Twinj: When I fell for you: Episode 14

A quick recap: Twinj’s memories unveiled at the dance event in the sangeet ceremony, Twinkle’s mysterious confusion.

“Haan yaar, of course. Twinkle, tujhe mujhse baat karne ke liye meri permission chahiye kya?” Chinki spoke, asking Twinkle to come inside, since she was standing at the door and had just asked Chinki if she could speak to her for a few minutes.
Not replying to that, she entered Chinki’s suite, and took a seat on the couch.
“Haan. Ab batao.” Chinki said, sitting next to her.

“Kya bataaoon? Kahan se shuru karoon? I have to tell you so many things…… I miss my bestie yaar” Twinkle said, tears brimming in her eyes.
“Arrey wah! Yeh accha hai. Tu khud busy ho gayi apne bhai ke shaadi mein, aur uske upar yeh keh rahi hai ki u miss me. Hmph… ”
“Paagal!”
The two hugged, and began talking about how much they had enjoyed the last few days, while the topic of discussion came to Twinkle’s sudden disappearance the previous day.

“Hum sirf itna jaante hain ki tumhari aur Alisha ki kuch baat hui thi. Uske baad kya hua? Tu kahan chali gayi thi? Pata hai sab kitne pareshan ho gaye the?” Chinki tried to get Twinkle to speak out, though she knew everything since Rahul had told them.
“Wo, Alisha subah mere kamre mein aayi thi…. Usne mujhse pehle to acche se baat kiya. Phir usne mujhpe Kunj ko usse cheen ne ki ilzaam lagayi.”

Flashback.
Twinkle was picking a dress to wear, while Alisha came into her suite. Initially she talked pleasantly, citing that it had been the first proper conversation they had, after Twinkle’s return to Amritsar.

She slowly revealed her actual intentions though.
“Twinkle! Do you know how much Kunj loved and cared for me until you came back? After you returned, he has started ignoring me. It looks like he is trying to make things like before with you, I mean, I know you both had been a lovely couple and all, but still…
Look Twinkle, I don’t have anyone on my side. You have your brother, parents, Chinki, Rahul, and also MY brother on your side. They all love you a lot and can do anything for you, but I am not as fortunate as you, no one supports me….
I was rotting in loneliness until one day, when Kunj and I became friends, and then gradually, we fell in love. U know that my parents think that I am worthless, they made me feel so unwanted. Kunj showed me how it feels like to be loved, and now you are snatching him from me….. ”

She began pushing everything around and created a mess. Twinkle convinced her to go out and talk since she was worried that the noise would bring people running to her suite.
Once they were in the garden, Alisha requested Twinkle to stay away from Kunj, lest she should commit suicide and Twinj would be responsible.
End of flashback.

Chinki was just staring at Twinkle’s face, she couldn’t find the right words.
“Tujhe kya laga Chinki, ki main dobara suicide ke baare mein soch rahi thi? Arrey nahi baba.. main to bas kuch der ke liye akele rehna chahti thi, isiliye sunset point pe chali gayi thi. Bhaiyu ki shadi ki khushiyon ko main aise thodi na barbaad kar deti…

Wo to lagta hai Rahul ne kuch zyada hi exaggerate kar diya… Main teek thi, par Rahul aake mujhe kuch bhi sunane laga, ki main kyun in dono ke beech mein ghus rahi hoon, Kunj to chahta hi hai ki mujhe dard ho, etc.
Tab mujhe takleef hone laga. Ajeeb ajeeb khayaal aane lage aur main ro padi bas..”

Chinki was totally taken aback. Twinkle was right, Rahul had exaggerated the issue too much.
(Hehe… Har baar jhatka dena zaroori thodi na hai… Iss baar mazak kar rahi thi.. kuch serious nahi hua..??)

“To ab kya karne ka socha hai tune Twinkle?”
“Uske baare mein jitna bhi sochu, sirf complicate ho raha hai… Kya karoon?”
Chinki convinced Twinkle that even she had noticed that things were not exactly good btwn Kunj and Alisha, and they don’t seem to love each other at all.
Twinkle seemed convinced and relieved, and walked away happily.

They didn’t have anything much to do that day, just preparations, since the marriage was on the next day. It was decided that they would hold a grand reception at Amritsar and invite all their business allies to it, since many of them couldn’t make it to Udaipur to attend the wedding.

In the evening, all the ladies were sitting with Amaya, giving her advice for wedded life, while the maidens laughed listening to their weird suggestions.
“Waise bhi Twinkle to tumhare paas hai hi Amaya puttar, tujhe Yuvi ki absence mein akelapan mehsoos nahi hone degi.” Leela assured her.
“Par kab tak ma? Jald se jald aap iski bhi shaadi kara dogi na? Aakhir mere bhai se kab tak iska intezaar karaoge aap?” Amaya said absentmindedly, while everyone watched with a shocked expression.
“Siyappa!” Chinki said. Twinkle pulled her from there, avoiding any eye contact with anyone, feeling awkward, more importantly, hiding the blush on her face.

Later, the kids were sitting around, discussing how their lives would change after this marriage. Amaya wouldn’t be their di, but their bhabhi, and that was just the beginning, for many other things would change too.
After talking for a long time, they got up and left, excited about the wedding.

“Twinkle!” Twinkle heard someone take her name as she walked down the corridor.
“Of course bro! And you think I will believe you.. ”
“I swear.”
Twinkle had recognised the pair of voices, they were none other than Kunj and Rahul respectively, but what had they been discussing about her, she wondered. As she went closer to listen, she was tripped on something, and the noise alerted the boys.

“Twinkle.. tu yaha? Abhi tak soyi nahi?” Rahul asked.
“Haan wo main abhi jaa hi rahi thi. Tum log mere baare mein kya baat kar rahe the?” She asked, suspicion evident in her voice. Kunj was avoiding eye contact, making it more obvious that they wouldn’t want her to know about it.
“Yahi ki…” Rahul began explaining.
“Kuch nahi. Kuch bhi nahi.” Kunj cut him short, glaring at Rahul.
“Haan… Of course kuch nahi..” Twinkle said, sarcasm dripping in her tone.
“Better speak up.” She warned.
“Alright…” Kunj began.
