Twinj: It’s Always Been You: Episode 1

A quick recap: An undisclosed person visits Twinkle’s room secretly and reads through the pages of her diary, which hold her intense feelings for Kunj. The person leaves when Leela enters the room and reveals that the room has been unused for three years now.

Twinkle walked towards the baggage section at Amritsar airport having just landed in town, her emotions getting the better of her. It felt like it had been an eternity since she last left.  She realised that three years of distancing herself hadn’t done much good to her purpose of leaving. She sighed deeply, trying to prepare herself for the several hundred questions that would be fired at her in one go. She knew she couldn’t run away again, her mother would have had a really tough time in her absence. She felt selfish for leaving her behind like that, but she was well aware that she wouldn’t have been able to handle the trauma if she had stayed back. As she persuaded herself to keep going atleast for Leela’s sake, she ran into someone who had been walking backwards.

“Kunj?” She called out, her voice almost a whisper as he turned around, her mind in a twirl, unable to decipher how she should even be feeling. Kunj simply blinked at her, not sure if she was actually standing in front of him. All he knew was that she had suddenly disappeared three years ago, and all her friends had turned a cold shoulder towards him. He had never figured what had gone wrong. He noticed Twinkle’s eyes begin to well up, confusing him further. Just as he was about to speak, Twinkle was dragged away by Yuvi, Yuvraj Luthra. Yuvi was a great friend of Twinkle for years and Kunj knew him well too, he could be sure that he saw hatred in Yuvi’s eyes for him just as he noticed Twinkle with him. But why, he wondered.

Kunj stood watching as Yuvi was talking non-stop to Twinkle while tagging her along. Twinkle, on the other hand, kept staring at Yuvi, while he spoke of how much everyone had missed her and were desperately waiting for her. She suddenly jerked her hand from his, bringing to a sudden halt. “How did you know I was coming?” She asked, glaring at him suspiciously. “Arrey, Leela aunty called up your official number, some random girl picked up and told her! Now Leela is the happiest person on Earth!” He explained and then got back to his rant, while Twinkle muttered to herself, cursing the moment when she had called Leela absent-mindedly from the landline phone on her table at her workplace one gloomy evening.

Yuvi didn’t stop speaking all along as he drove Twinkle to the Taneja mansion, where several people were excitedly waiting for her. It hadn’t gone unnoticed to him that she hadn’t spoken much, but he knew she needed time to come to terms with all that she had been facing alone, and all that she would have to face now that she was back in town. Leela welcomed her princess with teary eyes, blessing her with all the happiness in the world. She was careful not to mention anything about what had transpired, and saw to it that nobody else spoke about it too. Chinki and a few more of Twinkle’s friends, her uncle and aunt too were waiting for her. Leela observed her carefully, and noticed that she handled all of it extremely well, just like she had when she had suddenly decided to leave three years ago.

Leela ensured that Twinkle was soon sent to her room to take some rest, so that she wouldn’t have to face any embarrassment, and to ensure no old wounds would be scraped. Twinkle entered her room and looked around, the overwhelming feeling of being back home taking over her. She suddenly stopped when she noticed a drawer hadn’t been closed properly. She quickly pulled it open and immediately realised someone had been in there and had found it. Someone had found her secret diary.

That’s it for now guys. Do tell me what you think about it. I’ll be back real soon.

Lots of love
