ARJUN || REDDY

              I leaned to her making her cheeks turn pink. I put her seatbelt on. She gave me a serious look and said;

“I can do it myself.” She said.

“That’s why I am doing it now.” I said restarting the car.

We dropped Maya in her home. She was silent. So did I. I took a cigarette and put it in between my lips while driving.

“You can’t smoke.” She said snatching the cigarette from my mouth.

“Now you will tell me what should I  do or not?” I asked taking another cigarette.

“You can’t smoke while driving.” There was a fear in her eyes.

“Very funny, miss. Sheikh. It’s just a cigarette not alcohol.” I lightened the cigarette and inhale the smoke.

“If you drink alcohol, it doesn’t matter to me because it affects on you only but smoking also kills the people beside you,too.” She said trying to snatch the cigarette again while holding her mouth and nose with her left hand.

I stopped the car. The smoke was filled in the air. She coughed. I glared at her and said;

“It’s my car and I will do what I want. I don’t care whether it affects you or not.” I almost yelled at her.

She didn’t seem listening to me. She was coughing badly. Her eyes were filled with water. She was searching for something in her purse while taking deep breathes.

Is she an asthma patient?

I took the purse from her and opened it. I found her phone and a inhaler in it. I opened it and made her inhale it. Her breathes became normal slowly.

“Why didn’t you say it?” I asked but she didn’t reply. I didn’t care to ask again.

I drove in silence. She did show the direction to her home. We reached her house in few minutes. It was the same building I wanted to buy. She got off the car without saying a thank you.

How could I except a thanks from her?

I drove back to my home to make a talk with my father about simran’s land. As I reached home I went straight to nanna’s study room. He was there going through some files.

“Nanna..” He looked at me.

“I want to talk to you.”

“Go ahead.” Nanna said.

“Why can’t we build a hospital instead of a mall in that land?” As I asked nanna seemed thinking.

“Hmm..not a bad idea. But what about the land you and subham went to buy?”

“I have some plans in my mind to get that land in our hands.”

“Good.”

To proceed the plans I need to get details of Simran’s life.

I knocked on Anjali’s door. She opened it for me.

“I need to talk to you.” I sat on the couch. She sat opposite to me on her bed.

“Can I get…huh..some details about simran?” I asked hesitatingly.

“Why,Anna?” Anjali asked sheepishly.

“It’s for some business matter. Tell me.” I said in a serious tone.

“Is it really a business matter?” She again asked teasingly.

“Anjali…”

“Okay..okay…huh…simran lives with her naani and her younger brother Samar. Her mother is no more and her father abondened them. That’s it.” She sighed.

“What about the financial background?”

“Are you going to help her?”

“Kind of..”

“Anna,Simran’s naani is running a cafe. That’s their only hope.” Anjali’s face fell.

“Thanks,anju.” I left anjali’s room before she could ask another question.

So the only way to get that land is offering simran a huge amount.

SIMRAN || SHEIKH

For a moment I thought that I was going to die. He really made me go worse. I didn’t thank him for driving me home. I just hate the feeling of someone knowing about my asthma. I entered to my home.Hamdan was in hall Like he was waiting for me to come. I brushed the hair from my face and made sure that I look okay or else he would kill me with questions.

“Hey..”

“Simi, are you okay?” Hamdan held me by my shoulder. I nodded at him.

“You look pale.” He said touching my cheeks. I blushed as his hand came in contact with my skin. A smile formed in the corner of his lips.

“Let me freshen up.” I said turning from him.

“Wait…I have to tell you something.” Hamdan said nervously. I waited for him to speek. He sighed.

“I wanted to tell you this for a long time…and…s..simi..” He licked his dry lips.

“Hamdan,I think you should prepare first. Let me change this.” I walked to my room. I didn’t close the door because I know he would follow me.

“Listen,simi.” He came after me.

I stood in front of the mirror to remove the bangles and necklace. He stood behind me and looked at me through the mirror. I could clearly see the nervous in his eyes.

“Why are you nervous?” I asked looking back at him.

“I don’t know.” He chuckled a bit. I turned to him.

I knew what he was going to tell me. The three magical words.

“Are you going to tell me that you love me?” I teased him. He chuckled.

“How do you know?” He asked back.

“I.. I just did.”

“Wait..did..did you read my personal diary?” He asked hung open his mouth.

? I did. But I am not gonna tell him that I did.

“How could I? Your diary is in your laptop and I don’t know the password, too.” As I said I bit my tongue. I just gave him the hint that I read his diary.

“I never told you that I write my diary in my laptop,you thief.” He ran to catch me.

“But you had benefit of me reading your diary.” I said while running to downstairs. Nanni and Samar must be in Hamdan’s home as every Sunday night the two family eat our dinner together.

“Still you are a stalker.” He said trying to hold my duppatta. I was still in my lehenga. My one foot got tangled with the skirt and jumped a bit to bump to someone. The man caught my hand and made me stay straight. I looked at the person who held my hands. An anger rose in me. I pulled back my hands from him in force and gritted my teeth.
