He looked into her eyes and keeps staring. Their eye lock was broken by a voice. “Twinkle! You here? What a pleasant surprise.”
Both turned to see Rishab and an old man standing there. Kunj stiffened seeing Rishab and walked straight to the old man ignoring Rishab. “Hello Mr. Kumar. I was waiting for you.”
“Hello young man! And this is…..?” He asked looking at Twinkle.
Kunj gave him an ‘Are-you-serious’ look and yelled in mind, ‘you dumb old man, I married her to save this deal with you! Not that I regret it but still!’
He faked a smile and gestured Twinkle to come forward. “Mr. Kumar, this is Twinkle…. Twinkle Kunj Sarna, my wife. You were in US so you didn’t know.”
“Hello.” Twinkle greeted him.
“Oh! So you’re the lucky one! It’s a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Sarna!” He said excitedly.
She smiled. “Ok! I should leave now.”
She walked past Mr. Kumar and went to Rishab. “Rishab! Next time, don’t make my husband wait for so long.” Rishab nodded reluctantly.
She then moved her gaze to Kunj. “Bye Kunj. Take care!” Kunj smiled brightly while she left from there.
Everyone called him by his name but her saying it made it sound so special. Kunj smiled reconciling her concerned words ‘don’t make my husband wait for so long.’ Even though he didn’t like her talking to Rishab but those words brought a strange sense of happiness inside him. Within few seconds, all three walked to the conference room.
The meeting went on smoothly. After about two hours Kumar spoke, “All done. Young man! Congrats for your wedding. I thought you would never stop and settle down. But I guess Love heals the greatest of the wound and changes the worst of people.”
Rishab was just sitting with his head in a file. None of them noticed he broke the wooden pencil in his hand to seal the anger burning inside him.
“Ok then. I’ll take a leave and soon documentation work will start.” Kumar said and left, leaving Kunj and Rishab to themselves. Kunj picked up his laptop and was about to leave when Rishab’s voice interrupted, “Wow! You look happy nowadays Kunj. Looks like you forgot everything. Right?”
“I don’t forget things Rishab. I just learn to forget them and move on.”
“Oh ya! Move on with Twinkle and forget Kalpana whom you claimed to love so much. Nice.”
And Kunj lost it!
He grabbed Rishab’s collar. “Don’t you dare take her name with your filthy mouth. You basta*d!”
Rishab smirked. “Who’s name huh? Twinkle or Kalpana? Well. Well. Well. I wasn’t here to fight.” He said removing his hands from his collar. “I just wanted to remind you that happiness fears you. Love hates you. Trust betrays you and everyone you claim to LOVE, LEAVES you or DIES!”
Saying this he walked out leaving Kunj drowned in his pain the same way he had done 7 years ago.

Home-
Twinkle tried talking to Kunj but he ignored her all the time. She thought, ‘Maybe today he’s just too tired. Today was the meeting na!’ But observant as she was within few hours she realized he was IGNORING her!
“Kunj I’ve made your favorite ‘Shahi Paneer with extra butter’.”
He was so much all excited that for a few minutes, he forgot about his resolution. “What are you saying? Are you…”
Just then, he realized what he was doing and he just nodded. ‘What’re you doing Kunj. No! She’s too good, pure and innocent. I can’t drag her in the same hell as me!’ he thought. Rishab’s words were still ringing in his head,
‘happiness fears you.
Love hates you.
Trust betrays you.
And everyone you claim to LOVE,
LEAVES you or DIES!’
“Ok so come.” Both had their dinner in silence. Twinkle tried to talk many times but all she got was a nod or a yes-no answer.
After dinner, Kunj had too much pressure on his mind, all that on his mind was…
‘Is he right?’
His words rang in his head like they were being said again and again.
He clutched his head tightly to relieve the unbearable pain but nothing happened. Just then, Twinkle came inside the room and saw him like that.
“Kunj are you Ok?” She asked worriedly.
“Ya! I’m fine.” He answered and got up to leave.
“Kunj where are you going!” But he didn’t respond.
After walking up til the door, he could hardly see. His eyes were losing it. The headache, pain, uneven breathing, paranoia but still he didn’t stop.
She held his hand and pulled him back. “Kunj stop pushing me away! Beacuse wherever you go, I WILL follow you! Whatever you do, I’m not leaving you alone!” She yelled frustrated by his childish behavior and her voice was a mixture of tears and anger.
He stopped and looked at her for a few seconds but then turned his face. “Who told you I was pushing you away?”
“I can see it! So don’t lie!” He held his hand, walked inside and sat on the couch.
He was breathing heavily and panting while Twinkle could see him sweating all over. His headache and pain was making it worse.
He hadn’t taken drugs as he had promised, but his body couldn’t bear the sudden change. He was getting another panic attack! “Kunj try to calm down.” She said hardly controlling her tears.
“I… I c… Can’t.” He managed to say still clutching his head and at this point Twinkle cursed herself for putting him in such a situation.
“Tell me what can I do?”
“Just distract me. Prattle about something unimportant up til I calm down!”
She didn’t understand half of his words but just understood one thing… He shouldn’t think about anything now…
He was still rubbing his temples to get some relief from the horrible feeling when Twinkle pulled him to her and crashed her lips to his. He was shocked by her sudden gesture but soon his mind was totally diverted to the kiss. Her soft, plump lips, her body fragrance, the warmth radiating from her body was making it irresistible. He started kissing her back. Her soft lips against his was indeed the most distracting, the most beautiful feeling. He was a Casanova but still he had never felt such pleasure and warmth with any other woman. He moulded his lips with hers pulling her closer.
They pulled away to catch their breaths. It was too awkward. Twinkle wanted to ask him if he was feeling better but she turned her face to the opposite direction not wanting to face him again. He was calmed down by now.
Twinkle still didn’t turn around but she could feel him leaning closer. She could feel his breath on her shoulders which was giving her ghoosebumbs all over the body.
He came closer to her and whispered in her ears, “I’m already addicted enough. I don’t need any more addiction so never do that again.” Saying this he got up from the couch and left.
She sat there confused because she didn’t understand half of his words.

Morning-
Twinkle woke up to find him working on his laptop sitting on the couch.
After last night kiss, things got awkward between them. He noticed her waking up but ignored it. She got up from the bed and sat beside him.
He still didn’t say anything. “Kunj!” He called slowly.
“Hmmm.” He replied without moving his eyes from the laptop.
“Why are you ignoring me like this? It’s hurting me.” She said but at the end her voice betrayed her and tears started rolling from her eyes.
His fingers stopped whatever they were doing and his head snapped in her direction. Sure enough, she was crying.
He pushed the laptop a little far and encircled both his arms around her shoulders pulling her into his chest.
“This is why I was ignoring you Twinkle!” He said in a painful voice. “I didn’t want you to grow so much attached to me! Because everyone who does, SUFFERS.”
“Who told you that?”
“I’ve seen that. I’ve felt that.” He said trying best not to touch her while her head was still on his chest.
“Kunj this is your misconception. And even if it’s true, it’s too late now! I can’t think of living without you. Don’t ignore me like that! I feel like you’re punishing me for something.”
“Twinkle! It’s not your fault. I just can’t.”
“If something so bad really happened, why don’t you forget it?”
He stiffened at her words but tried to maintain his calm posture. “Twinkle! I already forgot the incidents. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to forget the lessons they gave me.”
“That’s what I’m saying Kunj!” She said calmly. “Stop letting your past control your present and future. Because your past can’t be edited erased, changed or forgotten. It can only be accepted, the way it is. Can’t you just try… For once… For me!” She said hopefully.
He thought he could never be able to do this. But he couldn’t deny that there were many things that seemed impossible to him and she made him do it! “I… I’ll try.” He said still unsure.
She smiled and snuggled more into his chest. This time he didn’t pull away, but held her tighter in his embrace like it was the best place to be.
To divert the subject, he asked, “Twinkle have you planned anything for your future? I mean… You wouldn’t be wanting to be a doctor in Care & Cure hospital all your life!”
She smiled. “Kunj I know it sounds cliché but healing people is the thing I love. I adore. It gives me immense happiness and peace of mind. And about my aim, I want to launch a Cancer Research Institute, Asia’s biggest Cancer research institute! So that no one dies of Cancer like…” She stopped as she realized what she was doing.
“Like?” Kunj inquired.
“Where do YOU see yourself after 10 years?” She asked to divert the topic.
“Dead in the grave. Peaceful and contended.” He said smiling sadly.
She felt like someone had scathed every fabric in her body with a sharp knife. That’s so much his words hurt her. How easily he said those words, without realizing how much harm they could do to her pure, loving heart.
She fisted the paper weight in her hand so tightly that it hurt.
He saw her horrifying expression and replayed his words in his mind. Then he realized how plain, rude and tormenting they were. “Twinkle I…” He tried to explain but she angrily got up to leave.
He caught her wrist to stop her. She turned her face because tears were still flowing. “Leave my hand.” She said angrily. Or tried to sound like that.
“Sit.” He said and gently pulled her back to the couch. “Twinkle… I… I wouldn’t apologizing to what I just said.” He said honestly. “That’s the truth.”
“How can you be so sure?” She asked.
“I’ll ask you one question. Answer wisely. Twinkle if someone gave you a choice, first option is you’ll be healthy, fit and strong and invincible and immune to all kind of pain but you would live only for the next 30 years.
And the second option, you would live as much as you want but every moment with so much pain and suffering that you find death peaceful.
What would you choose?”
“It’s no choice for me at all Kunj. I would always go for the second option like everyone in the world does. Because life and death are in God’s hands and not us humans. And pain… Everybody has their share of pain and what doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger. Pain is INEVITABLE but suffering is OPTIONAL. You chose to suffer, everyone grows immune to go their pain.”
“Well Twinkle as for me, I would choose the first option. Because I’m already 26 and after 30 years means 56 years. Give or take 2-3 years. Normal, healthy people today die at the age of 60. So what’s wrong?”
“I’m not so much practical like you Kunj and neither I’ve planned so much about life. I may die tomorrow, after 10 years or live 100 more years. But all I can say is you’re wrong in thinking so. For me health is the greatest thing and contentment is the greatest wealth. I can’t live without both of them. At some point or the other, you would’ve been strong enough to bear that pain Kunj. But instead you chose running away and see where it has brought you. It has made you something that cannot be reversed or undone!” She cleared honestly and waited for him to react.
It took few minutes for the words to sink in. He looked into her eyes, “I had made a choice long ago Twinkle. I’ll have to bear the consequences.”
“What if we could change it?” She asked looking back into his eyes.
“Huh!”
“Kunj! You don’t want that anymore right? You want to live now right?”
He just nodded. Because it has really been a long time he has LIVED, he was just existing, only breathing, nothing else.
“Yes Twinkle. I’ll do anything for it!” He said desperately.
“Ok then! We’ll go through it together. So… The first thing to do is to accept this change from your heart.”
“I… I didn’t understand.”
“Ok, I’ll explain you. If an egg is broken by outside force, life inside ends. But… If broken by inside force, life begins. Great things always begins from inside. If your heart agrees, it’s half done.”
“Hmmm.” He said eagerly.
“Ok. To heal a wound, you’ve to stop touching it. So… The first thing to do is. Let go of your past.” As she said those words, he left her hands turning his head to other direction.
Now, Twinkle went closer to him, held his face in his palms. “Why not?” She asked softly.
“What do you think? I haven’t tried to forget anything at all?” He questioned removing her hands from his face.
“That’s the thing Kunj! Past cannot be erased, changed, undone or forgotten. It can only be accepted. I’m not asking you to forget it. I’m asking you to accept it, the way it is and let go of it!”
“How?”
She sighed. “I’ve a way.” She said all excited in the Twinkle-mode. “Just wait!” She started and went running to fetch something. “I always do this and it always works!” Saying this she brought a paper, pen and gave it to him. “To start with, write on this whatever is bothering you.”
“Why?” He asked confused.
“You write na. Then I’ll tell you. And wait a minute.” She said turning her face to other way. Now her back was facing Kunj. “Place that paper on my back and write so that you’re guaranteed that I won’t see it.”
“Ok.” He agreed and now when he was sure that she won’t see, then he honestly wrote his fears, his anger, his worries, the hurting parts everything.
“Are you done?” She asked getting bored.
“Ya just a minute.” He spoke and continued to write. After he was done writing a complete long page of his miseries! He asked Twinkle, “now?”
“Fold it nicely.” He did. “Now do with it whatever you want to do with these bad memories.”
And without a second thought, Kunj crushed that paper and tore it into pieces.
“Ya very good.” She appreciated but he didn’t stop. He took a lighter and set those pieces into fire!
“Kunj it’s enough of…”
“Please wait I’m not done yet!” He said picking up the ash of the now-burned pieces and threw it out of the window where it flew with the wind in different directions! After finishing his work, he let out a deep sigh.
“Kunj wasn’t it too much?” She asked completely amused making Kunj smile.
“How do you feel now?” She questioned.
“Well. I don’t believe in such stupid things but… I don’t know why… But I AM FEELING BETTER.” He answered surprisingly.
“Twinkle!”
“Hmmm?”
“I’m feeling sleepy.”
‘Off course you would be. You were waking up all night!’ She thought.
“It’s 9 in the morning?” She said like a question.
“Will you help me?” She asked, a clear request in his voice. “Well. If you’ve to go to the hospital then it’s Ok, I’ll…”
“Come.” She said smiling and as much as he could see, her cheeks had a slight tinge of red.
He slept peacefully in her arms and whenever he was confronted by his inner pain and evil, her positivity and purity overcome his pain and proved to be stronger than them.
This happened night after night and every time came with a promise of a better and less painful next time. Kunj was gradually getting over his visions and nightmares. But he still needed minimal amount of dosage to maintain his stability.
***

Somewhere else in the same city….
A huge mansion is shown. A man is standing at the window and angrily staring outside. The image of Twinkle and Kunj laughing, holding each other, smiling are coming to his mind and he can’t stand it.
“After destroying MY HAPPINESS, you can’t live in peace Kunj! You just can’t! I won’t let you!”
There was a knock on the door. He turned his head, a servant was standing there.
“Sir Chayya ma’am is here”
“Send her in.” He said getting angrier.
Chayya stepped inside closing the door behind. “Rishab, I…”
Before she could complete, Rishab aggressively held her neck suffocating her! She was shocked and out of breath. “You’re just useless! 1 work! Just 1 work! You can’t even do that!”
Chayya was suffocating. He left her with a jerk making her cough due to breathlessness.
“Kunj is already a rich spoiled brat and your work was to keep him like that! Provide him with drinks, drugs and your body. Taint his reputation and provide me all the information regarding his company! 2 years ago when I came to know about your interest in him, it was ME who picked you from trash! And gave you money and a lifestyle which a girl like you couldn’t even imagine! And this is how you repay me!” He roared making his eyes go red in anger.
Chayya felt threatened by the tone of his voice. “What do you think Rishab? That I haven’t tried! No Rishab! I’ve been trying to woo him since 2 years and it has been working but…”
“But what?”
“After his marriage, he has changed.” She slowly answered. “He… He drinks very less and doesn’t even touch cocaine.”
Rishab’s head snapped to her direction. “Sleeps with you?”
“No.” She mumbled but strong enough to make him listen. “But you don’t worry. I… I’ll try harder.”
“Please do.” He said with a smirk placing her hair behind her ear. “Because if not then, there are many other men I can make interested in you.” He added in a dangerously low voice.
Chayya shivered with his words and was really afraid. “Don’t get me wrong but I… I’ve to stay around him to do something Rishab.” She said and waited for him to react. He sighed and pulled his phone out of his pocket.
“Hello, please inform Mr. Sarna that I’ve finalized the new interior designer for our upcoming project.” He after completing disconnected the call.
“From tomorrow you’ll be around him for as long as he stays in the office. But remember Chayya, don’t you dare double cross me!”
“I… I won’t.” She stuttered and left.
‘Twinkle! You snatched my Kunj from me! Now I’ll show you what’s the pain of losing someone you love is! These are going to be your LAST few days with MY Kunj.’ She thought walking towards her car.

Thank you very much for reading!
Woah! Chayya and Rishab are in same party. What do you think Chayya will do? Rishab is really clever and his move was smart enough! Well don’t stress yourself and look at the brighter side of the episode like their ‘first kiss’, that was unexpected though but I guess first kiss is always unexpected *tears of joy* and as per your wish I brought change in that part. You won’t believe but honestly it was first time when I’ve shown a kiss in my story. I’ve never ever wrote such kind of scene, but now I wanted to give it a try ‘looks like bachi spoil horahe hai’ *winks*. How was Twinkle’s idea of writing all bad memories in paper, I personally loved it and it reminded me of Jab we met scene even though it was completely different. Apologizing to all commenters as I didn’t get time to reply but I read all your views and seriously I’m overwhelmed, “thank you” is such a tiny word to express my gratitude. Keep showering your love like this because your feedbacks are like energy booster which recharge me to write, no matter how much I’m tired. I’ll try to post 13th episode by Friday In’shaAllah till then spread love, spread happiness!
Keep smiling:-)
Love you all<3
Take care!
