Twinj: When I fell for you: Episode 41

Hello everyone… Ananya here. Thank you all so much for all the love you guys have been giving me…. I definitely wouldn’t have made it here if not for you all…
However, I think it’s high time to draw the curtains on this story, and so, I will be ending it soon. In an episode, or two, perhaps.

Twinj: When I fell for you: Episode 41

A quick recap: Twinkle’s secret meeting with Raj, accompanied by Rahul, Twinkle’s conversation with Leela and RT asking them to forgive her gang

Kunj had just entered the office, and walked straight to Twinkle’s cabin like he always did, without knocking. She had someone seated in front of her, and they had been discussing something, apparently business related stuff. The sudden opening of the door made both heads snap in his direction, and he regretted walking in like that.
“Oh! Mr. Sarna? What a lovely surprise! I thought I would miss my chance to meet you this time…” The man said, standing up and walking towards Kunj, who greeted him. “I had come to see Miss Taneja on this issue…” He continued, pointing at the papers on the table, assuming Kunj remembered them.
Kunj immediately walked over to Twinkle, pulled her closer by her waist, and corrected him, “Mrs. Twinkle Kunj Sarna…” The man looked on, slightly dazed, and left immediately after apologising.
“Kunj! What was that?” Twinkle asked, struggling to get out of his arms. Kunj gave her a weird look. “Now what?” She asked, and before Kunj could respond, a peon had entered the cabin, and Kunj had to let go of her.

“Mam, Raj sir has sent this for you” He said, forwarding a big brown envelope. Kunj immediately turned to Twinkle. “Raj?” He questioned, wondering why he would send her anything. Before either of them could take the envelope, someone else did. Twinj looked up to find Rahul standing there with the envelope.
“Not Raj, he wanted to say Rahul. I sent this for Twinkle. Some papers related to my work…” He said, sighing deeply, grateful that he had reached there right on time. The peon gave all three of them a weird look, which made Kunj doubt the besties further. “Let me see?” He asked for it, sounding more like ordering though. Rahul gulped hard. He couldn’t think of any way prevent that. “Kkkkkunj!” Twinkle stammered, knowing everything would be over if the envelope landed in Kunj’s hands. Kunj almost pulled it from Rahul’s hands, and stopped seeing the names on it. “To, Twinki… From, Raj” He read aloud, while Twinkle and Rahul’s eyes widened in horror. They were about to confess their deeds when Kunj’s phone rang. It was Manohar, asking him to meet him quickly. He left in a hurry, but not before giving the two another glare, and angrily throwing the envelope on the table.

Twinkle and Rahul closed their eyes as they heard the door bang after Kunj. He was definitely very angry. “This Raj is going to land us in trouble, Rahul… We need to do something, and fast. What’s in this?” Twinkle spoke, ripping open the envelope. Out came some legal documents, one of them, a marriage certificate. They looked up at each other, thinking of what they had to do next.

Kunj continually avoided Twinkle throughout the day. Even if the need arose, he kept it plain and simple, she could feel the indifference in his voice. She wondered what she should do now. She was trapped completely. If she revealed the secrets within that envelope, a bitter fight would ensue. If not, the cold ignorance would win. Although she had some official papers in her hands that she needed to work on immediately, she couldn’t concentrate the least bit.

Aman had been noticing them for some time, and knew that both of them needed some support right then, but when he encountered Kunj, he laughed it off, claiming everything was alright. So, he went over to Twinkle, and was pestering her to tell him what was going on, and an argument followed, when Kunj walked into the cabin. Both of them looked at him hopefully, anticipating that his anger would have cooled by then.
“Aman, tell your friend that I’m going home, and she might as well come once she’s done with her work…” He said, closing the door after him, while Twinkle and Aman stared at him wide eyed in wonder.

Before Twinkle could stop him, he had already left, she felt even more burdened now. When she finally reached home about an hour later, she refused any dinner, and went straight to their room. “Kunj! Listen!” She said, banging the door open, but her anger and frustration melted away as soon as she saw the setup of the room. It was dimly lit by fragrant candles all around, her favourite red roses increased the romantic aura.
As she admired the transformation the room had undergone, she felt two hands on her waist. “Hey! I’m sorry! I guess I overreacted! You know why I ask you a keep away from Raj, don’t you? He could be dangerous… Besides, I could never want history to repeat itself. But Rahul told me that you were totally unaware about that envelope you received this morning… So it’s not your fault after all…” He spoke slowly, while Twinkle could only think of one thing. A lie. Again. It had saved her for the time being, but would surely land her in deep trouble with even the slightest bit of carelessness.

Kunj’s hands on her waist were, however, creating havoc in her senses, sufficient to distract her from her thoughts. She dropped the bag she had been holding, and leaned backward, resting her head on his shoulder. “By the way, this is good enough for the apology, isn’t it?” Kunj asked, while she simply mumbled something, too lost to respond sensibly.
Kunj slowly loosened his grip and was about to step back, when she held onto his hands and pulled him closer to herself. “A few more minutes…. Please….” She whispered, inhaling his cologne, while he pushed all of her hair to one shoulder, and began kissing and nibbling at the other. She inhaled sharply as she felt his touch, and held his hands, which were still on her waist, firmly.

Kunj slowly twirled her around, getting lost in her lovely eyes, while Twinkle too was lost in his eyes. Kunj then leaned in closer to her, and placed gentle kisses on her forehead, eyes, cheeks, nose and then was about to back off, while Twinkle pulled him into the kiss, taking him by surprise. As they separated, panting for breath, Twinkle looked away, her cheeks turning crimson. “I’m going to call you my tigress now onwards… What say?” Kunj teased, while she hugged him, hiding her face. She turned to go, but before she even realised it, Kunj pulled her back, and lifted her up in his arms. He walked a few steps, and gently put her down on the bed, and taking his position beside her, covered themselves with the sheets.

Meanwhile, elsewhere.
“Are you sure this is going to work?” Raj asked, only to receive a cackling laughter from Alisha.
“Of course… Just wait and watch… The Sarejas should be counting their last few hours of happiness now…” She spoke with a wicked tone, while Raj quietly texted someone something.

At the Tanejas’, both moms and dads were present, and seemed to be in some deep discussion. After a long, thoughtful conversation, they had decided what need to be done.
“Had it not been for Alisha, we would have never been able to reach this decision… We need to be thankful to her…” RT spoke finally, just as they parted ways, all ready to face the next day.

The next morning, Twinkle was getting dressed up in front of the mirror, when Kunj woke up. He was lost yet again, seeing Twinkle in a saree. He slowly walked towards her, and pecked her cheek. “Good morning love…” He whispered, while she blushed recalling their previous night. “You’re looking so beautiful…” He continued, admiring her.
“Since today is a Sunday, and both families would be meet for lunch, we girls decided to wear sarees…” She explained, making out that to be the question running in his mind, while he simply nodded.

“And, do you want help with the dori of your blouse?” He asked smirking, leaning closer, engulfing her in a back hug. “Haww! Dirty mind…” She said, fake protesting, as they both smiled contently. Their moment was disturbed when they heard a knock at the door. “If it’s mom again, I swear I’m going to give her a piece of my mind…. ” Kunj muttered, while Twinkle giggled, proceeding to open the door.

“Alisha?” Twinkle’s voice drew Kunj’s attention, and he looked up at the door, and sure enough, the witch was right there. “Come in…” Twinkle said, making way for her, while Alisha politely denied, and told her that she had come for some work.
“About the divorce papers…” She began.
“Yes?” Twinkle asked impatiently, looking over to Kunj, who was now standing behind the door, not visible to Alisha.
“Have you signed them yet?” Twinkle had dreaded this question. She knew she would have to face it someday, but she hadn’t expected it to be so soon.
She looked at Kunj and then at Alisha, both of them waiting for the answer, one for the affirmative and the other for the negative. She gulped hard, and then finally spoke, “Yes”.
