Savitri Devi College And Hospital; dream of every doctor, stood high reflecting it’s pride. Gayatri got out from her car and looked towards the hospital with a smile. “ Missed you a lot. Now that am back, there is a lot I need to do here”
She goes inside the hospital. A few staff members are already waiting at the entrance to welcome her. One of the senior doctors hand her a bouquet, “ welcome back Mrs. Malhotra. “
Gayatri: thank you all. I’ll be meeting you all briefly at our conference tomorrow. Please get back to your duties for now. (She turns towards a nurse) please take me to Riya’s cabin.
Riya is shown in her cabin, sitting with a dreamy smile and lost in thought. She doesn’t notice Gayatri entering. Gayatri studies her daughter for a moment and breaks the silence
Gayatri: who is the lucky guy
Riya gets startled. But she happily hugs Gayatri and squeals “i missed you mom.”
Gayatri: it’s been only two weeks since you are here and already started missing me or you forgot me after being with someone else.(she settles down on chair)
Riya: nothing like that mom. It actually feels too good to be back. Did you meet all the doctors?
Gayatri: no, first I need to evaluate the hospital reports. I have asked Dr. Bhatia to arrange a conference tomorrow. I can meet all the staff and also discuss the hospital growth and other matters.
Riya: mom , but there is someone I need you to meet today itself. Please come na…
Gayatri: so he must be the guy.
Riya: no mom. I told you. Nothing like that.
Gayatri: waise there was someone I was least expecting to meeting, but I met her today. Sanchi!
Riya: Sanchi Mishra?
Gayatri: yes, Sanchi Mishra. First time I am feeling happy to meet her. She has returned to where she belongs. She was serving coffee at a cafe.
Riya: Sanchi Mishra working as a waitress. This is going to be fun.
A team of doctors and nurses rush towards the ambulances that just arrived at the hospital. There are many injured from an accident. A senior doctor comes forward and takes the lead. He checks all the patients and allots the each to the younger doctors and give them instructions. The nurses are running around. It’s a battle field and all are working hard to save maximum lives. A young girl’s condition worsen and the lead doctor instructs to prepare for surgery.
The scene shifts to surgery. The doctors eyes are so focussed. He is performing the surgery with perfect precision and every one is admiring his skills. His eyes are so deep and intense that anyone can get lost in them. He comes out after the surgery. The girl’s parents come rushing to him. He removes his mask to reveal his handsome face. That’s Dr. Kabir. He consoles the parents and assure them that their daughter is fine and is out of danger.
Mother: thank you doctor. We will never forget your favour
Kabir: please don’t say like that. I was doing my duty.
Mother:god bless you sir. God had sent you like an angel to help you. She holds his hand and brings it to her forehead and cry. Kabir pats her to console her.
Kabir: Mrs. Fernandez, please help them with the Hospital formalities. (To the parents) you can meet your daughter when she gains conscious.
Mrs. Fernandez takes them away.
Kabir’s cabin. He is sitting there admiring his hand. Just then he hears a knock.
Kabir: come in
Gayatri and Riya come inside. Kabir gets up seeing Gayatri.
Gayatri: dr. Kabir bhansal. The most efficient doctor of SDCH and one of the most eligible bachelor’s in India. I have already heard a lot about your skills. It’s gud to finally see you in person.
Kabir: the honour is all mine Mrs. Malhotra. I find myself lucky to be part of one of the top hospitals in India.
Gayatri: we need to change from one of the top to the only top. And we need young and efficient doctors like you in our hospital for that. It’s really praise worthy how you achieved so much at such a young age. (Turning towards Riya) Riya, you have a lot to study from Dr.Kabir. (turning back to kabir) Dr.Kabir, I want you to guide Riya so that she follows your footstep to become the best.
Riya smiles at her knowingly.
Gayatri: I would like it if you join us for dinner tonight
Kabir: sorry ma’am. But I won’t be able to make it today. I already have a prior commitment. I hope you understand.
Gayatri: don’t worry. Enjoy your night.
Gayatri and Riya leave the cabin. Kabir tries calling someone. But the call goes unattended.
Kabir: now she is not even answering my calls.
He looks at a photo on his table.
Kabir: why do you always do this with me. I already miss you so much. How much more will you punish me. Please come back soon. Nothing seems right without you.
Next day at SDCH conference hall.
Gayatri at the Dias: thanku all for coming. You all have really done a great job for the past seven years in taking SDCH to new heights. We still have a long way to go. With all your team works and efforts, I am sure the number one position in India is not far away.
The meeting is dispersed. Dr. Bhatia stays behind to discuss important matters with Gayatri.
Gayatri: we need to resolve these legal issues asap. Why is it taking so long
Dr. Bhatia: Duggal associates will be taking our case. So we have no reason to worry. They never lose any case and the have the best team working for the firm
Gayatri: I am trusting you on this. I dont want any more mistakes.
Dr.bhatia : you need not worry about this anymore. Am sure the judgement will be in our favour
Its a new day. Sanchi is getting ready. She is seem wearing a simple saree. A white jute saree with big light pink roses on it and a thin black border. She has minimum make up ,but still looks super hot. She is a bit disturbed. Isha comes and encourages her
Isha: don’t be nervous Sanchi. Am sure you will win this case. After all, it’s a mother’s fight for her daughter.
Sanchi: yes isha, I have to win this case at any cost. None can separate a mother from her daughter.
The scene shifts to a court. The opposition lawyer keeps his opening statement.
Lawyer: your lord, no one can disagree to the fact that a child always need both it’s parents equally at this tender age. Each have major roles that cannot be taken by the other, at each stage of her growth. But what should we do if we need to choose any one. Who should be chosen? The child is too young to decide her guardian. And decisions made emotionally need not be the correct one.
We always want to give the best to our children. We buy them the best toys, send them to the best school, we take them to best places. Because we can never compromise with our s needs. So if you have to choose one parent , then it should be the best one.
My lord, my client works a respectable job and earns enough to provide the child with all comforts she needs in her life. There is no doubt that he loves his daughter a lot, but he is also efficient enough to meet all her needs. If we give her custody to the mother, then imagine how is she going to meet the expense of her daughter. Neither does she have a good job nor does she have the required educational qualifications. What would you choose for a child, an easy and simple life or a difficult and struggling one. It’s my humble request to you that my client be given the custody of the child.”
