Actors are always cherished for going an extra mile for their role. Tarun Khanna recently shaved his head for his role of Tulsidas in Vighnaharta Ganesh. Tarun has done this second time, first time it was for the role of Chanakya in the tv show Porus. In an interview with BT, Tarun talks about it and says, “I was using prosthetics to showcase a bald pate, but realised that a lot of time was getting wasted in the process. It was also causing a lot of discomfort and the heat was making it even more challenging. I used to feel very itchy and worried about getting a rash. So, I told the unit that I would go bald and they were quite excited (laughs!). I decided to shave my head on a whim.”
He believes that the character is bigger then the actor, he shares, “Anything for a character. This is what I have maintained throughout. I won’t hesitate even for a second if I have to repeat this in the future. I will do whatever it takes to fit into a character and look the part.”
When asked about his wife and son’s reaction to him going bald, he shared, “I clicked pictures and shared my ‘new look’ with Smriti. She replied with multiple ‘facepalm’ emoticon and told me not to return home for at least a month till my hair grows back. My son was laughing nonstop.”
