprised and Kunj shrugged , “Poop”
I screeched loudly throwing the box in an instant and jumped back rubbing my hand on my clothes , “Yuck. What the hell Kunj” I smacked his shoulder as he laughed.
“Just kidding. It was chocolate frosting” he chuckled and I rolled my eyes. “Before you go all ninja over me again…” he sighed finally revealing a ring , “Will you marry me again”
“Yes. Yes , I will” I whispered suddenly on the verge of crying and Kunj slipped the ring on my finger and stood up.
“You were grinning like an idiot before and now look at you” he chuckled wrapping an arm around my waist and pulling me closer.
“I’m not crying” I sniffed making him smile as his thumb brushed against my cheekbone wiping the tears.
“Of course , you aren’t. You are just happy” he mumbled pressing his forehead against mine and I nodded smiling him. I sighed closing my eyes.
Best moment ever.
“I really really really love you” I whispered and his hold on my waist tightened as he opened his eyes looking at me. “I really really really love you more and always will”
“For forever” I mumbled.
“For forever”
