Together (One Shot)

“Some people bring out the best in you while some people bring out the worst in you but there are some rare people who bring out both of it.”

For Shivaay that person was Anika.

“Why do you keep lying? ” Shivaay moved closer to her and trapping her between his arms. “Tell me” His blue orbs boring into her chocolate ones. He demanded to know the truth.

She gasped seeing him so close to her. Her breathing got shallower. She tried hard to keep herself straight.

“What? ” she managed to keep her composure. “What are you talking about? ” she stuttered.

“Why don’t you admit it? ” his voice husky. “I can see how much it affects you” He whispered in her ear and his stubble touched her cheek.

She shivered. No. It doesn’t affect her. Lie. Her subconscious mind said. He affects her way to much. His one look enough to make her go weak in her knees.

Everytime he was close, goosebumps erupted on her body. She felt butterflies in her stomach and her breathing got shallower. Such an affect he had on her.

She inhaled his scent. He smelled different. Not that it was bad. His tastes did change a lot.

“It doesn’t ” she lied.

“I still hate you” he whispered in her ear.

Her heart broke into a million pieces. If he hates her then why is he doing it? Why is he making it more difficult for her? What does he want? If he wants her to go away then why does he hold her back? He comes closer and then pushes her away.

It didn’t make sense at all. His actions didn’t make sense. His actions spoke a different story while his eyes had a different one.

“I hate you for lying to me. I so wish Anika, that you had trusted me. Did you really think, your Shivaay so weak? Our relation was so weak? ” his voice cracked. Tears poured out of his eyes.

“I know the truth Anika and I respect your love for me but I just wish that you had just shown a little faith in me” his voice was shaking. The Great Wall of Shivaay broke down. The truth was harsh, but something was harsher. Her lies.

It didn’t just break his trust but his heart too.

“If the truth was harsh, then you should have stayed with me and consoled me. Helped me in accepting the truth. But what you did was blo*dy lie to me. Break my heart” he choked on his tears.

“We all have choices between what is easy and what is right, Shivaay and I did what was right, for you, for me and for all of us” she replied. Emotions overwhelming her. Those emotions poured out in form of tears.

She thought that the best thing was to leave him and let him be happy. Little did she know that it will turn out to be the worst.

He let out a laugh less chuckle. “Right? Is it right to break someone’s trust? I trusted you but didn’t you trust me? ” anger taking over him.

“I did and I still do. But I didn’t trust myself enough. I knew, I was weak. I was so scared that I just decided…” he cut her off.

“walk out of my life. I wish you had trusted me, then we would have fought it together. ” he stressed the word.

“You weren’t alone, I was by your side. I started to change myself for you. Change my ideologies for you. Give up naam, khoon, khandan (blood, name and lineage) you shouldn’t have given up before fighting it. Given up on us”

She threw her arms around him and sobbed. Her tears drained his shirt. That is what happens when you keep your emotions bottled up for too long, they come out like a storm.

Holding her in his arms again, what he felt was utter joy. Only this women could make him feel this way.

He stroked her hairs gently. “I’m sorry” she whispered.

“I’m sorry as well. I should have shown faith in you” he kissed her hair lovingly as pearl drops trickled down his cheeks.

He pulled out of the hug gently and looked straight into her eyes.

“Never think that you are alone. I’m here for you, by your side. Lies hurt Anika, even if they are for your own good so please show faith in me and tell the truth. Remember, it’s not you and me but us. We are going to face, come what may. Together” he kissed her forehead.

She smiled through her tears and engulfed in him a bone crushing hug. “Together” she whispered.

This is what truly home is. With him.

“What a life, being your wife. You are mine and I’m yours. ”
