She realised something was wrong with her husband today.She took Lakshman to their chambers and made him sit next to her . Cupping her hand on his cheeks,

U:- Soumitra,its not that I don’t know this place or I’ve never been outside without you.Then why aren’t you letting me go?You know right,I don’t like it when someone curtails me..

L:- Mila,I know that.But its just that I am not really having a good feeling about today. Its one of those dark days,I feel.

U:- Why,Soumitra??

L:- I don’t know ,Urmi.I just feel as if something wrong is going to happen.

Urmila put up a pity smile..

U:- Swami,stop being so childish . Why should any of us have any trouble?We all are together.

Lakshman put his head in her lap and she caressed his hair .His voice dropped n tears ran down his eyes.

L:- Mila,I’ve already lost my mother like bhabhi.You,Bhaiya n family are my life now.You are the only ones I look upto and look after.I don’t want anything to happen to any of you…

Urmila made him look up.

U:- Swami,none of us wants the other to be harmed.But trust me,if you behave like this,we all will feel hurt.You are the strongest one in the family and here you…

L:- Urmi,for all these years,I haven’t been able to give you anything that you expected n were entitled to …and I myself have troubled you so many times.For once Urmi,let me keep you safe and well.

Urmila’s eyes watered up.

U:- Soumitra,you have kept me well for so long…not even for one say have I felt anything less than what I m entitled to.Then why are these things coming up again???

Urmila stood up and looked away to hide her tears.Lakshman too stood and hugged Urmila from behind…

Paas aayiye ke hum nahin aayenge baar baar,

Aankhon se phir yeh pyaar ki barsaat ho na ho,

L:- Urmi,you are the only piece of life that holds me together.If you were not there,nor would I have been able to keep bhaiya n bhabhi well,nor would I have been able to stay alive myself.I would have died….

Urmila turned and placed a finger on his lips,still in his embrace…

U:- Never,soumitra…never ever say anything like that .It hurts me..

Lakshman hugged her tightly.

L:- Urmi,same happens to me when I lose sight of you for a moment .Its scary for me.I don’t want to lose you again.

Time stood still.The two of them were just lost in each other and they didn’t know,but maybe fate was to make it their last embrace .

U(smiling):- Swami,Leave me.

L:-No

U:-Soumitra!!!!

L:- Mila!!!

Urmila pushed him and broke away ,laughing.

U:- Okay…Now I have to go.Take care of Bhaiya,Ang and Chandra.

L:- Wait ,so you are still going…

U:- Of course,when did I say no.

L:- But I thought……Please don’t go !!!

U:- You need to get rid of this childish behaviour of yours Swami..I’ll be back.

Within moment,she disappeared into the white mist.Lakshman stood there ,quiet and helpless.
It was for the first time in many years that he felt so……

It felt like whole nature sung that time
