Twist in the tale…Part 2

Part 2

“Thanks for dropping man” Purab patted Abhi’s shoulder, as he got down from Abhi’s bike.
“Arey yaar… I have to. Coz, I irritated you morning naa?” he said pushing Purab in.

It was 3.47 pm. Purab had learnt to be early than being punctual! At times, Bulbul would be there before time and if she is made to wait, no one… not even the almighty knows what will happen to Purab!

Sitting in the coffee shop, Abhi was making use of the free Wi-Fi while Purab was going through the menu. Though he knew he would be ordering a cappuccino, he flipped the cards wondering what new he can order for Bulbul. “She can order herself Purab” Abhi was still scrolling down the news article. “Hmm…” Purab continued his work.

It was sharp four and the cuckoo bird of the timepiece chirped thrice. Bulbul was there before it can finish the next one!

“Chirp now my cuckoo bird” Purab hugged Bulbul… “Where is your friend” he asked looking behind her.
“So, came to meet my friend it seems… Forget the idea of flirting with her” Bulbul shrunk her eyes.

Purab smiled sheepishly as she caught him red handed… but then both laughed, hugging each other again.

“I cannot baby… in front of you” Purab winked while Bulbul slapped him slightly.
“She is in the parking lot… will be in a minute or so. Hi Abhi” Bulbul finally waved Abhi as she saw him.

Abhi was all the while reading his news article. ‘Politics is always a perfectly imperfect drain!’ he muttered to himself. Reading further only made him regret for choosing to read that. Flipping down the pages, Abhi heard the clock strike once…it was four. He very well knew Bulbul would be there any minute. And before the cuckoo bird can complete its tweet, Bulbul was there. He heard them talking and thought Purab is always the same! He had his eyes on his phone but all his ears were on them. At one time, Bulbul will notice him… he had to pay attention. Finally he pocketed his mobile and took a glance on the hugging couple. Even I never hug this many times, he thought. Finally he saw Bulbul turning to him. She waved him a hi!

“Hi bulls” Abhi waved back.

Purab and Bulbul started to talk again and Abhi went back to his mobile. Just then she arrived in.

“Hi Purab” Bulbul’s friend who arrived just now, waved Purab a Hi. “Hi” Purab waved back. After a minute of formal hugging and pleasantries, the girl started to speak.
“I am Pragya… Pragya Arora. Bulbul’s friend” she told Purab.
“Hmm… you know my name… Purab KHANNA… Bulbul’s boy friend” he said smiling “And this is my friend… Abhi… Abhishek Prem Mehra” Abhi stood up and waved a Hi. There was something new in his face, Purab spotted but didn’t confess.

All sat in the table. Purab ordered a Cappuccino for himself and a Cocoa Latte for Bulbul. Abhi paid no attention to the waiter nor the drink *Purab ordered for him as he didn’t respond* … while Pragya ordered a classic green tea. Everyone where busy chatting while Abhi alone was simply sipping his hot chocolate and watching the faces of his friends. He would bet he never listened to Bulbul who did all the talking… his attention was all centred on the silent her! After an hour of pleasant chitchat the group dispersed.

“What do you think of Pragya?” Purab asked which made Abhi give a sudden break to the accelerating bike.

Purab was very well aware of what was going on in Abhi’s mind. If he were the real Abhi, he knew, he wouldn’t be driving without uttering a thing. It was always his habit to blabber in the bike but now he was… muted. So Purab himself decided to initiate. But he never thought that Abhi would give a sudden break which almost threw them on road. Thanking god for still being in the seat, Purab steadied himself, with his calm look.

“What??” Abhi jerked while Purab was quite cool.
“I just asked about her” Purab answered simply.
“Nothing… I didn’t notice much yaar… hmm… big eyes… small nose…pink lips…long hair… simple specs… chirpy voice…all in all cute or rather beautiful” Abhi said, his voice suddenly becoming dreamy.
“You said you didn’t notice” Purab narrowed his eyes.
“It’s becoming late… we will leave now” Abhi started his bike again and sped off.

That’s it for the next part guys… and I know I am late… to be correct, so late. A few personal problems and little bit of depressing events…they made me quite sunk. Felt a little out of normal and idk a weird kind of sadness engulfed me. Oops, sorry for telling all my silly stuff guys. All in all it became a reason for me being late.
