Twist in the tale…Part 6

It was almost half past four. Abhi was sitting in his bike waiting for Purab & Nikhil to join him. *OMG! Such obedient learners! They still are with their professors even after clg hrs!*

Though Abhi was free his mind was busy thinking.
Just then his phone beeped. He switched it on to find a notification…WHATS APP!

He opened.
It showed…
PRAGU… online…and then down the chats, a hi.

Abhi wondered what to do. He messaged back… ‘HI’.
Immediately came the reply ‘U told me… u r coming 2 clg’

Abhi did not reply… instead he made an irate face and drove towards his home.

This side, Pragya was waiting for his reply. She didn’t even come by Scooty today! She started cursing him in a low voice.

“Why are you standing here Pragya?” one of her mate asked.
“I didn’t bring my Scooty today…in mech. so waiting for an auto” she said and turned away. Bulbul came and asked the same. Pragya told her that her brother would pick her and so she didn’t bring her Scooty! Bulbul nodded and moved to the canteen…coz Purab had already messaged her telling he will be late. Pragya still stood there… she cursed herself for believing Abhi! Now she is left to lie and stand alone!

‘To hell with him! Why did I believe him? Why am I standing here alone now? Why is that that I was so blind? How stupid of me? Oh my! What a pathetic situation I now am in’ Pragya couldn’t help but curse Abhi for promising her and herself for believing him.

But after 7 minutes came his message… ‘Sry…couldn’t come. Bit busy’

It was fuel to fire. Already angry Pragya was now hell angry. She yelled at the phone and messaged back… “It’s ok…will go by my Scooty”
She typed and murmured something.

Her phone beeped again… ‘I can cm, but can u wait?’

‘Wait? The stupid thing I am doing now’ she thought.
Pragya messaged back angrily… ‘Y wud I? I am already on Scooty. Bye. Got to go’

She switched the phone off and stood there, waiting…for an auto!

Abhi watched Pragya standing alone…her face expressing purest anger and disappointment.

‘Sry…couldn’t come. Bit busy’ he messaged.
He saw Pragya yelling at her phone and smiled to himself.

He now got a message… “It’s ok…will go by my Scooty”. Abhi smiled seeing it. ‘I know you did not bring your Scooty just for me!’ he told himself and messaged back… ‘I can cm, but can u wait?’ he teased her.

Again he saw Pragya fuming in anger… she typed and within seconds, he got the message… ‘Y wud I? I am already on Scooty. Bye. Got to go’

Abhi started smiling madly. He was hiding behind that big tree opposite to her clg and was watching Pragya! Pragya was getting mad as time passed by and Abhi was even more smiling seeing it. He sat on his bike and drove towards Pragya!

“Driving, it seems?” Abhi asked her who was staring him.
She did not reply.

“Is your Scooty repaired?” he continued… “Did your brother come to pick you?” he asked.
Pragya was silent. Her lips twitched into a cute curl and she started smiling. She understood Abhi was watching her hiding somewhere and thought of how she lied…she was really smiling now, but tried to hide it from Abhi.

“Why did you come?” she asked him, showing fake anger.
“Came to pick Bulbul” he said smiling and Pragya saw behind him. Purab rushed his bike before her!
“Hi” Purab said.
Abhi smiled and gave his naughty wink while Pragya started blushing…trying hard to go unnoticed.
Abhi signalled her to sit and she followed. They rode off.
“Where is my HI?” Purab was left to blink!!!
