Tale of Princess ft Queens of Mahabharat – Epi 1

Hi peeps, hope everyone is doing well.

This account belongs to my sister who is in abroad now. Since she couldn’t able to write, I thought to give it a try. Initially, I thought to continue her ff but unfortunately, I’m not comfortable with that. So, I started a new ff. Hope everyone will support me.

This ff is based on Mahabharat which primarily focuses on Draupadi and her relationship with Arjun. This is made up of a lot of “What ifs?” questions. Hope you like it. Please give your feedback in the comments.

Disclaimer:

I know this is a religious mythology, but mine is just an ff. Please don’t get offended or hurt. If so, apologies from my side!!!!!

Episode 1

Scene 1

A beautiful palace is shown. A swan of doves is floating in the pond. A beautiful princess is sitting and watching the doves. Another princess comes to her and addresses her as didi. The latter turns and calls her Bhanumathi.

Bhanumathi: Devika, the future queen of the great Hastinapur is sitting here sadly. What happened didi?

Devika: Bhanu, please don’t call me the queen. I don’t have any interest in being a queen. This kingdom issue has grown a lot now. It has killed my husband’s peace. Even if he becomes the king, I won’t step on the throne.

Bhanu: Didi, what nonsense are you speaking? I know, the dispute between the brothers has grown and even I heard my husband speaking with Karn bhai that there might be a war. But if your husband wins, then as his wife, you need to step on the throne. And also, our husbands are pretty good compared to our ancestors who had two wives. If you say this, then definitely there is a high chance that Jeju might get married again.

Devika: He won’t look at any other girl except me.

Just then Kunti, Ghandari, Ambalika, and Ambika come there.

Kunti: Don’t trust these Kuru’s genes Putri.

Devika and Bhanu seek blessings from there. It is noticed that both Devika and Bhanu are pregnant one month apart each other. Devika is 5 months and Bhanu is 4 months pregnant respectively.

Ambika: Devika and Bhanu, this trimester you both should be careful. There will be a seasonal change and you’ll get infected easily. So, stay in indoors as much as possible.

Devika and Bhanu: Sure dadi.

Ghandari: You both were speaking about the war when we came. What’s the matter between the brothers?

Bhanu: Ma, I heard your son speaking with the Anga king that there might be a war against his cousin Yudhistra and asked him to keep the battalion ready.

Kunti: Didi, this shouldn’t happen.

Ambalika: Bhanu, did your hear this? Is this true? Duryodhana is really going to attack his brother or some other king?

Bhanu: Dadi, he is going to attack Yudhistr soon.

Ghandari: This needs to be stooped immediately or else our clan will be destroyed completely. A nation that has brothers’ disputes won’t flourish for a long period.

Just then, Satyavati enters.

Everyone pays respect to her.

Satyavati: I’m glad at least ladies are united unlike the males. I hope the kids of the next generation shouldn’t have this dispute.

Devika: Mataji, me and Bhanu are like sisters. Definitely, our sons will not turn up as enemies.

Satyavati: Even Kunti and Ghandari were like that before Kunti went into exile with Pandu. If she had stayed here and raised the children here, then definitely this sort of bitterness wouldn’t have been raised in Duryodhana’s heart.

Ghandari: Mataji, ask pitaji to speak with Duryodhana.

Satyavati: I promise you ladies, till I’m alive, there won’t be a war in our family. It’s my duty to solve this issue.

Just then, a servant comes and informs that prince Bhim has come.

He enters and pays his duties to everyone.

Bhim: Everyone has to bid me goodbye now as I’m going to see Hidimbi as they have their annual festival.

Kunti: Bhim, tell her that I asked about her a lot. And give these pearls to my grandson Gatotkach.

Ghandari also gives him a present.

Bhanu: Jeju, I have prepared ladoos for Gatotkach. Please give it to him. Tell him that I miss him.

Bhim: He is just 2 years old and you all spoiled him a lot already.

Bhanu: He is our son also.

Bhim nods with teary eyes.

Devaki: Devarji, here take this saree ritual plate. This is for Hidimba. I know that this should be given by the parents’ family. But since her brother also passed away, please give this from my side as I consider her as my sister.

Bhim: Thank you Bhabiji.

He then seeks blessings from the elders but Satyavati doesn’t bless him.

Bhim: Mataji, I hope one day you will accept her.

He then leaves.

Kunti: Mataji, Hidimba is a lovely girl. She has completely left her demon nature and living as a common girl.

Satyavati: No matter, what explanations you give, I really want Bhim to marry a princess. Is there any scarcity of the princess in our nation?

Kunti: Mataji, they both love each other. Even though I was against them but their love changed my heart. My son is happy with her.

Satyavati: Enough of this love. Because of my love for my husband, Bheeshma’s life is spoiled. I won’t let another love ruin this kingdom.

She then takes a leave. Ghandari consoles Kunti.

Scene 2

Another beautiful palace is shown. Some girls are running behind one girl. They ask her to stop running. She stops and turns back. She is Draupadi, the princess who was born on fire. She is the most beautiful princess in the whole world. She then splashes water on their faces and runs away.

Those girls get exhausted and tell that the princess has once again cheated on them. They decide to tell Dadisa.

Girls: Dadisa, she left once again.

Dadisa: I’ll see to her. You go and do your work.

She goes to a lake and finds Draupadi sitting there.

Dadisa: Putri…

Draupadi: Dadisa…

Dadisa: Why are you sitting here alone?

Draupadi: I don’t want this suyamwar to happen. I don’t want to leave Panchaal.

Dadisa laughs…

Dadisa: Putri, you lost your mom while you were growing up. You always longed for a mother’s love. So, after your marriage, you will get that through your Mother-in-law. I only thought to you that marriage is not the destination. It is a part of the journey. Now your part has arrived. You are well educated in both national duty and household chores. You have knowledge of all 64 cultures. Why are you hesitating?

Draupadi: But how to choose the right person? Is one competition enough? I feel like being an object and not a human.

Dadisa: Draupadi, listen to me. This world always considers girls as the object and we don’t have sufficient power to overcome the male chauvinists. Every grandmother won’t tell this. But I’m telling you this. Listen carefully, you are not a common girl who is bounded only to the home. You have the knowledge of ruling a nation. You need to bring a change. You be yourself. Don’t suppress your thoughts and feelings anywhere. Marry anyone but if that marriage is not good for you, then come out of it. Come to our place. If your husband declared war, we’ll face it. Don’t worry about that. Your father and brother will take care. But our ultimate aim is you should be happy. I’m hopeful that only the right person will be able to lift that bow. Moreover, Krishna will be here. So, don’t feel.

Draupadi: Thanks, dadisa, if you are not here, I don’t know what will I be doing.

She hugs her and they both go to their palace…
