I’m sorry for the delay. I had submitted the episode yesterday, but it had got rejected due to language related issues, and hence the delay.
Twinj: When I fell for you: Episode 20
A quick recap: Kunj and Twinkle’s early morning meeting, Twinkle’s first day at work
Kunj raised his head fearing the worst. His eyes still shut, “No.. it isn’t anything like that…” he blabbered.
“Chup kar! Dramebaaz!” He heard his visitor say, and then there was a loud laughter.
He immediately opened his eyes and was relieved to see that it was Yuvi. However, he wasn’t among the ones to submit to his teasing so easily.
“Oh! Look who’s blaming me…. Bhai you yourself are two hours late..” he pointed out, showing the clock.
“Di’s clinic is about 10 minutes from home, and from there office is about 20 minutes…” He began calculating.
“You won’t understand all this now Kunj! When your turn comes you’ll know.. Aakhir meri princess ko sambhalna itna aasaan jo nahi hai…” Yuvi defended himself. After a few more minutes of fun, they got back to work.
Back home that evening, Twinkle was excitedly chattering about her first day at work, when the Sarnas came in. The kids looked on confused, unable to think of any reason for this sudden formal meeting kind of atmosphere.
“Your Papa wants to speak about the previous night’s incident..” Leela slowly murmured to Twinkle.
Instantly, Twinkle’s mind was flooded by the memories of the previous night. She began to feel restless.
Soon, everyone was seated. Rahul, Chinki and Aman too were present.
“Whatever happened last night wasn’t right. Nevertheless, we cannot change what has already happened. But we can surely punish the person who was behind it. Also, we’ll have to make sure that none of us are affected by that incident..” Manohar said, making it clear that he didn’t want to discuss the incident again. This would be the first and last discussion regarding it, he had presumed.
“Of course uncle, but don’t you think that it is necessary for us to find out what Twinkle and Kunj have done such that the media started doubting their friendship, and called it love?”Alisha spoke, and everyone looked on in shock.
“Sorry uncle, I’m interrupting you and speaking in between. But I think there must be some mistake that Twinkle and Kunj have done. Coz there’s no smoke without fire..” she said, and was about to sit down next to Kunj, when Twinkle jumped at her.
“Who called you to attend our family meeting?” She roared.
“Who on Earth gave you the right to interfere into the issues of our house?” Kunj asked ferociously.
“Who the hell do you think you are to be pointing fingers at Twinkle and Kunj?” Yuvi fired at her.
RT sensed the heat rising.
“Enough. We aren’t here to discuss the past or current status of the relationship Kunj and Twinkle share. We are here solely to catch the culprit..” He said with a voice of finality.
“Alisha, you should know that it’s absolutely wrong to blame innocent people without any proof… And have you forgotten your etiquette to be poking your nose into our family matters like this?” Usha asked, her eyes fuming.
“Innocent? Whom are you calling innocent mummyji? Twinkle and Kunj? Arrey wah! You guys have done a great job of hiding the truth from everyone…
You won’t trust me just like this, will you? I knew it all along. That’s why I have come completely prepared, with proofs. I have some pictures which will expose these two before you. Hold on…” She said, looking into her purse for the photos.
Twinj immediately looked at each other. They had never crossed the line, they knew what their limits were. But, the improbability of their elders understanding them was frightening. Uncertainty loomed large.
Rahul looked at Chinki and Aman, who gave him a thumbs up. He instantly texted Kunj not to worry as they had taken care of this trouble.
Kunj walked over to Twinkle and spoke to her assuringly. “Hey! Don’t worry yaar! When we know that we haven’t done anything wrong, why should we be tensed?”
Twinkle looked on confused. “But..” She began. “Twinkle! I’ll always stand by you and for you. Don’t you trust me? I’ll handle anything that goes wrong… I’ll always be there for you even if the whole world gives up on you. I promise” He said. Twinkle nodded silently like an obedient child.
Leela and Usha happily looked on as they felt proud that their kids stood up for each other in times of need.
“Are you done with your drama? You are blaming them unfairly, aren’t you? All this is just a big, fat lie. There’s no proof or anything… She’s just creating nuisance…” Yuvi said. He had already killed her in his mind.
“No… You and Amaya know everything, right..?” Alisha tried to get everyone to believe her.
“Yes. We know everything. That’s why we are claiming that you are victimising them unfairly.. We know our siblings so well that you will not even have the slightest idea..” Amaya said, her anger evident in her voice.
Alisha now turned her purse inside out. But she still couldn’t find the photos. She looked on, defeated.
“If she’s done, shall we show our proofs to everyone Aman?” Rahul asked. Aman looked at Alisha for a brief moment before he went and brought a CD. He turned on the TV.
“What is all this?” Manohar asked.
“This looks like CCTV footage from yesterday’s event… Perhaps, this camera was placed at the entrance….” Chinki spoke, observing carefully.
Alisha’s face went pale. It looked like she had just seen a ghost.
Soon, they watched Rahul stopping Alisha at the gate, and forbidding her from coming inside. Alisha had caught hold of some employee of the Sarejas and promised him a big filthy amount to do her work. She had asked him to spread rumours in the hall that this wedding was just a way to cover up the broken relationship between Twinj.
There was also another footage which showed that employee doing just as he was told, and yet another, which showed Alisha giving him the promised money.
Now, all the eyes turned towards Alisha. She gulped thinking of the condition she would find herself after dealing with these people today. She looked around, thinking of some way to defend herself, when Manohar walked towards her.
“Alisha! Usha didn’t like you right from the beginning, and had warned me, but I thought that you would have imbibed atleast a little goodness from your twin brother, who is a gem of a person… But are just unbelievable..”
“Please forgive me, uncle. But, I have a request. Kindly don’t call this girl my sister. She doesn’t deserve it!” Aman said, his eyes red with anger. He had never imagined that she would stoop so low in her planning and plotting. His brotherly affection for her prevented him from thinking of her like that. But, that day, it was all broken.
“But Aman…” Alisha began, only to be cut off by Chinki.
“Enough. You’re crossing the limit now. There is no end to the list of all your crimes… If I start telling everyone..” Aman glared at her to stop. He knew that Alisha was a wounded lioness then. If they provoked her, she’d attack more fiercely than ever.
“If you are ever seen around us henceforth… You will see my worst side Alisha. I always gave you the same position that my Twinkle, Amaya and Chinki have, as the daughters of the house. But, you betrayed me. You’ll see your end if you are seen again” Leela warned her.
“Let her be Leela.. There’s no point in speaking to her..” RT calmed her down.
“Get out right now. Don’t come this way ever again” Manohar issued his ultimatum.
“Fine” Alisha said, rolling her eyes, and walked away. She had only reached the door, when Twinkle stopped her.
“Wait.. You are forgetting something..” she said walking to Alisha.
“I know everything that you have done.. If you don’t wish me to enlist all of that, then you better apologize to Kunj before leaving..” she whispered in her ear, as she handed her the purse she had dropped while looking for photos. Kunj, who had gone to stop Twinkle, heard this, and was shocked.
“I’m really sorry Kunj! I misused your friendship and gave you immense pain. I know that you will never be able to forgive me.. But if I didn’t apologize, then this will always remain a burden to me..” She said before Twinkle one final look and walking out of the house.
Soon, everyone smiled. They were happy that things had finally returned to normal. Happiness would soon return, they thought, and soon dispersed to their rooms, while the Sarnas went back home.
Twinkle went into her room and saw the picture of both families hanging on the wall, with many other photos. She smiled slightly. Alisha’s final look at her had ruined her peace of mind. She knew by that look that she wouldn’t give up so easily.
She sighed deeply at the thought that finally everyone was happy.
But, was she happy? Would she ever be happy again? With these thoughts occupying her mind, she went out into her balcony and stood watching the moon. There was something weird about that night. The wind was howling, dark clouds filled the sky, not a single star to be seen. She prayed that things get back to normal soon, and went in to sleep.
Meanwhile, at the Sarna mansion, Kunj was looking at the moon too. Twinkle had told Alisha that she knew everything, he wondered. “How would it affect them? Would things return to normal between them? How did Twinkle get to know everything?” These questions troubling him, he fell asleep right there…

I think you guys might have already guessed by today’s episode that the storyline will undergo a drastic change in the coming episode.
