Bakhuda Tumhi Ho-
Episode:9
——————————-
“Twinkle why do you keep doing things that provoke me to become a beast you don’t like!”, Kunj yelled.
“‘A BEAST THAT I DON’T LIKE!'”, She chuckled humorlessly. “Look at yourself Mr. Sarna! You. Are. Already. A. Beast. Look at you! Look at your life! No ‘normal’ human being will do the things you do! Which man in his right mind would marry a girl he knew nothing about just for the sake of the business and waste away intoxicating his body! You’ve no emotions, no feelings. You don’t even care about the people who love you! You. Are. A. Beast!”, With her words registering on his mind, his pain increased.
“We’ll talk about it later.”, He said holding his head and taking out his phone.
“Don’t you dare order more drugs.”, She stated sternly.

“What if I do?”, He asked folding his arms near chest.
“Then, I’ll move out of this house.”
“Go ahead!”, He said unaffected.
She smiled. “First listen the complete thing, Mr. Sarna! I’ll leave this house, within 3 days the press will come to know about it. Then your company, it’s reputation will be turned into ashes. Imagine the loss. And if someone ask me, I’ll tell them that you married me just to save a deal. So… Now you want to order more drugs?”, She asked in a mocking tone.
He angrily walked to her. “You wouldn’t dare!”
“Oh yes I’ll. Think about your father. This company is his sweat and blood. He won’t be able to bear if anything happens to it!”

Now he really flinched. He couldn’t imagine his dad in such a condition. “You know what, I thought you weren’t like all others but I was so blo*dy wrong!”, He shouted throwing his phone. “What do you want huh? Money? Property? Shares?”, He questioned coming straight to the point.
“Don’t you dare bring the ‘Money’ crap in between Mr. Sarna! What do you think huh? Being poor is always about being hungry, ragged or homeless! No Mr. Sarna, being poor is being Uncared, Unloved and Unhealthy which you’re!”, She countered pointing a finger at him. “You want to know what I want. Fine! I want you to take anti-drug therapy.”, She said folding her arms and looking straight in his eyes.

He was confused. “Out of all the things in the world, why would you want that?”, He interrogated suspiciously.
He knew his mentality. Even if she kept saying she was doing this for him, he would never believe. “I’m doing this for myself. I… I can’t see a drug addict as my husband.”
“We’re not real husband and wife! Remember!”

“What do you mean by ‘real’? Care to explain.”
“I… I mean…”, He was speechless. He was about to go but she held his hand.
“I’ve packed my bags. In case you say ‘No’ I’m leaving tomorrow. So you’ve time up til tomorrow morning. Think and answer wisely. And I wasn’t bluffing earlier. I’ll surely do what I said!”, She warned him and went to her side of bed leaving him in his thoughts.
“You say I’m a beast? Then why do I believe that you would love a beast like me without any ulterior motive? Tell me!”, He yelled.

Twinkle was taken aback by his question. What answer could she give for this?
“You know it’s very easy to say all this bookish things, give all those lectures but when it comes to dealing with the beast, nobody wants to stay. They leave just like you were doing now!”, He snapped. “You’re here because you still haven’t seen by worst side!”, He added.
“Then show me your worst side Kunj! Show me the beast! And if I stand through it you’ll have to do things my way!”, She said with full confidence even though she was freaking inside.
He smirked. “You don’t know what you’re asking!”, He said bending his head a little to come up to her height.

“No Kunj! I’ll make you realize that the whole world isn’t how you see it. Everything and everyone isn’t the way you think it is. When you judge people, it’s the representation of your character not theirs. I’m ready to face whatever it takes to make you agree for treatment.”
“I’m a sadist Twinkle. I derive pleasure by hurting people! Don’t be the object of my pleasure, my lust. It’ll break you!”, He said truthfully.

“But it’ll mend you.”, She said confidently.
“Fine then!”, He said and pushed her on the bed with her shoulders. “From today, this moment, I’ll hurt you, torture you every way possible, physically, mentally, emotionally but still, can you keep believing that there is a human in this sick, gruesome beast?”, He asked in a challenging tone.
Twinkle’s mind had numbed due to his words. She was too shocked to respond. The bed below her back felt the roughest surface ever!

His lips curved into a smirk as he moved back seeing her state. “You see it’s very easy to lecture people about things.”
He was about to leave when Twinkle held his wrist firmly. “I’m your wife. You’ve all the right on me and it’s not an immoral thing to submit yourself to your husband. You want to hurt me, do it but that won’t stop me from believing that there’s a good human being beneath this shell.”, She somehow managed to say.

With those words he leaned top of her to tear the mask of innocence off her face which he thought she was wearing! Twinkle shut her eyes letting the tears fall from her eyes in fear. A guilt built inside him as he noticed her tear stained face, her scared expressions. Kunj couldn’t take it, he couldn’t break her, he couldn’t be able to play with her dignity, he just couldn’t hurt her. Deep inside, his heart was yelling ‘To stop’ ‘To not vanish her innocence’. He back out! He abruptly got up leaving Twinkle in shock.

She wiping her tears stood up from bed with a proud smile. “We all have both good and bad inside us Kunj. And it depends upon us which side we choose to feed into!”
Kunj angrily threw the flower vase on floor in frustration. Twinkle flinched a little but didn’t let the fear come on her face.
“Why are you doing this Twinkle?”, He asked all of a sudden holding her by shoulders and pinning her to the wardrobe.

An involuntary hiss escaped her lips as her back hit the cupboard. He immediately left her and turned his face away. He was hardly controlling his anger and banged his wrist roughly on wall.
“Kunj! What’re you doing?”, Her voice lacing with concern as she took his wrist in her hands.
“Why you’re so concerned Twinkle? Tell me one good deed I did for you up til now? I married you forcefully. I behaved rudely with you. I hurt you and…”, He sighed hoping she would understand how futile her attempts were to change him and leave silently which was best for both of them.
“If not, you can do it now.”, She said quietly. “Say yes to anti-drug therapy.”

He turned his face away, thought for a minute and sighed in defeat. This woman had done for him more than he deserved. She trusted him. She decided to submit herself only for sake of HIM. He could do this much for her or at least try. He walked to the bed and sat with his head in his hands. In an attempt to hurt her, he was about to do things against his conscience for which he was in heavy guilt. He had never forced a girl or disrespected her the way he was about to do with Twinkle. “I agree.” He said loud enough for her to hear.

Night-
“Why does she want this? Is she really concerned about me? No! She clearly stated that she’s doing this for herself.” He thought about his dad, Yuvraj and all the important people in his life. “Is she right? Have I always just hurt them?” He went to his side of bed and fall asleep not knowing what’s coming his way and not understanding where to go.

Morning-
Kunj got up early. Actually he didn’t sleep the whole night thinking about her words. He just sat on couch thinking what to do. He knew how difficult it would be. Twinkle got up after sometime.
She was surprised to see him sitting like that with a blank expression.
“Good Morning.”, She sat beside him and wished smiling like nothing wrong has ever happened between them while he just nodded.
She was about to get up, “Twinkle.”, He called.
“Haan!”

“Why are you doing this?”, He asked. His voice full of confusion and pain.
“I… I told you last night.”
“I don’t find that answer true.”
“Your problem.”
“Twinkle…”, He took her both hands in his hands . “What makes you think you can cure me?”
“So that means, you’re agreeing for treatment?”, She asked. Happiness threatening to explode from her face.
“You didn’t leave me another choice. So…”
Before he could complete, she hugged him tight. “Oh wow! Thank you. I knew it!”, She cooed but he couldn’t understand the reason of her excitement. Yet seeing her so much happy, brought a smile on his face too.

“So… You didn’t answer my question. What makes you think you can cure m
“What make YOU think I CANNOT?”
“Huh?”
“See. Trying is the first step towards accomplishment. So why not try? And you tell me why are you so hopeless when it comes to treatment?”
“First of all, I’m addicted from 6 to 7 years and second…”, He looked at her face and she gestured him to continue.
“It… It makes my pain go away.”
“But it’s not curing the pain. It’s just… Running away from the pain… It’s cowardliness. And the thing about being addicted from 7 years, no matter how long we’ve travelled in the wrong direction. We can always turn around.”

“It makes me feel lively.”
“Lively? But you’re not dead yet. In fact they’re the ones, KILLING YOU.”
He looked at her, and smiled. “There’s no winning with you.”
“Gift of your accompany.”
“So… Get up and get ready. We’re going for a walk.”, She commanded in a doctor’s mode.
Life is going to be better. Everything is going to be better.

“Why?”
“Because exercises decrease cravings. Your urge to take drugs will be less. And one more thing, from today onwards, you’ll come with me on a morning and evening walk, eat only healthy, home-made food. And whatever happens, avoid tablets, may it be painkillers, sleeping pills or anything else. Also don’t get angry on small things. It stresses the brain which isn’t good.”, She said excitedly.
“Yes doctor!”, He said saluting her. “But you know the chef doesn’t make the good food at home. He’s just…”
“Professional?”, She completed.
“Yeah!”

“No problem! I’ll make food for you from now onwards. And trust me, I cook the best Indian cuisine you’ve ever had.”, She proudly said.
There was a knock on the door. Both straightened themselves. “Sir breakfast is ready.” The maid told.
“We’re coming.”
Both have their breakfast in silence. Not awkward or tensed silence but comfortable silence. All the time, he secretly gazed at her.
“Ok. I should leave.”

“Hmmm. And remember what I told you.”
“Yes, I will.”, He assured her with a smile.

Office-
Whole day at the office was smooth. He didn’t snap at anyone or show anger on petty things. Whole staff was surprised as well as relieved at his change of behavior.
Manohar came in the cabin with a worried look. “Son, are you alright?”, He asked putting the back of his hand on his forehead to check temperature.
“Ya! What happened?”
“That’s the problem. Nothing happened. The staff told me you didn’t shout at anyone nor did you fire anyone from job or…”

“Dad! Not now. We’ll talk later. I’ve to complete this presentation before the meeting. I’ve only an hour.”, He said keeping his eyes glued to the laptop.
Just then, the intercom rang. “Ya! What’s it?”
“Sir someone is here to meet you.”
“Tell them to wait and don’t call me up til the meeting gets over. It’s that clear!”, He ordered strictly.
“Yes sir.”, The receptionist said and hung up.

“What did he say?”, Twinkle asked.
“He said in fact ordered not to disturb him up til the meeting gets over.”
“What?”, She asked in disbelief. “Call him again and say that it’s me! Twinkle!”
“Sorry ma’am. He has given strict warning and I don’t want to lose my job.”
She sighed. “How long I’ve to wait?”
“Actually the meeting will start in an hour after that, a few hours.”
“How could he!”, She stomped. “Now I’ll have to find some other way to get into his cabin.”, She murmured smirking evilly. “You’ve underestimated me Mr. Sarna.”
“Oh my God! Look!”, Twinkle shouted.
“What happened?” The receptionist asked startled.

“Look at your kohl. It’s spread all over your face! And you’re looking… Yuk… Ghostly!”
Girl’s expressions changed as if she has seen a ghost. She hurriedly searched through her purse for a mirror.
“Shit! I thought she’ll rush to the washroom mirror and I’ll go to Kunj.”, She thought as her plan backfired.

She saw her face in the mirror and saw no kohl. “Hey! No kohl is…”
She looked around to find Twinkle but she was running towards the lift.
“Hey stop. You can’t go like this!”, By the time she came, the lift door closed. Luckily Kunj’s cabin was on the floor just above the ground floor.
The receptionist ran through the stairs to stop Twinkle because she knew if she reached the cabin, she would lose her job!

Twinkle stormed in the cabin without knocking and just behind her was the receptionist. Kunj was startled by the sound of opening the door. He looked up and was surprised to see Twinkle rushing in and breathing heavily.
“I’m really sorry sir. I… I tried to stop her but she…”
“It’s Ok. You may go.” The receptionist was surprised by his calm behavior. Normally, he would never spare anyone entering his cabin like this! Twinkle gave her a fake smile and gestured her to leave.

“You here?”, He asked but internally he was doing happy dance that she came.
She lifted a small bag. “Tiffin! As I promised.”, She sang most of it.
“I didn’t know you were so serious at morning.”
“Now you tell me, why were you ignoring me?”

“I wasn’t ignoring you. This presentation must be completed in 45 minutes so I didn’t want any disturbance. But still if I had known it was you, I would’ve asked her to send you up.”, He explained. His eyes still glued to laptop.
“Ok then. Take a break. Have lunch and then you can continue.”
“I can’t. You keep the tiffin here. I’ll eat after the meeting.”
“No way! I don’t trust you. You’ve to eat it now in front of me!”
“My hands aren’t free Twinkle. I. Can’t. Stop. Working.”, He said helplessly.
“Ok. Your hands aren’t free. But your mouth is! Right?”, He was confused.
She opened the tiffin. “I’ll feed you. Don’t think much… I’m just doing a favor. Ok!”
“Twinkle I said na…”
“Open your mouth Aaaaaa.”, Before he could continue, food was in his mouth.
“Kabhi kabhi normal insaan jaise behave kiya karo. It feels good.”
He scowled to listen it. “What do you mean by ‘normal’?”
“Ummm. Forget it and tell me how’s the food?”
The home-made food brought back a memory.

‘At the dinning table.
“Usha we’ll find the most beautiful girl for Kunj.”, Manohar smiled looking at Kunj.
“No! No! I want a girl who is a good cook and not beautiful.”
“Mom!”
“You’re not understanding son! This beauty fades with time but hunger stays always.”
Both laughed at her logic.
Flashback ends’

He smiled sadly. She tapped his shoulder to get his attention. “I asked how’s the food?”
“It’s… It’s fine.” She huffed. She continued to feed him while he kept working on his presentation.

After completing lunch. She got up to leave. “Ok. I should leave and by the way you’ve very irritating receptionist.”, She said making faces.
“It’s her job to prevent people from gate crashing my cabin!”, He retorted.
“I. Am. Not. Someone. I’m your WIFE and yes from today onwards I’m going to come here everyday so you better inform her beforehand.”, She angrily spoke and moved out.
He smiled at her unpredictable behavior.
After sometime, he felt tremors in his hands. He panicked “No!”. Sweat beads started forming on his forehead. His body was craving for drugs. He could no longer concentrate on anything!

Thank you for reading!

Pheww! That was longer than usual. So Kunj has finally agreed for treatment. But is that so simple? Will Kunj will be able to heal or will he give up? Well. Well. Like I always say, don’t stress yourself and wait for next one. Also someone had requested me for not showing Kunj as a beast (I don’t remember name) hopefully I’ve fulfilled her wish by not showing Kunj forcing himself on Twinkle because personally I too hate that. Anyways, shoot your comments if you want 10th episode by Sunday night and if you think I’m bribing you than yes I’m *winks* after all itne mehnat ke hai bachi ney thori tou tareef bante hai na XD
