It’s always challenging to replace an actor who has already been a part of a show for a long time. Actress Tanvi Thakkar who replaced Yamini Malhotra in the show Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meinn talked about it in an interview with BT and shared that it is indeed very challenging to take somebody else’s place but it’s important for the new actor to bring in his own style.
She said, “Even if I have replaced someone, it doesn’t mean that I cannot change anything. I sit with the team and work on how we can make the character look better. For example, I have started wearing a nose ring, which this character never wore earlier. Shivani in the show is stylish, so I make suggestions keeping that in mind. And the suggestions I make are respected. When I joined the show, I had decided that I would do things my way. I never looked at what the previous actor did. I am happy with the response that I have got from the audience.”
Tanvi has been in the industry for more than a decade now. Talking about her fair share of ups and downs, she shared, “I think once you see the downs, then you can truly enjoy the ups. Before joining this show, I sat at home for two-and-a-half years. If I had not, then I wouldn’t have valued what I have today. I have always said that I am blessed,” she says.
She further adds, “In these past two years, I have learned to respect my work more. I get anxious if I am late, so I come to the sets even before other people are here. Even if I am one minute late, I start trembling I don’t want to mess it up in any way.”
The actress loves the small screen and shared that even if other avenues open up, television will always remain special for her. “Web shows are something which everyone wants to do nowadays because the content is so relatable. When I was at home, I also used to think that I want to do web shows, but as soon as I got a role on a television show, my thought process changed. I understood that this is my world. I love it so much. This is my comfort zone. Yes, I would want to explore other things, but I am also happy where I am.”
Along with GHKPM Tanvi is also known for his role in shows like Bepannah Pyaar and Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant in the past.
