After some days,
In Lakshmila’s chamber ,
Lakshman is sitting on the stool facing the balcony and the whole moon is visible….the room is lit very dimly except for some candles and the light of moon. He is holding Urmila’s sardine(dupatta) which she was wearing when she left for heavenly abode..
L(looking at the moon):- Urmi, for the world you are gone but for me you are always there. Since the day I met you, I experienced nothing but absolute bliss. I thought my life meant nothing other than Ram bhaiya , much to his distaste , but the day I met you was the day it all changed…
By now, Lakshman’s face was drenched in tears , his lips were trembling and nose , eyes and cheeks were deep red due to continuous crying. It was only the night , he cried as in the daytime , he kept him busy with work. He never showed his grief to anyone –except the moon(as he saw Urmila in the moon). It was like the 14 yrs have come back..
L:- You came like a revolution, liked a gust of cool wind in baking hot desert. You freed my soul Mila , you gave my life, my being , my emotions the intensity and direction they never had..n now you are gone. You have pushed me into the room of darkness . Now who will take me out of here?? Who???
Lakshman burst out crying holding Urmila’s dupatta near to his heart. Suddenly, his eyes fell on her portrait.
L:- Fourteen years of separation , abandonment , wait and again so much pain..this unexplainable fire of rage , remorse , loss and loath is burning through me. I too wanna die Mila!!! I too wanna die……
“No, you can’t “ he heard a voice. He recognized it in no time , it was her voice. Urmila’s voice!!!! Lakshman turned to the back and saw Urmila standing there, fine…..He ran towards to touch her , to envelop her in an embrace….but,
U:- No, please don’t do that!!!
L:- Why???Urmi, you are back..I am so happy….ang and Chandra will be so glad to see u there…
U:- They won’t be able to see me Soumitra……only you can see me ‘coz I m inside u …..I dwell in ur memories, in ur heart..
L:- I know , Mila!!! I tell myself each day that you will not come back..but then thought crosses my mind that now I won’t be able to touch you, to hug you and to run my fingers through your hair. These sky and land are nothing without you ,Urmi….Please come back. I know you are upset and annoyed as I fought with you and called you mirchi. But I swear , I will never do that again, Please come back..Please!!!!!!

Yu rooth ke jaate nahi…….

U(crying):- I am not annoyed ,Mendak ……..but everyone has to go right??You have to be strong, very strong. Bye…Bye…….
L:- No, you can’t go!!!Mila, I will not let you go this time!!!
Urmila kept looking in his eyes and taking steps backwards. Lakshman walked towards her and as soon as he touched her she disappeared into the thin air. Lakshman collapsed on the floor making a thud. Ram heard it and came running to Lakshman’s chamber..
