TV actress Lakshmi Reddy was arrested on 28th April 2021 on charges of cheating a businesswoman.
According to the reports Lakshmi took 85 Lakhs from Sindhura Reddy in the name of investment into real estate. She neither developed the property nor return her money. Police have also arrested a woman named Jayanti Goud who was threatening the victim on behalf of Lakshmi.
Lakshmi’s husband approached Sindhura Reddy and invited her to make the investment. He told the victim that he owns four acres of land valued 100 crore in the Gandipet area of Hyderabad. He also added that he has plans to build a swimming pool, pub, and game zone there.
Sindhura Reddy, in her complaint to the police, said that she gave the money in cash and cheques in 2017 but no construction was taken up. When she demanded her money back, they started threatening her.
Sindhura Reddy lodged a complaint with Raidurgam police station on April 19th. The police registered a case of cheating and took up an investigation.
