Lunch break
Twinkle and Sanjay are having lunch.
Sanjay: Tune notice kiya Kunj ne life partner ke bare me kya keha? (You heard Kunj’s concept about his life partner?)
Twinkle: Haan…
Sanjay: Per tu to I card tikh ker rehi ti na.. Ek baar uski taraf dekha tak nahi. (But you never looked at him, you were busy with your I card.)
Twinkle: Sanjay, me kaan se sunti hun. Kunj ko dekhne ki kya zarurat hai?
Sanjay: Acha.. Tikh hai..Kuch samaj aayi tuje? (Ok. Fine. You understood anything?)
Twinkle: Hmm… Uska already koi girl friend hai…Aise bol reha tha, jaise ussi ke bare me baat ker reha hai.. (I think he already have a girl friend. He was so crisp and clear about his life partner.)
Sanjay keeps his hand on his head and thinks. “Kisko puch reha hu me bhi…”
Twinkle (watching him): Kyu? Kuch aur bi tha kya? (Did I miss anything?)
Sanjay: Tuje itna toh samaj aaya, issi me me khush hun. (Nothing. I am happy you understood it.)
Sanjay thinks. “Muje ye baat pehle Kunj se confirm kerna hoga. Usske baad hi tume bata sakta hun…” (I think I should first confirm it with Kunj, before telling it to you.)
Kunj, Twinkle and Sanjay are at tea break. Kunj has already informed them that he has to meet a friend at Cafeteria. So Sanjay and Twinkle can leave once they are finished with their tea. Twinkle and Sanjay have finished tea and snacks.
Twinkle: Chale Sanjay.
Sanjay: Tu chal. Me bus 5 min me aaya.
Twinkle: Ok. I will wait.
Sanjay: I need to talk to Kunj. Boy’s talk. You know.So please…
Twinkle leaves.
Kunj: Okay. Tell me.
Sanjay: Your life partner‘s concept was too good.
Kunj: Thanks.
Sanjay: Line marna hai toh maro…Koi tension nahi hai… Bus ye underground se cable connection lene ki zarurat nahi hai… (I can’t translate this conversation in English. Kuch cheezon ka mazaa hindi me hi aata hain. Hope you all understand this conversation)
Kunj: Matlab?
Sanjay: Matlab ye ki mere samne innocent na bana kero… Haan vo thodi duffer hain pyaar ke mamle me… Per muje ek nazar me samaj aa gaya tha ki aapko hai feelings uske liye…
Kunj: What are you talking? I was just giving my general concept. I am not in love with anyone.
Sanjay (with a smile): Sote aadmi ko jaga sakta hai…Per jo sone ka natak ker reha ho, uska hum kuch nahi ker sakte…
Kunj seems perplexed. He did not understand what Sanjay was talking about. After seeing Kunj’s expression, Sanjay also got confused. Sanjay doubts on his gut feelings.
Kunj: I really don’t know what you are talking about?
Sanjay: Shayad.. Shayad me galat hun. Ya phir me usse itne ache se jaanta hun ki jab tumne life partner ke bare me kaha toh muje uske siwaye koi aur nazar nahi aaya…Vaise tumhare paas time hai dost ke aane tak…Agar tum sach me nahi jaante ho to ek baar vapas soch ke dekho…
(May be you are right. Probably I know her so well that when I heard your concept, I couldn’t think of anyone else. Anyways you have to wait for your friend for some more time. If you really don’t know who she is, just think about your concepts once again.)
Sanjay leaves.
Kunj starts thinking. He realizes that each and every word he has told was exactly about Twinkle.
Kunj: How is that possible? I am not in love with Twinkle. But how can my concept exactly fit into Twinkle. Or Twinkle’s nature has changed my life partner’s concept. Is that what happened? I have never thought of her like that… Not at least in my conscious mind…
Kunj thinks. “If Twinkle fulfills my life partner’s concept, I think I am in love with Twinkle. Sanjay was right.”
Kunj shakes his head.
Kunj to himself: What rubbish. How can I think like that? This is all non sense. I am not in love. I can’t be… That to a girl in office. Loving a girl in your office messes up your career. I should concentrate on my career. I don’t have time for love.
Kunj’s friend came and they start talking. Kunj is a bit absent minded as he is thinking about Twinkle all the time. His friend left after their talks. Kunj is coming back to office.
Kunj thinks. “I am 100% clear that I have no feelings for her. But to make Sanjay believe, I think I should avoid her. I won’t think of her. Decided…”
Monday
As the month end is over, Alisha, Twinkle and Sanjay are in day shift. Kunj has come to his cabin.
Kunj to himself: A new day… A fresh start… Today I am not going to call Twinkle for anything. If she comes to me for any official purpose, that’s fine. I am not even going for break with them. It is a test for you.. Kunj…Brace yourself.
Kunj is working on his cabin. He had a discussion with Alisha regarding her process. She went back. He wanted to call Twinkle to his cabin for a discussion.
Kunj: Is my mind making stupid reasons to meet Twinkle? I think yes. I should not call her.
Kunj was having lunch with other team members. But his eyes were searching for someone. He felt a bit relaxed when Twinkle came to canteen. Twinkle and Sanjay was having lunch in another table. Kunj was talking to the team members about something. But still he made a few glances in between.
Kunj came back from his cabin. He is feeling restless. But anyhow he controlled himself from calling her or talking to her.
Next day morning all the team members are working on their orders. As usual all the team leads are supposed to meet AM and give the details of work flow.
For no reasons, Kunj was eagerly waiting for that meeting. Twinkle had some important presentations to prepare. So she gave the details to Sanjay and asked him to inform Kunj.
The meeting is over. Sanjay and Alisha leaves back to their work.
Kunj: Samajti kya hai apne aapko? Ek baar aake inform kerne me kitna time lagta hai? (What does she think of herself? How much time will it take to come and give the details?)
Kunj gets back to his work. After an hour or so, he takes phone to call Twinkle on desk phone. Later he controls himself.
He tries to have a glance of her through his cabin. Twinkle is talking to her team members. She is laughing and seems to be happy.
Kunj thinks. “Muje ghutan si kyu mahssos ho reha hai…Jaise kisine muje band ker ke rekha ho… Jaise saas lene me takliff ho reha ho… Ho kya reha hai?” (What’s wrong with me? Why am I feeling suffocated?)
That day also Kunj had lunch with other team members and Twinkle as usual with Sanjay. But he was expecting that Twinkle will ping her once or atleast she will ask him for tea break. He was continuosly looking at the IM from 4.30 Pm whereas the tea break time is 5.30. Twinkle left with Sanjay for tea break. Kunj could see it through his cabin.
Kunj to himself: Damn…Me usse ping nahi ker sakta,call nahi ker sakta… Per vo to aa sakti hai…Mat aao cabin me… At least she could have pinged me once. I am not talking to her from yesterday. She could at least have asked me once. Or that Sanjay could have called me for tea break.
Kunj goes out and washes his face and came back to his cabin.
Kunj: Me uske bare me sochna nahi chahta…Per ussi ke bare me sochta rehta hu.Me usko casually lena chahu bi to nai hota..She is impossible to ignore. She has become my center of gravity. I am in love with her…

* Escalation – A mail sent by the client to higher authorities of company to point out the error in process. This mail needs to be replied immediately with proper explanation/ an apology if error was from company’s end. Or else it will make a bad impression of company on client end.
