Hello friends. Here is the next part which is completely about IshOm. I hope you enjoy reading it.

Chapter-16

The first fight

After getting discharged from hospital, Ishanya resumed her life normally as if nothing had happened. Shivaay was there with her in the hospital those two days and he himself dropped her in home after discharging. He even wanted to appoint a nurse for her but she refused politely.

In the evening, in Ishanya’s office, she is packing her stuff to go back to home, her phone rang and flashed ‘Mr. Oberoi calling’.

She picked the phone with smile and said, “Hi, Mr. Oberoi. Before you say something, let me tell you I am leaving the office and I know I need to take my medicines too. You have already called twice to remind me!! Anything else, you want to remind me?”

“Good girl, just one thing, stop calling me Mr. Oberoi!! Call me Shivaay, we are friends now.” Replied Shivaay complaining.

“It will take some time to get used to call you Shivaay as I am habituated to call you Mr. Oberoi.” Ishanya said laughing.

“And please stop baby-sitting me, I know we are friends but you need not worry about me like this!!” Said Ishanya seriously.

“Baby-sitting? When I did that? And please taking care of your friend is a duty, you should not say that it’s not needed!!” Shivaay said in his style.

Ishanya wanted to say something but stopped herself from saying as she doesn’t want to be rude with him now as he is her friend. To be honest, she is liking that someone is there to care for her now without any ulterior motives, genuinely caring and that is scaring her as she doesn’t want to get used to all this attention again as it would be very difficult for her when she loose all this again.

She was brought back from her thoughts by Shivaay saying, “Any way, I know you are using your car. Drive safe and msg me when you reach home.”

Ishanya just replied ok as she doesn’t want to argue with him but she is still contemplating about her friendship with Shivaay which is making her restless. She thought of going to somewhere to cool her mind and when her eyes fell on the invitation of the Omkara’s art-exhibition she decided to go there as she always feel relaxed seeing the paintings and decoding them.

On the way to the gallery, Ishanya thought about her behavior towards Omkara and realized that she was rude to him and decided to apologize to him.

In art-exhibition, Omkara stood in a corner observing everything going on in the gallery. People are coming to him to congratulate him and appreciate him as the whole collection of paintings were sold out even before the lunch. But Omkara was not feeling happy or content with this as he is missing Ishanya.

It’s true that they were just acquaintances but when he used to msg her 2-3 times daily, he used to see her replies again and again and pass the whole day in her thoughts only, now without all this he is feeling as if something is missing in his life even after the success of art-exhibition.

He looked at the ganapati statue in the entrance and wished that Ishanya to be here and his wish fulfilled in a second as he saw her entering the gallery. She looked like an angel in the blue and white dress of her. He smiled broadly and thanked ganapati ji.

He was about to go towards her but stopped himself as he remembered her behavior in hospital. He remembered how rudely she asked him to leave!!

He just stood there in that spot trying to ignore her as just another person but his eyes betrayed him and followed her everywhere. When he saw her coming towards him he became nervous and looked to his sides.

Ishanya came to him and extended her hand congratulating him. But Omkara just nodded and tried to leave from there. She took back her hand disappointedly and tried to talk to him. Omkara called a helper to him without letting Ishanya say anything.

He explained something to the helper and tried to leave from there when Ishanya had enough of it and called him, “Omkara….” He stilled and stood there as he heard her saying his name for the first time in that sweet voice of hers and that too calling him not warning him to leave.

Seeing him still Ishanya continued, “Omkara, please listen to me once.” He turned around to face her. She looked down and continued, “I know, I was very rude to you. I want to apologize.”

“Oh! Please, why should you apologize? It’s me who should be apologizing for interfering in your personal life, right?” He said sarcastically.

Ishanya sighed and said, “I can understand Omkara it must have hurt you a lot, but the situation I was in……..” she was cut in the middle by Omkara saying, “Oh! Please, don’t give me any reasons as a justification to your rude behavior as any reason would fall short for it!!” shocking Ishanya.

“I was just trying to help you but you…. You don’t deserve it!!” He said finally, let out all his frustration.

“How would I know that you genuinely want to help me?? I am not ‘antaryami’!!” Ishanya replied surprising him.

“What do you mean?” He asked in confusion.

“How would I know that you want to help me without any motive of yours?” She asked in a bit high voice.

“Why would I have any motive?” He asked

“Why else would a guy become desperate to help a stranger? Isn’t it just because I am girl??” She asked yelling.

“ I just wanted to help you for humanity sake.” He replied in the equal tone.

“And how would I be sure about it?” She asked shocking him.

“God!! I don’t know that you have trust issues!!” said Omkara making Ishanya angry.

“What do you mean? It is you guys, who blame the girls when her friend who happens to be a boy does something wrong with her and lecture her about not trusting or believing the guys easily!!” Said pointing to him when he tried to back she came front saying,

“And it is you people only who says that the girl is rude, having trust issues, insecurities and what not just because she is trying to more careful and worrying about her security.” Taking a step forward as he went back

“WOW!! Such a MCP society! Always blame the girl!!” Ishanya concluded while all Omkara could do was staring at her with eyes wide open and trying to escape from her sharp glare.

He straightened himself and cleared his throat looking around the gallery which thankfully is quite empty while Ishanya took deep breaths closing her eyes to calm herself.
Omkara looked at her and hesitatingly said, “I am sorry.”

Listening this Ishanya opened her eyes and stared at his eyes, “No, I am sorry I lost my cool again.” She replied.

“I didn’t think of the situation in your point of view. I am sorry.” Said Omkara.

“I was a bit more harsh towards you than necessary, I am sorry.” She said.

“No, I am sorry.” Said Omkara making Ishanya angry again.

“Will you stop with your sorry now!! I am getting very irritated.” She said yelling at him.

“OH! Ok, ok!! You relax. Sit here.” He said pointing to the table not wanting to make her angrier.

She sat down clutching her aching head. He saw her messaging her forehead and said, “I’ll tell the helper to bring green tea for you.” And turned to call the helper but was stopped by Ishanya saying, “Not green tea, I need lassi. Can you arrange for it?”

Omkara turned to her frowned asking, “Lassi?”

“Yes, Lassi.” She replied.

“Ok, I’ll ask the helper to bring it.” He said and went to the helpers who are now taking the paintings off as it is already very late.

He came and sat opposite her and said, “He will bring the lassi.”

Ishanya looked up from the table and smiled a little saying, “Thanks.”

“By the way, you hadn’t told me which painting you liked the most.” He asked trying to make a conversation.

“Every painting is beautiful, but I liked the girl’s face in the nature.” She said smiling.

He too smiled at her and the helper brought their coffee and lassi.

“It shows that how important a girl is in this nature of god.” She said explaining.

“Wow! You got the essence of my painting well.” He said in surprise and sipped his coffee.

“I really like decoding the meaning of paintings and to know what the artist wants to say through his painting.” She said sipping her lassi.

“That’s really great. Not everyone think art as an expression.” He said impressed by her.

“So, do you trust me now?” He asked seriously now

Ishanya looked straightly at him and stared in his eyes, while Omkara was waiting with bated breath for her answer.

Oh! No please no tomatoes or sandals for stopping at a cliff hanger!! You’ll get to know Ishanya’s answer in next update. Till then keep guessing her answer. Let’s see how many of you will be correct. And yeah, just for fun I am asking you guys a question like a quiz on this story. So, tell me how many paintings did om made of Ishanya till now? No cheating, ha!! Guess it, try to remember it.
