This is a tribute from Kamalanayani to Karmphal daata shani serial..
I was actually thinking just as the other readers that, the last episode would be on March 16, but colors channel actually cheated us all by ending abruptly on March 9…
But ok… Shanay Shanay everything will be fine… But then, My Manasa-guru Shani dev made me to write this tribute to this Magnum opus… I wanted to recollect all the beautiful moments that I had with Shani dev through this serial… Also I request my other TU friends and Shani serial viewers and people who are fond of him to comment below about your experience…

By November first week of 2016, while reading TOI news, I saw “A Magnum Opus – Karmphal daata shani”… this is how I came to know about this serial.
Then the magnum opus actually started on Nov 7,2016…
It started with the voice over of SRJ (My fav Mahabharat Krishna) with the most impressive statement – Naa koi mitr aur Naa koi chatru… It is true… But, after that only I heard about Shani dev that, may be he can’t have a friend or enemy but he can have a daughter from my grandma.. (Read my Kamalanayani series – Kamalanayani Karmphal daata adhaays for more info).
The war between Dev and Asur and then Mahadev intervening it and indicates that Karmphal daata will be born…
Then Devi Sangya (It has been a long time I’ve thought of her) having trouble to perform Surya pooja and creates Mata Chhaya from her shadow using a secret potion made by Dev Vishwakarma and leaves for Tapasya leaving Yam and Yami with Mata Chhaya.
Then comes the birth of my Guru Shani dev.
Mata Chhaya gives birth to a boy but Surya dev, does not accept the boy as his son because of his dark complexion. He questions her character. The moment a teardrop touches Shani dev, he casts a grahan on his father and makes him feel for it.
I wish for you Shani dev to be present with each and every woman/girl even an infant in this Kali yuga as we need your protection… I understood that, men should be women’s protectors but not predators… And you proved it thrice… Mata Chhaya, Mata Yami and Mata Dhamini…
Suryadev curses that, if the boy falls on his rays then, immediately he will be killed… Then, Mata Chhaya runs to save the infant and finds comfort in the forest.
Mata Chhaya named him “SHANI”… Mahadev addresses him, Karmphal daata Shani…
Then, Shani dev grows up in the forest and Mata Chhaya spends nights with him and days in Surya loka…
Meeting Kaakol and killing Dumbnaad by a loud roar and Vyaktagandh (Butterfly asura) with a thrust…
After finding the secrets, he moved on to Surya loka and Surya dev refuses him to accept as his son… Then ragging by Yam and Yami…
Meeting Dev Vishwakarma and calling him Naanashree..
When, Indradev and Shukracharya created a storm and when Mata Chhaya is struck in it, you lifted the weapon (Danda) and proved that you are Karmphal daata…
[Kartikey Malviya’s acting and expressions were extremely awesome..]
Later, the return of Devi Sangya… and Mata Chhaya vanishing and I couldn’t forget how you came running and cried MATA…
The birth of the World and then Manu and Shatrupa… Saving them.. Yamraj’s death and rebirth… He was announced as Dharmaraj Yam..
Later, the truth came out and you kicked on the abdomen of Devi Sangya and she cursed your leg will be parted and Surya dev fixed it… Leaving Suryaloka and going to Kaaklok… Kaakol’s mom and dad… Rahu’s entry… Dandanayak avatar… Defeating Nandi dev and even Veerbhadra and finally facing Mahadev…
Then you obtained Vakra dhristi from Lord Shiva and tested it on him first… You made the Devadhidev Mahadev to run and hide…
Then on Surya dev, when he took Chandradev’s side… You proved that a woman has right to choose how her life should be and stood on the side of Mata Yami and broke the alliance with Chandradev with proper reason… You proved to be a perfect brother and trust-worthy friend.
Amrit Mandhan… where you showed the meaning of Atma-mandhan… You gave justice to Rahu when he pretended as Chandradev…You cut him into
Raja Harishchandra and the power of truth…
Maali Sumali… Saviour of Bhakti and Tapasya for whomsoever… But, punishing anyone, if they cross the limits…
Then comes the start of friendship with Hanumanji and Ganeshji…
You never got biased for Mahadev or Mahadev’s son… You proved to be a perfect Shivansh…
Neelima – Shani ka Dhod… I remember this everytime I see the blue-gemed ring that I wear… I feel that you – Shanidev are with me every moment and it is a great feel for me… You won over every plot against you…
Then comes the Ashvini kumars… You freed them too from injustice and got the name of Suryaansh… their karmphal and adhikaar.
Finally, you were gifted with a sister… Having a sister is the best relation that a boy could have, according to me and for every girl, having a brother especially, elder brother is a boon…
Bhai.. Behen.. – What an awesome performance… by Kartikey and Nitanshi…
You were given the responsibility of killing her my Mahadev but even though you tried to get her on track.. But, unfortunately the crime was put on your head…
Even though you were blamed, you went on to punish the criminal and did not leave anyone who came on the way…
[I know that Devi Sangya was not that bad… and she wasn’t killed…]
Finally the person whom you think as your reason of existence or aardhya.. Mata Chhaya did not accept you… And she seized the Karmphal daata position from you…
Then we all viewers had to give a good bye to dear Kartikey and welcome Rohit Khurrana as Shani dev.. He also did well but, Kartikey was the best… especially in dialogue delivery…
Mata Yami and Yamraj needed to go with Bhrihaspatiji for higher studies but you won over him in Grah yudh without any training…
You came back on time when your were needed for Uttarayan yagya for reviving Suryadev and saving Mata Chhaya from plots..
You fought against other 7 planets in Grahayuddha and revived Suryadev with Mahakaali maa’s help even she offered you to have a good childhood once again better than you had… You stood for the need than greed…
Then, came in Ravan with complete greed to seize Mahadev… You even saved him with Panch tatva and delighted mata Parvati and finally she blessed you with a boon of your shakti…
Mata Dhamini came in to your life… She changed many things… My fav scene is when she acted like you in the Surya Mahal corridor… “Is he thinking that I might die if, he did not ask sorry to me…”
The complete confusion was when you disapproved her proposal and when she agreed to marry Yamraj still you showed off no emotion… but fate circles…. And it connected you both as she is your shakti..
But, even after knowing that she is having Mangal-dosh and after being advised no to marry her by Tridev you married her to save her dignity.
Under Mangaldev’s influence she cursed you to have Marak drishti and you accepted it and used it in a proper way.
You used the same Marak drishti curse as a weapon against Mangal dev and saved mata Dhamini. Additionally when she was kidnapped by Ravan you had to kidnap all the Nav-grah and finally released her with Hanumanji’s help…
Friends don’t need past memory to help each other in time of need… Hanuman ji, Ganesh ji and You are of that kind… True friends..
We all were waiting for you to accept the Karmphal daata padh and it finally happened and we all viewers were happy to see… especially while reading Pooja didi’s update title – The World gets rewarded with Karmphal daata..
I can’t miss Indradev (Kunal Bakshi did a great job) in this list… But we all waited for you to give a karmphal to him… but that was not shown…
Seeing Kartikey back in few episodes were making us feel good.
You gave up anything, for Dharma and Karma… let it be mother, sister, best friend, karmphal daata’s position, danda, but you never got swayed from your path…
But, that happiness was snatched when we got to know “THE END OF KARMPHAL DAATA SHANI”…
I don’t know why I felt to write this tribute.. But, through this I wish for another season of Shani serial… I will be missing Pooja didi’s updates every day 9.30pm…
I also request all Shani serial viewers to comment on this article… I actually got immediate post permission in TU but, I never thought my first article after that permission would be a tribute to my favorite serial…
Another request is to readers is that, guys please look into this page… I will be updating my Kamalanayani series also… And please do write some FF on in serial… Already one FF is on but please go ahead… Let’s try to keep this page active…
Miss you all… With lots of memories… Starting with a wordly fight with one of a commenter to this tribute… This holds a lot of lessons and fun memories…
Sorry that I couldn’t mention all the names of my TU friends… but miss you all.. I promise that, I wouldn’t watch Colors after this, until Shani serial comes back..
A special thing to Kartik… I will try to fulfil you wish for all the Shani serial songs with lyrics in a few days…
