Kunj calls Alisha to his cabin. Alisha seems worried.
Kunj: How dare you check my system?
Alisha: I needed information immediately. So in a hurry, I did it. I am sorry.
Kunj: Don’t give that crap.You should have called me if it was that urgent. Unlocking some one else’s system is noncompliance. Don’t you know that?
Alisha: I am really sorry.
Kunj: Do you want me to give a complaint against you. You know what would be the consequences?
Alisha remains silent.
Kunj: Your career will be finished. Whatever you have achieved till date will be all in vain.I don’t want that to happen. I don’t want to destroy someone’s career. You better realize your mistake.
Alisha: Thank you Kunj. I am really sorry about it.
Kunj: You don’t seem to. Do you think you are still a school kid who can peep into your friend’s book? You are a team lead to 25 people. I expect you to be mature enough to lead these people.
Alisha is upset and is looking down.
Kunj: I told you this on day 1. We are friends. But at office, you are just another team member. That’s it. You better be clear on this.
Alisha: Sure Kunj. Sorry again.
Alisha leaves.
Next week (Month end week)
Alisha is in day shift. Sanjay and Twinkle are in night shift.
Kunj calls Twinkle and Sanjay to his cabin.
Kunj: So how is the work flow?
Sanjay: It is there. But not that huge. It will start by 10 pm will continue till 4 am. So the actual pressure is going to start by 10 pm.
Twinkle: Thursday (31st) will be hectic as that day work flow will start from the time of login.
Kunj: Okay.. Good. Let me know if you are facing any issues.
Kunj asks Sanjay to leave and Twinkle to stay back.
Kunj: I understand Alisha has prepared a good back up, Uday. I trust him. Still I want you to have an eye on their team.
Twinkle: Sure Kunj.
Kunj: Anything else?
Twinkle: You are in night shift?
Kunj: Yes, I am. Why?
Twinkle: Nothing. Generally AM doesn’t take night shifts. They are always on day shift. In fact they don’t need it.
Kunj: Why?
Twinkle: Generally AMs are there to scold the team leads. It can be done in phone also.
Kunj: Ohh…So according to you, my only work is to fire and scold you, Alisha and Sanjay. Is that what you wanna say?
Twinkle smiles: No, I didn’t mean that.
Kunj: That’s okay. This time I wanted to feel the work pressure which comes on our team and how it is handled. So I wanted to be in night shift.
Twinkle smiles and leaves.
Kunj: Ye jab smile kerti hai toh kitni achi lagti hai. Per bohut kam hasti hai bay me…May be because of work pressure.
Kunj starts joining Twinkle and Sanjay for tea break. Twinkle is as usual bubbly, happy and smiling at break times and a bit more serious in office. Sanjay has a doubt on Kunj as why he is slowly trying to get into their group. But he doesn’t express it in open.
Thursday (31st)
Entire team is damn busy with their work and don’t even have much time to talk to each other. Sanjay, Uday and Twinkle are also busy as they are resolving the issues of team members and handling the escalations. Twinkle shifted Uday’s work (actual work) to another team member as he couldn’t handle both the work. Kunj was just observing how team is working and he came in between to the bay and would cheer up the team.
4.15 AM
Team has completed all the works with all escalations resolved. Twinkle, Uday and Sanjay has pinged Kunj to notify him about the month end work is done. Kunj comes out of the cabin.
Kunj: Huge round of applause for the entire team. I am honoured to be AM of such an efficient team. I have seen how hard you guys have worked this whole week and especially today. You guys are incredible.
Entire team claps. All the team members are tired. But everyone was so happy that their AM has acknowledged their hard work. Twinkle and Sanjay noticed happiness in their face after all day’s hard work.
Team members now have started to go out for breaks as the work is completed. Kunj asks Twinkle and Sanjay for tea break.
Sanjay: You guys carry on. Month end work completion report needs to be sent to you before log out. It will take time to prepare. I can’t come.
At Cafeteria
Twinkle: Thank you Kunj. Those words really meant a lot to the team members. They never expected it from you.
Kunj: It is my responsibility to motivate them. I should be always with them. That’s my duty.
Twinkle: Yes. But generally AMs don’t bother to acknowledge such things.
Kunj smiles.
Kunj: I felt you were enjoying the work pressure rather than getting pissed off.
Twinkle (with a smile): I feel it is like Diwali or any other festival.
Kunj: Diwali?
Twinkle: Usual working days are like usual days. Nothing special. But Month end is like Diwali. You have huge number of things to do Pooja, Ghar sajana, Diyein lagana and 10 other things…You always will be worried whether it wil get completed, all will be done perfectly and so on. But by the end, everything will be alright. You will feel a satisfaction that “yes, we have done it and that to perfectly’… I take it this way…
Kunj: Awesome…
Next day (Friday)
Corporate offices have a fun Friday program which is conducted by HR to make the employees feel fresh from the monotonous job. As the month end is over, almost all the team members are free.
HR has come and started Truth or Dare game. Now it is Kunj’s turn to answer. Most of the girls in team have an eye on Kunj. They asked him what is your concept about your life partner.
Kunj (smiles): Fire.
HR: What?
Kunj: I know you would feel it a bit odd. But that’s my concept. She should be fire.
Girls: Explain.
Kunj: She should be fire. No one can touch her. She can protect herself. She won’t take any one’s crap.I don’t want a girl who needs my support to stand straight. She should have her own ideas. A head strong girl, who has her own principles and morals, which she won’t change for anyone. May be people will call her arrogant. But I feel it is her attitude. From my perspective, a relationship or a marriage is a 50- 50 partnership. I want her to be strong enough so that if at all, at any point of time I fail to protect our relation she should be there and vice versa.
(Vo aag ki tarah honi chahiye…Usse koi haat lagaye to jalade…Kisiki himmat na ho usse bina matlab kuch sunaye…Uska apna ek vajood hona chahiye. Per sirf mere liye, mom ki tarah pigal jaaye…)
HR: Physical features?
Kunj: Frankly it doesn’t matter much. But it would be great if she has beautiful eyes and a smile which would drive me crazy.
Sanjay: Ye apna life partner ka concept bata reha hai ki pure team ke samne Twinkle ko hint de reha hai…
Sanjay looks at Twinkle. She was removing her I card and doing something.
Sanjay: Ye lo… Banda yahan khulam khulla line mar reha hai… aur ye duffer apne I card tikh ker rehi hai… Isska kuch nahi ho sakta…
