A night had passed since the operation , and arohi had been with akshara ever since the operation like an ideal sister holding her at her toughest times, sneaking in on her here and there withtout Abhimanyu’s notice…
And slowly Aarohi retired to her room and just then her phone buzzed..it was her little munchkin Ruhi..video calling her, she immediately washed her face not to look to tired infront of her and attended it.
As soon as attended ruhi faced the other side..hinting how disappointed she was…
Kya hua naraz ho?? ( Are you upset?) Arohi asked..
Haa…hoon..mein paraaz…. A cute little voice came from the other side of the phone..
Aap na poppy dono phone nahi ula lahe ho… (You and poppy have-not lanswered )
Arohi sighed at the sight of her daughter purposefully facing the side wall not wanting to face her and smiled…
It was her who had kept her going, her only hope and reason to live and to be precise to even get up from her bed every day..
She gently kept her phone on the table facing her and held her both ears with both hands Sorry beta..Vo..poppy aur main…I mean we were in the ot na?? So..sorry… she pleaded..
Ruhi saw her mom in the corner of an eye still not facing here..
Arohi smiled at her antics she saw her and bit her lips to supress her smile…
Ahh..ahhh… My neck is hurting… Arohi pretended …. Wo I was looking at one side for so long na…. Immediately ruhi turned and faced the camera make Arohi go in fits of laughter… Mujhe nahi chahiye neck pain… Ruhi said…
Arohi smiled and nodded an yes… Khana kha liya…?? (Ate??)Arohi asked..
Ruhi vigourously noded her head in a yes make a pout with her lips..
Yes matashri…AApne kalna ka liya?? Ruhi asked zooming her face into the screen…
Arohi touched the screen as if ruffling through her chin and gave a kiss and said .. haa..khana kha li humne bhi aur poppy ne bhi… ( haan.. we ate)
Kalna bhi time se kaali you are good girl maatasshri… Arohi lifted her eyebrows and noded her head..Waise its khana not kalna…Arohi said.. Wahi wwahi…matashri…. Ruhi chuckled the other end..
Waise poppy kaha hai?? (Where is poppy) she asked all curious..
That reminded Arohi that they indeed had dinner together, but she had not seen abhi since then…
Vo…Hospital main hai… she made up as she knew ruhi would pester to talk with Abhi… I will ask you to call him when he is back..pakka…
Ruhi pouted her face in disappointment…
Waise kiska operation hua?? Ruhi asked Vo leek hain na??
Leak?? Arohi squinted her eyes..then she understood it was teek…and rubbed her eyes..

Arohi sighed… aise nahi bolte ru.. pata hai kitne pain main tha wo..infact abhi bhi hai..and he is your age
Ru twisted her lips and made faces … uski vajah se mere poppy mujhse baat nahi kar paye..(because of him poppy could not speak to me), But I will pray for him…
And that’s when a intrusive and painful thought hit Arohi..now that akshara is back..What will Abhi do?? Will he ignore Ru?? Nahi..re Don’t over think!! She came out of her thoughts immediately..
Ru..poppy nahi hai toh kya…apki matashri toh hai!! (what if your poppy is not there I am here na??) aur tell me what all my nautanki did in her day ?? she asked…
Arohi’s eyes welled up..What if she is alone like this all her life?? Will she be able to manage?? The thoughts were running behind her head..and yet she smiled at the camera..not letting her munchkin know what all is going inside her head…
Aarohi had asked one Question and Ru was aleady giving her essay type answer..
Ru had started from her didu waking her up ..and how she brushed her teeth and how tasty the toothpaste was and how she swallowed it and her didu got some more on her brush and even brushed her..
Arohi took the phone and sat in the sofa and relaxed herself and seeing her kid …she knew she would not stop in another mins..Its not that she was complaining..After a tiring long day like this one it was this time arohi had relaxed the most ever adoring her little pumpkin pie her cute narrations with her cute expressions and her gestures..her wrong pronunciations. This all she had lived for..
While Arohi was silently adoring her kid..her mind was not quiet either….Will you be able to manage her alone?? The question came on in her mind..Arohi purposefully avoided and tried hard to focus on her ru…she even laughed fake and tried to be responsive to her ru..but her mind was dangling in one point?? Will you be able manage? What will happen to Ru??
As the video call extended, arohi’s eyes kept welling more and more suffocating her slowly, but she made sure nothing of it was even visible to her kiddo..who was stilling narrating how she operated her toys and how much effort she had put in to make the operation successful.
Arohi…congratulated her….and after good ten mins of hearing her melodious chapad chapad… ru bid her mata shri Goodnight…..Yo matashri..
Arohi smiled and wished her back..
Aur haan..poppy ko call karne bol dena( Tell poppy to call me) I will wait… Ru said and wavered a bye and blew a flying kiss to her…
Arohi too blew a kiss and the call had cut…Arohi gripped her phone tightly..
Her eyes unintentionally dropped a tear… where did abhi go??
Arohi searched for him but he was nowhere to be found…tired she called Manajari and asked ru to put to sleep , because she knew her ru would wait for poppy all day..
She even tried calling him, but of no use…she was tired..and she did not when she fell asleep..in the midst of commotion….
It was the next day morning …
Arohi woked up to the sun rays hitting her eyes and rubbed her face…she immediately realised Abhimanyu was missing and , how can she sleep?? She cursed herself a little …
She took her phone and there were missed calls from Akshu..she immediately called back..
Askhara…spoke as soon as she took the phone… Phone nahi uta Sakthi thi..please jaldi aao hospital aur abhi ko samjao!!! ( Why can’t you take your phone?? Come to hospital immediately and please convince Abhimanyu)
Arohi scratched her head… Please come fast…. Arohi said an yes and rushed to the hospital wondering what has happened now..
She reached the hospital and found out that Abhimanyu is shifting abhir on a emergency basis to birla hospital ….
Arohi immediately rushed and checked his reports, but all were slowly getting normal, infact his body was slowly but better after the surgery , then why?/
Abhi barged inside the room..and took some papers…and was in his own world..
Abhi, he is recovering well!! Then why!! You know ru was waiting for your call too!! Where were you all night?? Arohi knew nothing went inside his head as he was hustling in the documents…
Abhi….she took the documents and he finally acknowledged her presence in the room…
His eyes were all watery and his face had turned pale ….due to all the crying.. He took a paper from his pocket and kept on Aarohi’s hands…
Arohi confused open the letter…
Abhir was the same age as ru and I saw Akshara in the canteen with you I knew something was off..and even the nurse said there were many correlations in my blood and abhirs..So I took a DNA test….
Arohi saw the test results and read Positive…..
Abhi wiped his tears and went ..while Arohi stood there contemplating her fate as she held the paper that took one step near to the dreaded future she always feared… A fear of her Ru being thrown outside of herr poppy’s life without any warning.. A fear of being her Ru hurt…A fear of being left alone in this world without Neil and emotional support..Her thoughts engulfed her as she stood emotionless watching
how abhi walked away…
