“I wish I could touch you both for once,” Twinkle said and Kunj too looked on. Saying this Twinkle turned her back towards them and then went and sat on the bed. Kunj gestured Avantika and Kaal. Avantika came first and then took over Kunj’s body which caused her to show her real touchable form to Twinkle and not change Kunj’s voice or eyes color. “Twinkle,” she said to her, Twinkle who was sitting with her back towards them turned to face her and seeing her made her emotional. “Mumma I miss you so much, I could never see you but still,” she said.

“Beta just calm down, every person dies one or the other day, and till when would we be separated? One day, we all will meet in heaven,” Avantika said and Twinkle broke the hug and both shared a teary smile. “I miss you so much mumma,” she said. “I miss you too, but don’t you ever dare to take a big step to come to me, ab main itna bhi miss nahi karti,” (I don’t miss you that much) Avantika said and then caressed her hair and then left Kunj’s body. Kaal came and possessed his body taking his own shape, height, everything. “Twinkle, daddy ajuba came,” he said and she laughed.

It was the name by which she always called him in childhood. “And I also called mumma as mummy ajubi,” she said and they both laughed. “Beta hum tujhko chhor kar nahi gaye, jaanti hai na tu? Sab apni marzi ke bina marrtay hain,” (daughter we didn’t go leaving you, you know right? Everyone doesnt dies by their own will) he said. “Or jo rozz marrtay hain, unka Kya?” (And the ones who die daily, what about them?) Twinkle asked. “Aaj ke baad phir tum kabhi rozz rozz nahi marrogi, aaj ke baad sab theek rahega,” (After today, you won’t have to die daily, after today everything would be fine) he said and she placed her hand in front of him. “Promise?” She asked. “Promise,” he said placing his hand in her hand. She smiled.

“Aaplog ka jaana zaruri hai?” (About your departure, is it necessary?) She asked. “Hmm yeah, what to do?” He asked and she smiled sadly. “Daddy, what happens when someone moves on into the light?” She asked. “Some people see a very beautiful path ahead of them while some see their whole life in the form of flashback,” he told her. “And what did you both see?” She asked. “Both,” he said and she gave a tiny smile. “Okay, now I need to go, take care,” he said and left Kunj’s body and vanished along with Avantika. Kunj fell back on the bed. She covered him with the duvet.

Later, Twinkle was sitting on the balcony viewing the roads. “Daddy said that everything would be fine, did he meant I won’t have my eyes anymore? Because that’s the only way that I would stop seeing the mysterious man, but if my eyes are taken away from me, so that means I would have to be blind all over again, I will go in that darkness again, just now I have come back from there, I don’t want to go there once again, I don’t want to become a burden once again,” she said to herself.

Just then, she was engulfed in a tight embrace behind. She looked behind and saw Kunj. She looked back at the clear sky again. “You will always have your eyes, no need to be scared of that man anymore, and you also won’t have to go back to darkness and become a burden,” he told her. “That is what daddy said what I m saying, that I will get all my answers and I wouldn’t need to die everyday like this,” she said. “Because you will get your answers, that’s why,” he said and she smiled getting relieved.

“Thanks to God,” she said. “What about my thank you?” He asked. “Thank you Kunj, if you wouldn’t have been there, I wouldn’t have been able to touch my parents for one last time, also that I wouldn’t be so relieved,” she said and they smiled. “Uss mysterious man ke chakkar mein humne toh apni koshish bhi chhor di hai,” (We even left our trials because of that mysterious man) he said romantically whispering in her ear. She smiled closing her eyes. “Pehle mujhe mere jawab toh mil jaayein, phir koshisho’n ka silsila toh jaari hi rahega, or ek chhotu sa baby bhi hopefully aa hi jayega,” (First let me get my answers, then the process of these trials would be continued, and a small baby would also come hopefully) she said cutely. “Haan,” (yes) he said and they joined their foreheads.

Kunj came to the room later at night and saw Twinkle sitting lost in thoughts as usual. He went and sat beside her. “Hey, I want to tell you many things, just to keep your mind off him,” he said and she looked at him questioningly. “I will say one line, you complete it with another line and make a two line poem,” he said and she agreed. “Koi chaand rakh meri shaam par,” (Keep moon on my evening) he said. “Tu haath rakh mere haath par,” (you place your hand over my hand) she completed and had a laugh. “That was cute,” he said smilingly, she smiled back.

“Ishq nahi sochta ke maashooq kya chahti hai,” (love doesn’t thinks what Juliet thinks) he said and she thought for a while. “Tum aatay ho or dil mein ghantiyaan bajti hain,” (you arrive and there are bells ringing in my heart) she completed and they laughed. “How romantic that was,” he said and she laughed. “Teri yaadon se hi mil jaati raahat mujhko,” (I would’ve gotten relief by your memories only) he said and she thought for a while. “Tu jo aaya toh milgayi chahat mujhko,” (when you arrived, I gained love) she completed and they laughed more. “That was flop as well as romantic, because first it was about loneliness, then you said about his comeback,” he said and she giggled.

“Ek Teri khwaish hai bas… Kainaat Kisne maangi hai?” (I only wish for you… Who’s wishing for the world?) He said. “Karishma or Kareena Kisne maangi hai,” (who has asked for Karishma or Kareena?) she completed and they laughed. “It looks as if you’re taking my test,” she said. “No m not, let me think of another one, there are twenty minutes left for 12 o clock,” he said and got thinking. “Lagaya dil bohat, par Dil laga nahi,” (I tried attaching my heart somewhere else alot but it didn’t got attached) he said. “Aag lagayi bohat, par aag lagi nahi,” (I tried igniting the fire, but the fire didn’t ignite) she said and they giggled. “Reminds me of the first time you tried to light the stove,” he said and they laughed. “Bohat Sannata hai mere andar, koi ro ro Kar sogaya shayad,” (there’s a lot of silence inside me, maybe someone slept after crying) he said.

“Koi Bhoot hi hoga, Tang Kar Kar ke thak Gaya shayad,” (it might’ve been some ghost only, he might’ve been tired irritating you) she completed. “Looks like you’re a good poet, you’re a talent house,” he said playfully hitting her back and she smiled. “Main kisi ki samajh mein ajaun itni kisi ki samajh hi nahi,” (No one has such brains which can understand me) he said. “Tum mental jo ho, warna aqal ki kami nahi,” (As you’re mental else I don’t lack wisdom) she said and he gasped, she blushed. “Ek teri barabari ke liye khud ko kitna gira chuka hoon main,” (I have stooped so low to get equal with you) he said. “Itna chhota bhi kadd nahi Mera, Jo gir gir k bona banchukay ho tum,” (I m not that short, that after stooping low you’ve become a dwarf) she said and they shared a naughty glance.

Playing this game, Kunj had slept and again Twinkle was sitting lost in thoughts glancing at the clock every now and then. “Who can that man be?” She murmured to herself pacing to and fro in the room. She sat kneeling down resting her head on the bed. She stood up after sometime and then sat on the bed again switching the bedside lamp on and off again and again. “He hasn’t come till now,” she said to herself and palmed her mouth. Just then she was blinded by a bright light and then appeared the same man. She waited for him to speak up. “I am the angel of death, known by different names for different people of different religions, Yamraaj, Jibraeel, etc. You can see me because your eyes belong to someone else and that someone else has seen me while she was alive,” he answered and vanished.

(Looks like it was a boring story ?)
