*****Same day…evening..*****
Shivaay along with other kids were playing football in the field where mud was uncontrollable…Shivaay was already filled with mud…All these were a new experiences to him as he has never been to any village…he was enjoying each the seconds forgetting his identity…Rejini and Ramu were happy seeing them playing…till now many of the farmers built a good bonding with Shivaay…he was everyone’s champ…Farmers were smiling at his kiddish behavioral pattern…They were having a tough competition…Shivaay was playing the ball while the rest were following him…suddenly his eyes got struck with his beauty queen…there his lady love was coming in maroon which matched his..she was stopped in mid by Rejini and both had a long convo after that…Shivaay was completely lost in that face.. his green eyes were turning blue now..
“ Bhayya, what are you doing?? Pass the ball…” screamed Raju defending others from reaching Shivaay…this brought Shivaay back to real one..just a great idea stroke his mind..he deliberately shooted the ball towards Anika and it hit her roughly…Rejini including all their mouth out of shock except Shivaay..he hid a smile which didn’t go unnoticed to Rejini…Anika stared him angrily and moved ruffling her dress fully fumed…
“what’s this huh?? Why did you do this? I know you did this purposefully..right?” roared Anika…everyone gazed Shivaay at same time who had a ‘No’ face..
Shivaay “Anika..what are you saying?? How can I think of hurting you?..sachi..I didn’t do it…” he pinched his throat to make the statement true..
“Nehi Anu..don’t believe him..” screamed Ramu from field cutting the yield…Anika joined Ramu and gave Shivaay a dead glare…
Shivaay “Achha tho bhi badi baath kya hai?.. it’s just mud..”
Anika “Achha? Just mud? What was the need to do that?? Now I got double job to do..” she shrugged her shoulders and turned to go..
“already gandha ho gaya..ab thoda aur hone se kya farak padtha hai?…” Shivaay asked hiding his wish..Anika turned with a ‘really’ wala expression…
Anika “so..so, you did all these so that I could play with you..right? “ she angled her hands to her hips..Shivaay folded his hands with a naughty smile…
Anika “Achha…tho this was the intension..but very sorry to say that you failed..” she pouted back and arced back to leave…
“why can’t you say that you’re afraid..” shooted Shivaay..Anika being enraged turned to face him..
Anika “Oh hello..I’m not afraid of anything…” she argued
Shivaay “then why are you stepping back? Come on up..” he encouraged her tying the kerchief in his wrist tighter..
“arrey chal Anu..go and show of what you’re made..” Rejini conduced Anika..Shivaay gave a conning look to Anika..she reciprocated the look with equal attitude…
“tho phir teek hai..I’m ready…” she tied her dhuppatta around her waist confidently gazing Shivaay who turned opposite and smiled at his victory of bringing Anika to play…the play was about to start…Rejini and many women were sitting in a straight line few meters away from the ground sending their voice to both the teams…farmers stopped their works and sat with their partners…the fervourism of the game was filled in the atmosphere…Shivika was face to face with ball below Shivaay’s feet… Rejini blew the whistle and the next moment the screaming started…Shivaay zigzagged the ball aiming the opposite post…Anika was blocking him but he, acting clever passed the ball to Raju who took over it to the post but Chithra came in front of Raju…for a moment Raju got lost in her eyes..Chithra made use of this moment..
“Chithra, pass the ball…” screamed Anika..
“arrey Raju..don’t get lost now….” Cursed Shivaay placing hands on head but fortunate to Anika it happened…Chithra nodded her to Anika and kicked the ball to Anika…she managed it with her leg and moved towards it with the opposite post kicking the ball to her left and right and there it went…
“ GOAL!!!!!!! “ cheered Rejini and Ramu from far….Anika hit the air and twirled Chithra out of happiness…Raju looked Shivaay whose eyes were already fixed on his..
“Kya Raju…why couldn’t you just kick it off and make our 1st goal? “ Shivaay complained..
Raju “Bhayya, I was going to but..”
Shivaay “but Chithra came..”
Raju “ bhayya what’ll I do? when she comes, I get lost..
Shivaay “ooooo Annde se bhahar aaya thak nehi, uske pehle pyaar kar raha hai..
Raju “bhayya, chill…we have time..we’ll rock..
Shivaay “hope so..”
“hey…got afraid?? “ challenged Anika rubbing her hands against each other..
“huh..not so easily…let’s start again…” Shivaay answered moving his thumbs in ‘NO’…the game again started…again Anika gained a goal…now Shivaay was impatient..they gathered a huddle..
“bhayya..I think, we’ll loose today..Akka is too strong..” doubted Ravi ( Raju’s friend)
Raju “No Ravi..we can’t loose today..”
Keerthi “but what we’ll do now? Bhayya, Akka has this game experience of more than 20 years..”
Chinju “thujhe kaise patha?
Keerthi “Appa used to say..she plays all type of game…
Shivaay “but today..we have to win..
“Raju “but how bhayya?
Shivaay smiled remembering their last moments… “ I know her weakness.. chal guys.. give that to me I’ll take the ball from her….but guys you all have to blast it to the post..done?
Everyone :“DONE…” they joined their hands together and rose it to the sky..

“dekh bacho..Shivaay is very tricky…he can mislead you anytime..be ware..” Anika gave a caring warning to her team members…
“Akka, just chill…baazi hamare haathoun mei hai…we’re definitely gonna win…” assured Chithra..
Arun “ Chithra don’t be over confident…the game is yet to be finished..”
Lalitha “he’s right…we can’t be sure..what if they goal next?
Chithra “it’s just an if clause..Akka, just make sure that Shivaay bhayya shouldn’t get neared to post..”
Anika “yeah…I must stop him..c’mon guys…we can put this to an end…” they roared with spirit and hit the air…”
The game again started.. this time ball was with Anika…she moved the ball here and there driving at the post…Shivaay gazed Raju and signaled him resulting him to smile back…Anika crossed Shivaay with a confusing face as he didn’t even try to stop her…Anika was feeling strange but continued with the ball..suddenly a pair of hands snaked over her waist…this brought her to get freeze…he pulled her close and breathed out at the crook of her neck…she didn’t know how to respond…she closed her eyes and felt his warm air which turned cold after a sec and again hot…his proximity was making her go crazy…he was in a position of back hugging her…his hands were over hers…he pressed a little tighter and clasped into her more…her few bangles broke with a glan sound…. She pressed her eyes tight with shivers…Shivaay obscurely got lost in her rhythmic breathe and her redolence was making him to inhale it more…
“Raju…take the ball..!!!! “ screamed Keerthi from behind…Anika realized their position..before she could move out the empty ground made her confuse…she got out and saw Shivaay smiling at her trickily…he signaled her to look the post and there it happened…
“YAYY!!! 1st goal of Shivaay…” cheered Ramu and team…
“WHAT???!!!! Anika’s expressions had no bound..” what do you mean by…just then she notice ball over there inside the post…she gazed the other team members who were staring her like hell…
“means? What just..I..I don’t get it.. “ her face clearly showed the doubt..
“even we didn’t get anything..what got, was a goal that too to bhayya “ Arun complained with his both angry eyes on her..Anika looked Shivaay who was hiding a smile here and there..
Anika “ek minute..matlab..matlab..you did those to distract me from game..right?”
Shivaay “hey..what did I do? I didn’t do anything..
Anika “hawwww..Shivaay, I didn’t know that you lie so big..”
Shivaay “achha? Then say what I just did..c’mon say it…Anika couldn’t say anything farther…she opened her mouth but closed it soon as she didn’t had any words to justify herself..
“haa Anika..what Shivaay did? Say…” Ramu too joined Shivaay…Shivaay thanked him through his eyes for which Ramu smiled back…
“This isn’t fair…Shivaay cheated me..this game is not fair & lovely…” Anika argued like a small kid…
Shivaay “but what I did? I just stopped you pulling you back..but you should free yourself from my clutches…but instead what did you do?? “ Anika had no answers but she wasn’t ready to accept this…
“arrey Anu, he has just scored one…but you’ve two..c’mon continue the play…” Rejini somehow succeeded in molding Anika..the game again started this time Anika confidented herself not falling again for Shivaay..she stood with the ball beneath her leg…she tried not to look Shivaay..he understood that his presence affects her highly…he recollected the incident happened few seconds back..he closed his eyes and opened passionately looking his love…his life…the only reason for his psyche …his Anika…his soul…
Anika kicked the ball giving it to Chithra so that Raju won’t come between…Chithra passed to Arun not giving it to Keerthi..Arun carried it to the next kid…everyone were cheering for them..Rejini stood up and jumped seeing them nearing the post…they had no bounds of excitement..Arun passed the ball to Anika…the moment when Shivaay saw Anika getting the ball he outstepped his new plan and followed Anika..she crossed the goal keeper Sanju cleverly..she arced her leg back to kick it off but before that…
“you look hot Anikaaa…. “
This line of Shivaay made Anika weak again…involuntarily her leg came down and stood there still…Sanju made use of this…he played the ball and by passing it to many, they gained their second goal…Anika still wasn’t aware of anything…hearing the cheering and merriment, she looked back and saw Shivaay’s team enjoying their victory…but Shivaay was still looking Anika who was looking the ball inside the opposite post..Anika, without moving, looked her chand bracelet and again to the ball…Shivaay couldn’t understand what was going in her mind…she, from all that commotion, left without anyone’s notice…Shivaay took a step forward to follow her but Raju stopped him and pulled him back..they were throwing mud to each other…the game gradually turned to a party of mud..Shivaay was in that crowd but mind was following his Anika….
“Don’t know what sudden change caught her..she’s not a type of girl who disappoints at their failure..but no one has failed here…both team are having equal points..and what I told wasn’t a matter to get disappointed…I must have a talk with her..” thought Shivaay…
*****Night..*****
It was dark all around…Anika was still no-where to be found…Shivaay was loosing his patience…or should say, he was afraid now..Raju informed him that she is not in home…Shivaay searched the whole village but could find no Anika…Raju was smacking his head trying to remember where she could possibly go…just then it clicked his mind of the great hill opposite to the village where Anika used to go rarely…Raju gave this hint to Shivaay..he immediately rushed to the hill…it was full of sharp stones and thornfull bushes…but before Shivaay restlessness, all these were nothing…he quickly got on the top of the hill..he has seen it from village..it looks really beautiful but covering it isn’t easy but hard…he somehow managed to get top of it..his panting body wanted Anika’s voice..his eyes truly wanted Anika’s vision…he looked everywhere but unfortunately he couldn’t find her…he turned back hopelessly but his eyes stopped at a spot..he moved further to get a clear vision…there..she was…finally he saw Anika..she was sitting on the upper most rock gazing the village which seemed too small from there…he climbed up to the rock..she seemed to be lost in some thoughts…her hair strands were playing and dancing with the gentle breeze…her dhuppatta was also waving with the wind..her chands were ruffling each other which made glan sounds…Shivaay, without uttering a word sat next to her..
“Gosh..it’s too high!! “ thought Shivaay…he looked Anika who still wasn’t aware of his arrival..he made sound clearing his throat which brought Anika back..she was shocked to the core seeing him there all alone..
Anika “Shivaay, you here?? but how come you be here ? “
Shivaay “why? Only you can give surprises and shocks to everyone?” he sat comfortably making his statement strong..Anika smiled and again looked to the wide and extensive sky closing her eyes..he looked her and thought to ask that now..
“Anika…”
“Hmm”
“what happened? Why did you went from there? If it is bcoz of me, then I’m sorry..
“Shivaay, of what are you talking?”
“Anika, you know very well, of what I’m talking..” Shivaay didn’t want to waste time with those arguments again…
Anika “Shivaay..it’s just..nothing..I thought to leave..that’s it..” she tried not to answer anything..she excused herself from all those and again visioned the sky…Shivaay understood that she is hiding something…
Shivaay “Anika please…” his eyes showed how much concerned he was…
Anika “Nothing Shivaay..it’s just that, till date no one have influenced me much that his words could stop me from anything..” She looked him whose face showed amazement…she waved her hands front of him bringing Shivaay back..
Shivaay “chalo, let’s go now.. “ he hid his smile
Anika “NO!! I mean, few more mins…you please go..I’ll come..
Shivaay “No way..we’re going together..come..” he pulled her but she didn’t respond to it..he noticed her face which showed a problem…he thought that this would be the right time to crack his mind… he held her hand and pressed it lightly..
Shivaay “Anika…you know one thing? I don’t know whether someone else have told you this but, you’re very introvert…never share anything with anyone…look Anika, I’m your life partner..and I do want to know everything about you..I have the right on your happiness..your sorrows…your dream..everything…Anika, it really pains me, seeing you digesting all the problems by your own..dadi used to say, sharing gives satisfaction…it will feel much relaxed if we get a shoulder, where we can sleep in our difficulties..if we get a chest, where we can weep out our heart..if we get a hand to entwine it with our, so that we can find an unknown pair…Anika..just open your heart out…” he took a pause while Anika was diving in his blue orbs.. “What is the problem Anika?? And..and, what’s the problem between you and Gayathri aunty? And..and..why you are…just..just share everything Anika….I can’t see you in more pain..say it to YOUR SHIVAAY….”
Her eye-bros received shock listening the word YOUR SHIVAAY….the most relaxing and satisfying word…She gave a weak smile and thought that the time has arrived to disclose what she knows..
Anika “ Shivaay..what I’m gonna say, will shock you..but Shivaay..please don’t ask me anything…” Shivaay nodded.. “hummm…Sh..Shivaay..jis aurath ke bare mei aap baath kar rahe dhe, she’s not my mother!!!… Shivaay was shocked..he..he was fully deranged with this but thought to stay calm…
“She..she is my father’s wife..Chutki and Sahil’s mother…but she is none to me..” this made Shivaay confuse..
“Anikaa, I don’t understand..” he whispered gently..
“Shivaay…she is my Father’s second wife…”… This created frenzy over his face..
“ Gauri and Sahil aren’t my own siblings…huffmmm….Shivaay, say one thing..if, one day, Sakthi uncle comes to you and say that Pinky aunty is not your mother, then how’ll you feel????” Shivaay’s face frowned up..
“F’course, mai nehi manoonga..”
Anika “exactly Shivaay..same thing happened with me..I was the daughter of Rajarai and Radhika Rajarai..”
“Radhika…? “
Anika “Radhika…that’s my Amma’s name…she..she was very loving and caring…I was her life and Appa, her soul..we both were her lifelines…my parents were love married couples..their love had no bound..they too loved me..I..I think..I was 6..or I think 7..no..no I was 6… One day Amma took me to city..as I remember, to meet her friends…there Amma told me to stay in a house with one of her friend..but…but when she returned to pick me…she seemed very tensed…they were talking very seriously…but I was a kid…I didn’t pay attention to anything….later Amma, took me back home..but that day eve, for the first time I saw my Amma and Appa fighting…Appa was raising his voice and Amma …she..she was crying…I hid behind the door and peered through the gap…they..they both were fighting and equally crying..Sithappa saw me and took me away from all that mess…”
She sniffed while tears where rising up…Shivaay held her hand tightly and eyed on her with support
“Again after few days, we went to city…I…I don’t remember much..but..but so many problems happened…few incidents were so horrifying…few men were pulling Amma into a car…and…and I..I was…I was being taken to a dark place…they..they made me unconscious…and when I opened my eyes..I…I was inside a dark and empty room…it..it was fully a nightmare… Shivaay…I..”
She closed her eyes facing the sky dropping few drops of water through the corner of eyes…she pressed her eyes hard and rubbed her nose where her TEARS were hanging…Shivaay’s eyes were melt…he didn’t know how to pacify her….
“I..I don’t know for how many days, how many days I was jailed in that room…no water..no food…I..I..just….I ran the whole room and…and…stored the sweat that came out….I…I evaporated it and..and used for drinking purposes…hhhhh….learnt many things to live…she smiled….andhere ke wajah se rath hai yah din…kabhi patha nehi chaltha dha…Amma ko dekhne ka bhohuth mann dha but…but….never happened….shaayad…andhere mei rehne ke wajah se, mujhe andhere se bhohuth darr lagne laga…
TEARS effused down her cheeks…his heart was aching seeing her in pain…
“and..gradually, I fell unconscious…and when I opened, I was in Amma’s arms..she..she was bleeding..I didn’t had the strength to wipe it off…my eyes were weak..the..the vision was quite blurry…she handed over me to someone…I can’t recollect those moments…again my eyes fell asleep….and..and when I opened it again.., I was in my bed with Sithappa aside…I was shocked to feel myself in bed..I insisted to see Amma….Sithappa was caressing my head with teary eyes…I told him with weak voice but…but he wanted me to take rest…I..I felt strange and ran outside….Sithappa..h.he stopped me..but..but the rare muteness of the village scared me to the core…I..I looked the village..everywhere..b..but no one was anywhere…I was very scared by that time…I..
She sniffed and huffed silently…her voice was getting weak and low…he understood that what was coming up wasn’t good…he made his grip on her tight..
“I…neared the temple…and..and saw everyone gathered around..there..th….there..”
“Anikaa…” he whispered making her to look him…
“ I saw her dead body!!!..”
The tear which was rising in his eyes, fell lonely hearing this..
“She..She was dead Shivaay…she was murdered…I..I didn’t know how to react..I was…I was confused and broken as well…with that shock of losing my Amma, I was like a statue for days…many things happened during the next week..the village was whole silent..Appa’s silence, Sithappa’s fear everything made me feel so alone…and above all these, everyone were eyeing me sympathetically…this was the only factor that made me hate everything…with..with all these sudden moves, I…I was completely mad.. between these tragedies, Rohit was my only support..but his returning wasn’t too far…he, with Rachana chachi went soon leaving me in this big building all alone…and..one..one day, it happened.. Appa…he came to home with his one hand entwined with a woman’s hand…I was hell angry on him, when he announced that, from that day onwards, she will be my Amma…”
She tightened her grip on his hand which gave him a shock…her grip showed how much angry she was..
“I…I was losing my patience and everything…I argued and he rejected all my pleading…that day I saw a new version of him..more than on him, I was enraged on that woman who chose to keep silent even after witnessing all those mess…I tweaked their knot and messed with her dress and jewelries.. that day..that very day, my Appa slapped me for the first…”
She sniffed hard trying to pull her TEARS back inside..
“I minded that, all those happened just bcoz of that woman…I started avoiding her…started cursing her… and last made her away from me… I stopped myself from going near to her…this continued for that full year…In that year, everything had changed….Appa never talked to me..Villager’s were the same but..but their eyes told how away they are from me…they loved me the same but..but their actions hid favors.. I never wanted this..My life changed…my likes and dislikes too changed…and Amma… she became a star in the sky who shines whenever I look…”
She took a pause and looked the dark sky where few spots were gleaming and the Moon addressing himself as the head…the breeze was cold and her face soon got stained with the Tears..
“ then… she smiled…then chutki came…After Amma’s death, it was the first time I smiled…I..I felt like I got my life back…Even she’s that woman’s blood, but she was more than my little sis to me…uss din se mai wapas Jeena shuru kar dhiya…then came Sahil and Raju.. My life was a bonanza then..”
She smiled through her sob…
“I never loved that woman..but neither I hated…she is good..coz if she wasn’t then Gauri and Sahil would have been shoddily..Agar aaj voh dhonoun achha hai, tho voh sirf us aurath ki parvarish ki wajah se hai…but..but I can’t accept her as my mother…I just can’t.. Whenever I think of this topic, I got the flashes of Amma…somewhere in my heart, I feels like, she has tweaked my Amma’s place..she captured My Amma’s rights… huhhh… this thought stops me from thinking of her..but still, I don’t…I just…just…DON’T!!! hhhh “
She sighed out dropping a drop…
“ And now…Life has completely changed…After that incident, Appa never allowed me to go to city…bhohuth kuch badal gaya…I..I just can’t recollect anything… What I remember, I just said now…After that Day, Appa totally changed..he ,don’t know where, but goes somewhere everyday…
Now I have everything..but..Amma!!.. Shivaay, this world is sooo big!!! And I..I’m soooo small… Iss bade se duniya mei, ‘Hi Anika..kaise ho…’ aise poochne ke lie koi nehi hai mujhe.. I agree, gauri is more than my sis, but uski zindgi mei, mujhse pehle uski maa aathi hai…aur Sahil..he..he’s just a small bay who lives far away from us… kabhi kabhi uske bare mei sochkar boorah lagtha hoon.. Appa and Sithappa, hhhmm, they are very busy with their own matters that, don’t even remember me…Ramu kakka, Rejini kakki, Raju , TT (talking tom), all kids….everyone is enjoying their world… sometimes, I wish to have Amma besides me, who will have no excuses in caring me..to love me… Sh…Shivaay, sometimes I crave for someone’s love..and…and
Shivaay’s eyes were watery..
“ I feel so helpless…

Shivaay looks her half eyed with wetness…

Shivaay pulls her in a bone crushing hug..he couldn’t see his Anika broken…he wraped his arms around giving her a support…she clinched on to his shirt sobbing her heart out…he pulled her into him and caressed her hair with love…
‘ Nehi Anika…jab thak Shivaay zinda hai, you’ll never be alone…I will always be with you…I can’t imagine that you’ve gone through such tough situations..!! but..but now I’m here…you Shivaay..I’ll never let to fall…NEVER!!!
