Part 10

Swara’s POV

I know it’s a dumb picture but I couldn’t find a better one/ I was too lazy to keep looking for a better one;)

“Well,” Dr. Barnes said.

“Whatever it is Dr. Barnes, I can handle it,” possibly.

“The good news swara is that you don’t have an STD, the bad news is….”

“Well,” I say

“You’re pregnant,” she said. Suddenly I felt dizzy, it was like the whole world was spinning out of control.

I started crying, I couldn’t believe that I was carrying rajat’s baby. Out of all people, it was Rajat’s.

“You can choose to have an abortion, if you like Swara,” Dr. Barnes tried to comfort me.

“No,” I said in between sobs. I looked at Sanskar, he seemed to be confused, scared even. He saw me looking at him, and snapped out of it, and wrapped his arms around me. I calmed down enough to talk.

“I’m not going to kill this child, it hasn’t done anything wrong. It wouldn’t be right.”

“Are you sure, Shona,” Sanskar asked looking directly into my eyes.

“Yes, Sanskar, I’m going to have this baby, even if he or she ends up looking exactly like rajat,” Sanskar looked confused at first by my reasoning, but then he agreed with me.

“Alright, it’s your choice,” he said.

“You’re not going to leave me now, are you?” I pleaded.

“Of course not Shona, I told you I love you, and I’m not going anywhere, anytime soon,” He replied. I smiled and he kissed me. Then laksh waked into the room.

“Is it true, shona… you’re pregnant?” Laksh asked. It felt weird saying nodding yes, but it was true.
“And you’re keeping it?” He asked confused.

“Yes, laksh bhai”

“But, but you’re only 17”

“I know,”

“What if it looks like rajat”

“I already thought about that, and I don’t care because it won’t be rajat. It will be my child, and nothing else matters, killing someone before they even got a chance to do something wrong would be terrible and you know that laksh bhai,” He looked down and walked over to me and hugged me.

“Okay shona, I’m trusting you on this one, but we’re gonna have to tell Mom that you’re keeping it,” Oh shit, I’m not sure if she’ll agree with my decision.

“Where’s Sahil, I wanna go home,” I said.

“He’s right outside, I’ll go tell the doctor we’re leaving, come on,” I got up off the bed and Sanskar took my hand.

“Hey laksh,”

“Yea?”

“You wanna tell Sahil I’m pregnant with his sister’s killer’s son’s baby, and that I’m keeping it?” He gave me a you’re-crazy-if-you-think-want-to-tell-him-that face.

“Fine, but your telling mom and dad all my yourself then,” he gave me a satisfied look and then ran off. Ugh great, this’ll be fun.

Sanskar’s POV

“Well,” Dr. Barnes said.

“Whatever it is Dr. Barnes, I can handle it,” swara said back to her. In all honesty, I kind of don’t want to know.

“The good news swara is that you don’t have an STD, the bad news is….” Thank God.

“Well,” swara says getting impatient.

“You’re pregnant,” she said. I’ll kill him. I’ll kill rajat.

Swara started crying. He has hurt my shona, so much already, and now she has a child.

“You can choose to have an abortion, if you like Swara,” Dr. Barnes tries to comfort swara, without success.

“No,” she said in between sobs. What? Why does she want to have rajat’s child. It’s only going to remind he of what happened, something I know she’ll want to forget. I was so confused, but then I saw shona staring at me so I shook away my mixed emotions to comfort her, I held her tightely in my arms.

“I’m not going to kill this child, it hasn’t done anything wrong. It wouldn’t be right.” she said.

“Are you sure, shona,” I asked looking directly in her eyes, so I could see if there was any part of her that didn’t want the child.

“Yes, sanskar, I’m going to have this baby, even if he or she ends up looking exactly like rajat,” I don’t understand, but it’s Shona’s decision.

“Alright, it’s your choice,” I said finally.

“You’re not going to leave me now, are you?” I think she’s more afraid of losing me than she is of having this child, but I’ll never leave her.

“Of course not shona, I told you I love you, and I’m not going anywhere, anytime soon,” I replied. She smiled and I kissed her. Then laksh walked into the room.

“Is it true, shona.. you’re pregnant?” Laksh asked. She nodded her head.

“And you’re keeping it?” He asked confused.

“Yes, laksh”

“But, but you’re only 17”

“I know,”

“What if it looks like rajat,” Looks like laksh agrees with me.

Then He pulled away and turned his attention towards me.

“You’re not leaving her this time, you got it, otherwise you’ll have to deal with me, you got off too easy last time,” he threatened. If only he knew how the thought of losing shona again scares the hell out of me.

“I’m not going anywhere laksh, you’re stuck with me,” I smiled at laksh, and looked to see that shona was smiling too.

“Where’s sahil ,I wanna go home,” she said.

“He’s right outside, I’ll go tell the doctor we’re leaving, come on,” shona got up off the bed and I took her hand in mine.

“Hey laksh,” Mia said

“Yea?” He replied

“You wanna tell sahil I’m pregnant with his sister’s killer’s son’s baby, and that I’m keeping it?” He gave her a you’re-crazy-if-you-think-I-want-to-tell-him-that face.

“Fine, but your telling mom and dad all by yourself then,” He looked satisfied with his answer and then ran off to check shona out of the hospital.

“Sanskar?” Mia said weakly.

“Yes Mia,” I said looking into her eyes.

“Do you really love me?”

“Of course, there is no one else in the world that could make me feel as happy as I am around you. I love you shona no matter what,” That was th elast thing either of us said till we got home.

After 8 months

Swara’s POV

It’s been exactly eight months, two weeks, and four days since I found out I was pregnant. To my suprise all of my friends have supported my decision to keep my baby. They even threw me a baby shower last month, we had so much fun. They all want me to find out the gender of my baby, but I want to be suprised, besides what’s the rush. Luckily my parents are fine with me keeping the child too, and they even bought me a crib to put in my room for when the baby comes. I have also made arrangements for my older cousin who lives close by to watch my soon to be baby while I’m at school, she works at night so she can watch him/her from eight to three. I’m still with sanskar too, he’s been such a great boyfriend, ezpecially since a lot of people at school have been making fun of us. That’s where my life turns to hell. There are rumors spreading around that sanskar got me pregnant. I hate them so much, they have no idea how wrong that is, especially since what really happened is nothing to joke about. My friends are there to protect me though so I have nothing much to be worried about, plus it’s summer now so they can’t bother me no more. There’s also all the fun things that come with being pregnant that drive me insane. Throwing up like every hour, weird cravings, and mood swings. One minute I’m super happy, and then I’m crying my eyes out, I don’t know how they put up with me.

“Omygod, I almost forgot!” I shouted, probably a little too loud.

“What?” Pooja asked.

“Today is a whole year that you and rahul have been together,” I said.

“Yea, I know,” She said, not happily enough.

“Well, then why are you hanging out with me and not with him?!”

“I like hanging out with you,” pooja’s such a terrible liar. I gave her a do-you-think-I’m-stupid face.

“Okay, okay fine, truth is I think he forgot..” she said, my jaw dropped, and I stood up.

“He didn’t,” pooja looked down at the floor.

“Well then I’m calling him,” I said pulling my phone out of my pocket.

“Nooo!” Pooja whined.

“Well why not,”

“Because you’ll make him feel bad,” I’m really good at making people feel bad.

“Exactly,”

“Shona, please don’t,”

“Ugh fine, I’ll call sanskar, you can’t stop me from calling my own boyfriend,” I said proudly, after one ring he picked up.

“Shona, are you okay? What’s going on? Why’d you call? Is the baby coming?” Sanskar asked frantically.

“Sanskar calm down I still got like two more weeks until I’m due the baby’s not coming yet.” I could hear him let out a sigh of relief.

“Well then, what is it?”

“Did you know it’s rahul and pooja’s anniversary and he forgot?” I could hear sanskar laughing.

“Why are you laughing?” I was getting really angry all of a sudden, damn mood swings.

“Because he didn’t forget,”

“What do you mean he didn’t forget, if he remembered then why is pooja here with me and not with him?”

“What was rahul’s excuse for not being able to hang out with pooja today,” I looked at pooja and asked her.

“She said that he said he was going to the batting cages to practice his batting,”

“Well there it is that’s a lie,”

“How do you know?”

“Well one because I’m at the batting cages and two he told me he needed to go buy pooja a present, he’s been stressing all week about what to get her, that’s why he hasn’t been talking to pooja very much lately,”

“Ohhhh, I knew he didn’t forget,”

“Sure you did shona,”

“Hey!”

“Sorry sweetie, now go tell pooja to calm down, rahul’s got something up his sleeve,”

“Okay bye love ya!”

“I love you too,” I hung up the phone, and turned to the anxiously waiting pooja.

“Well?!”

“He didn’t forget, and he’s not at the batting cages, he’s out buying you something,” I said and smile appeared on pooja’s face. Just then her phone vibrated.

Hey I got home from the batting cages, can I pick you up from shona’s to take you out to dinner? By the way happy anniversary♥
-Rahul

“He’s wants to take me to dinner!” she said while she texted him back.

“But you look like crap,”

“Hey, not nice,”

“You know it’s the truth, come on let’s go fix you for your date,”

“But rahul could be here any minute,”

“Well then stop talking and follow me,” We ran upstairs to my room. She did her hair and fixed her make up while I picked her out an outfit to wear.

“Well, what do you think?”

“You look beautiful,” I smiled as pooja twirled in one of my dresses.

We heard the doorbell ring downstairs.

“Hey Rahul”
“Hey shona, is pooja here?”

“Yup come on in,” rahul looked cute.

“Pooja you look gorgeous,” rahul said

“Why thank you,” pooja replied smiling.

“Shall we?” he asked.

“Let’s go! Bye shona, thanks for everything!”

“No problem pooja,” I said and then shut the door. They are so cute together. I walked into the kitchen and opened the freezer.

“Well, I guess it’s just me and you, ice cream, come on let’s go watch Aladdin.” I grabbed the whole carton and a spoon, and headed for my couch. I was about ten minutes into the movie when I heard a knock on the door. Ughh
“Door’s open!” I shouted too lazy to get up. I turned my head to see who was there, sanskar I smiled.

“Whatcha got there?” I asked pointing to the bag in his hands.

“Chinese food, thought you’d be hungry, but it looks like you’ve got ice cream so I guess this is for me,” He took a seat next to me revealing all the delicious food he had brought with him.

“No! I want some too, pregnant here hello? I can eat a horse and still be hungry,” he laughed and handed me some chopsticks and the carton of lomein my favorite.

“I love you,” I said and then took a big bite of lomein.

Sanskar’s POV

It’s been a little more than eight months since shona found out she was pregnant. I’m just happy school’s over, she’s been getting a lot of crap about being pregnant, thank god for her friends. Kiran’s been the worst, she keeps telling people that I broke up with her because I got shona pregnant. I can’t stand her I don’t know what I ever saw in her. Anyway I’ve found that everytime she calls me I panic that her water broke. Like now.

“Shona, are you okay? What’s going on? Why’d you call? Is the baby coming?” I ask frantically.

“Sanskar calm down I still got like two more weeks until I’m due the baby’s not coming yet.”I let out a sigh of relief.

“Well then, what is it?” I ask.

“Did you know it’s rahul and pooja’s anniversary and he forgot?” I start to laugh.

“Why are you laughing?” she asked kind of angrily.

“Because he didn’t forget,” I say looking over at rahul , who’s looking at necklaces or something.

“What do you mean he didn’t forget, if he remembered then why she is here with me and not with him?”

“What was Rahul’s excuse for not being able to hang out with pooja today,” I asked already knowing the answer.

“She said that he said he was going to the batting cages to practice his batting,”

“Well there it is that’s a lie,” I probably shouldn’t have told her that, but whatever she’ll find out sooner or later.

“How do you know?”she questoined

“Well one because I’m at the batting cages and two he told me he needed to go buy pooja a present, he’s been stressing all week about what to get her, that’s why he hasn’t been talking to pooja very much lately,” I lied a little, if I told her I was with him she’d want to talk to him.

“Ohhhh, I knew he didn’t forget,” I smiled at this, typical shona, always wanting to be right.

“Sure you did shona,” I said sarcastically.

“Hey!”

“Sorry sweetie, now go tell pooja to calm down, rahul’s got something up his sleeve,” I said watching rahul buying the necklace.

“Okay bye love ya!”

“I love you too,” I said and she hung up. I ran over to rahul.

“Come on hurry up,”

“What? Why?”

“Pooja thinks you forgot about her,”

“How do you- that was shona on the phone wasn’t it?”

“Yup, so let’s go,” We ran to my car and I dropped him off at his house.

“Thanks man, see you around,”

“Alright have fun on your date,” I said as I pulled away. On my way home I realized that with pooja gone shona will be all by herself, even though I know nothing could happen to her, I still get nervous knowing that she’s alone, so I decide to grab some chinese for her and swing by her house.

I knock on the door and hear her shout for me to come in, she’s probably sitting down and doesn’t want to get up, but who could blame her I mean she is more than eight months pregnant. I walk in to find her watching Aladdin and eating ice cream.

Whatcha got there?” She said pointing to my bag of chinese food.

“Chinese food, thought you’d be hungry, but it looks like you’ve got ice cream so I guess this is for me,” I sat down next to her and started to take out the food one by one.

“No! I want some too, pregnant here hello? I can eat a horse and still be hungry,” I laughed and handed her some chopsticks and the carton of lomein her favorite.

“I love you,” she said, and shoved a pile of lomein in her mouth.

By the time the movie had ended it was only about 7 so we watched 2states and then aashiqui2. by then it was almost 11 and laksh and her parents were home so I left, knowing that she was no longer home alone.
