 Twinj: When I Fell For You: Season 2 Episode 5

A quick recap: Twinkle recalls Simmi’s tantrums on the idea of having a younger sibling, Chinki’s idea of getting the kids to take part in her fashion show, Kunj’s mention of a surprise for Twinkle.

“Oooh surprise?” Twinkle whispered back, putting her arms around Kunj’s neck and placing a tiny peck on his cheek. He handed the rose to her, which she accepted gladly. She then placed her head on his chest, hugging him tight. He hugged her back, slowly swaying with the wind. “Kunj?” She whispered, “Hmmm?” she got in response. “What’s my surprise?” She asked excitedly, suddenly drawing back. He giggled at her and led her into their balcony, where he had set up a date for the them. Her eyes widened, and she happily chirped a thank you before she went ahead to admire the beautiful setup with the scented candles and little wind chimes, making soothing sounds with the whistling wind. “Candle light dessert, Mrs. Sarna?” Kunj offered, taking out two cups of her favourite ice cream from a tiny freezer near the table.

Twinkle came running towards Kunj and jumped into his arms. “I love you!” she said, feeling extremely blessed to have such a loving husband. They had been married for 6 years now, but not once had she felt that their love or romance had turned boring. Kunj still cared for her like he would a little child, and had always been her pillar of support, and in turn, she had stood by all his dreams, and had been the most co-operative whenever he was in need of it. It had always been a fairytale come true for them. “I love you too, wifey!” Kunj’s assurance sealed with a kiss on her forehead was something she always melted for, like she did right now.

They just stayed there, feeling the peace of being in each other’s embrace, until Kunj slowly tapped on her shoulder. “Should we go on that long drive that we’ve been planning for a long time, now?” He asked, recalling how Simmi always got in between their plans, stubbornly demanding to be taken along too, and Kunj could never ever deny his princess. He was brought back to the real world when he heard Twinkle turn down the plan with a blunt no. “Why?” He asked, evidently disappointed. “I know you’ve been working relentlessly for the last few weeks, Kunj. You need to rest now” She explained, leading him to the bed by holding his wrist. He looked on, admiration evident in his eyes. “What?” She demanded, as she pulled him to sit down on the bed beside her. “I didn’t know Siyappa Queen could be so mature and thoughtful” He teased, winking at her. She gave him a ‘Not funny!’ look, and pulled him, placing his head on her lap.

Twinkle gave him a soft head massage, while he sighed deeply. She smiled at him, finding solace in just watching him quietly as he quickly fell asleep, tired from his music related work that was recently clashing with the office work. She gently placed his head on a pillow, and covered him with a blanket. As she stood up, Kunj turned around in his sleep, holding onto her hand, pulling her closer. She giggled as he protested when she freed her hand. Making sure he was still asleep, she picked up the empty jug on the bedside table and set out to fill it. Passing in the corridor, she heard Amaya’s voice, which made her sneek a peek into her room, wondering what she was doing so late in the night.

The scene in the room filled her eyes with tears of happiness. Yuvi held Amaya as she rested against him, and they were talking of how their little world was now complete, with Pari and their soon expected baby, while Yuvi interjected that Simmi too was their little baby, and Amaya agreed wholeheartedly. To Twinkle, that was the perfect definition of a happily ever after. She was more happy with Kunj than she could have even asked for, but the recent happenings made her wish Simmi had a sibling too. Besides, she knew her Bhaiyu and Bhabhi would always be her Romeo-Juliet. They were the people she always looked up to. Sighing happily, she walked downstairs, not wanting to disturb them.

She sat on the sofa, waiting for Yuvi to come downstairs to sneak out secretly like he did every night, assuming no one would know of his secret. “Twinkle?” Usha’s voice caught her off-guard. Usha came and sat beside her. “What are you doing here so late in the night? All ok?” She asked, concerned. “Arrey, nothing Mumma! I was just waiting for Bhaiyu” she said, placing her head on Usha’s shoulder. Usha slowly patted her, saying “I came by to make him a cup of tea too”, and laughed it off. “Where are your husband and Simmi? Fell asleep?” She asked, to which Twinkle simply nodded. “She hardly gives you a moment’s peace, doesn’t she?” Usha said giggling, which made Twinkle sit up straight. “Mumma, do you also think that Simmi is a spoilt child?” She asked worriedly. “Of course she’s not!” Another voice came from behind.
