The Great Indian Laughter Challenge fame Parag Kansara passed away after suffering a heart attack

Parag Kansara who was one of the six contestants in the first season of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge passed away on October 5 after suffering a heart attack. Actor and comedian Sunil Pal confirmed the news on social media.

Sunil shared a video in which he said, “Our Laughter Challenge companion Parag is no more. I’ve no idea what’s happening to the comedy world… Just a few days ago, we lost Raju Srivastava.”

Sunil, who is shaken by Parag’s sudden demise talked about it during a recent interview with BT and shared, “We were still recovering from Raju (Srivastava) passing away suddenly, and now Parag is no more. Parag and I became friends around 17 years ago when we participated in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. We have done many stage shows, TV shows and films together.”

He added, “He would be stressed about work too. Even before COVID hit us, he was in need of work, and he would tell us to find him some work. During the pandemic, it became even more difficult for artists like us who earned from stage shows because they weren’t happening. In today’s time, many artists are under pressure due to this.”

Talking about losing two friends in such a short span, he said, “I have lost two friends who were among my oldest friends, and now it feels like our Laughter Challenge group is broken. I just hope and pray that they are in a better place now.”

May his soul rest in peace.
