Priyanka was silently sitting on the railing of the old bridge. She had been there a lot more since the time she had met moonlight but hadn’t encountered with him again. She had sung to herself quite a many times and she felt better with her voice than before but today she sat very still, enveloped in her thoughts. “Missing me?” She gasped, startled at the sudden voice, and spun around. There he was, leaning against the railing. She shook her head “I was thinking.” “Oh okay, I missed you” Moonlight replied in his cheerful manner. “Then why did you not come here?” Priyanka retorted, raising a brow. “My work….kept me. I often need to work at night.” “That seems bad”. “I assure you,it IS. You can have my words on this” he said in his carefree manner “Anyways, what were you thinking before I interrupted?”

He asked, his tone curious. “About life. It’s so unfair, always.” “Not always” “You know I think whenever we feel everything is getting all right again, bam!! every single thing turns all wrong.” “I’ve hardly seen anything normal but I don’t think so bitterly about life”. “What do you mean by ‘haven’t seen anything normal’?” “Well, I grew up in an orphanage because my parents died in a car accident when I was nine. Only when I joined my job, I came to know that they were killed in a planned accident- murdered; for being too honest and prestigious. Well so……it counts, right?” He asked the later part quite thickly. “Yeah, it’s worse than my problem. Thanks yaar, for telling me this.” “But you didn’t tell me your problem”. “You know, I thought bhaiya loved her but he married her just like that. I can’t understand their relationship. It’s so confusing that I came here.”

They kept talking about life, work, their favorite pastime as naturally as they were best friends and not their second meeting. “Sing me a song” all of a sudden Moonlight requested.

“Um… Okk….” She responded, hesitatingly. She knew she could not sing in front of the mirror, let alone someone else but remembering the last time, she began to sing. It was a Punjabi folk song- more a lullaby which she loved. After a while, Moonlight said softly “You know what? I feel like sleeping.” She grinned slightly “So, tell me, how was your day?” “It’s been fine. Workload has increased. I came here for a break and to my ‘bad’ luck- I met you.” “Oh! so I’m your bad luck?” “Aur nahi to kya? Nobody will dare to make me sit on railings like this and you won’t just accept it is frightful”. She laughed. “Will you like to go on a dinner with me?” he asked. “So this was in your head? Taking me out for dinner?” She responded, slightly smirking.

“Well, not exactly but it would be better to know your choice of food. So… dinner out?” “If you are tempting me, guess what….it’s working” she laughed as she said down and held out her hand to help him down.
