Twinj: It’s Always Been You: Episode 7

A quick recap: Twinkle lashes out at Kunj when Usha tries to get her to reveal the truth, being extremely hurt at being reminded of the past, while Usha realises Kunj had been hiding something from her and questions him about it. On the other hand, Leela and Twinkle have a little fun gossiping, RT returns home.

Leela had managed to persuade Twinkle to accompany her and RT to a party they were invited to. Walking in, Twinkle’s eyes scanned the place for the person her heart always craved for. She frowned internally when she couldn’t find him, simultaneously reminding herself that she had to keep away from him. She excused herself to receive Chinki’s call and went to a less noisy corner. Just as she had finished speaking, she felt a gentle tap on her shoulder. Her heart lept at the idea that it could be Kunj, and she mentally made a note to herself to do something about it. Turning around, she was greeted by a cheerful “Twinkle!! My goodness! I was hoping to catch up with you, but look at our luck!” It was her room-mate back in Mumbai, Dr. Aparna. Twinkle was more than happy to see her, and hugged her affectionately.  She informed Twinkle that she had come to Amritsar for a small contract period to treat someone. The two girls had been chatting happily when Twinkle spotted the Sarnas entering the venue, and her eyes got fixed on Kunj. Unaware to her, Aparna had followed her sight to locate him, and she knew immediately what it was about.

“Have you been taking your medicines regularly?” Aparna asked Twinkle out of the blue, grabbing her attention. She got her answer when Twinkle carefully avoided her glance. She sighed deeply and said, “You know they are important, right?” Twinkle simply nodded, still looking everywhere else but at her. “I can see that you’re happier here, and you probably assume that you don’t need them anymore, but I can also see the impact that he still has upon you. You know what your anxiety issues have led to already, Twinkle..” She continued, not wanting her dear friend to suffer again. “I know..” Twinkle replied, her voice almost a whisper. “It was my baby! He would have been a little over two years old if he was around today” She spoke, looking at Aparna right in the eye, her own eyes begin to flood. “If he would have made it, you wouldn’t have shifted back either, the two of you would have created a whole new world for yourselves back there, and probably asked your parents to shift there..” Aparna said as she placed her hand on Twinkle’s, gently squeezing it assuringly. “Please take your medicines” Aparna whispered after a long pause, making sure that Usha, who was walking towards them, didn’t hear her.

Usha apologised profusely to Twinkle for whatever Kunj had done, although she claimed she still hadn’t been able to get what exactly it was. Twinkle had just finished assuring her that she didn’t have to burden herself with any of it, and it had all been left in the past when they heard a familiar voice saying, “Oooh lovely! I get to meet both the mother-in-law and the daughter-in-law together!!” Twinkle and Usha turned around immediately in a shock, having recognised Alisha from her taunt alone. “Alisha?” Usha managed to say, almost as though she believed asking that would send her away. “Hello Mrs. Sarna! Why do you look at me like that? Wishing Kunj had picked me over Twinkle?” She said menacingly, stepping close to them. She shot a sharp glance at Twinkel and said, “You’re wondering how I know that you and Kunj are together, aren’t you? I had realised right when I saw you rushing to his room in the hotel the night I had that quarrel with him. Evidently, you had just been waiting for me to leave him! Anyways, you can take my place now. I don’t give a damn!” Usha now turned to Twinkle, looking more shocked than she already was. “Good for you, Alisha. Just so that you know, Twinkle doesn’t need to take anyone’s place. She has her own, much higher than the one you had.” Kunj said, having rushed over right when he saw Alisha walk towards Twinkle. Alisha glared at him and muttered something before walking away.

“It’s great to see you after so long Mr. Taneja” Kunj said, greeting RT when he had accompanied Twinkle and Aparna, despite Twinkle’s reluctance, to where Leela and RT were standing, talking to some associates. RT responded with a not so friendly smile, shaking hands with him. Twinkle caught Kunj’s disappointment just before he managed to hide it with a smile, but didn’t say anything. She then introduced Aparna to Leela, who welcomed her heartily. Twinkle went on to tell her parents excitedly about how wonderful a cook Aparna is, along with being a very renowned psychiatrist. Kunj smiled to himself as he saw the glint of happiness in her eyes after a long time. “You’re in love, Kunj Sarna!” Aparna whispered to him, having observed him for almost half an hour now. “I know that! She isn’t though.” He whispered back dejectedly, making her giggle loud enough to grab everyone else’s attention. “I’m sorry, remembered an old joke” Aparna explained, but Twinkle knew for sure that she was lying. She glared at Aparna, but got nothing in response.

A while later Usha and Manohar came there, and the elders got to speaking like the good old days, making Twinkle feel bored. She had just taken a step away from them, pulling Aparna along, when RT joined her. He walked a few steps with them and then told her, “I know you’re disappointed with Kunj, Twinkle. I’m totally on your side as far as he is concerned, but his parents have been our acquaintances for quite some time now, we can’t be rude to them. It wasn’t their fault anyway, I hope you understand that” Twinkle assured him that she was just being bored and that she totally agreed with him that Kunj’s parents could not be blamed for anything that went wrong. RT smiled at his daughter, knowing how strong she had to have made herself to be able to view things practically. “Anytime you want to punish that boy though, I’ll be there” He added with a wink, giggling with the girls, when they heard Usha tell Leela that everyone thinks Twinkle and Kunj make a perfect couple, and a lot of people had even asked her when the wedding was happening. Twinkle and Kunj immediately looked at each other, with Twinkle looking away immediately when she heard Leela tell Usha that people always had something to say, and things like that weren’t to be taken seriously.

Twinkle had managed to get Aparna to agree to stay at the Taneja mansion, and Chinki definitely wasn’t happy with it. She didn’t like the idea of her best friend having a close friend whom she did not know. Besides, Chinki was annoyed that Aparna did not share the same hatred for Kunj as she and Yuvi did. She believed that itself was sufficient to keep Twinkle away from Aparna, but decided to keep an eye on her instead, knowing that Twinkle wouldn’t listen to her. On a mission to do so, she was passing by Twinkle’s room when she heard Aparna’s voice. “You haven’t told even Leela aunty?” Chinki couldn’t believe her ears. She always thought Leela knew everything, even the parts that she and Yuvi didn’t know. “What would I tell her? And how? You know how things were back then. It was too late for anyone to do anything. Besides, I was so far away, she would only be really troubled.” Twinkle replied, and Chinki was getting more curious now, besides being extremely worried. Trying to lean closer to watch them, she pushed a vase in front of her by mistake, and it came crashing down, causing Twinkle and Aparna to hurriedly rush there. Chinki looked at Aparna before turning back to Twinkle. “You can tell me anything, Twinkle! I am your best friend!! Please!” She pleaded with teary eyes.

That’s it for now guys. Tell me what you thought about it. Until next time,

Lots of love!!
