Recap : Sharmishtha breaks ties with Shekhar
In the night at the dinner table (Maheshwari house)
Sanskar, RP and Sujatha were sitting and having their dinner.
(RP) “So where is Uttara today?”
(Sanskar) “She has gone out with Rajat. I believe Uttara wanted to go for some movie, so she dragged Rajat along.”
(RP) “Again?? No wonder lately both Rajat and Uttara are missing work. I guess I have to be a little strict with them.”
(Sanskar) “Dad I know I am going to defend Rajat, but it is not his fault entirely. It’s always Uttara who wants to go out and have fun. She says that she wants to enjoy her engaged life. “
(Sujatha) “Why are you both having so much of a problem? Let my daughter enjoy her life. As said this is her time to enjoy, else after marriage (looking towards RP) the life becomes boring.”
(RP) “Let’s not start the matter about our marriage life here; I have given you and the kids all the freedom they want. I never have interfered in any of your lives. But what Uttara is making Rajat do is wrong. Rajat must be given freedom for what he wants; he just can’t always do what Uttara wants. I have known Rajat since young and I know his nature too. He is a little conservative and he loves his work. Rajat is a very sweet and caring guy that doesn’t mean Uttara has to take advantage of him everytime. I know he likes going around but I am certainly sure he doesn’t wants to miss his work. Lately seeing Rajat’s body language, I hope he doesn’t back off from this marriage.”
(Sujatha) “Why would he back off. Uttara is a good girl. Just because she is asking for something, doesn’t make a big difference at all. “
(Sanskar) “Mom, but what dad says is right. She is going way too much out of hand. She is treating Rajat like garbage. He always waits for her for an hour or more just because she is busy chit chatting with someone else on her phone. She always does that. I myself have witnessed it more than two times. This is really wrong. Just because he is Rajat, he is taking all her tantrums and fulfilling it patiently. If there would have been some other guy in place of him, he would have called off the engagement.”
(Sujatha) “So what are you trying to imply Sanskar, you want me to cut her wings off?”
(Sanskar) “Mom, I am not saying to cut her wings. I am just saying you to explain her all this, so that she can lead a very happy life.”’
(RP’s POV) RP was just looking at how wife is being so ignorant and she is least bothered about this entire topic. I think I should step forward and talk to Uttara myself.
(Sujatha) “You both Father and Son duo, stop all this. I am not going to tell her anything. She is an adult and she will understand herself. She knows the difference between the right and the wrong. So please let her do what she wants and do not interfere in her matter.”
(Sanskar) “Mom, please understand it’s for her well being. Later do not regret if anything wrong happens after her wedding.”
(RP) “Let’s stop this matter (eyeing Sanskar that he would talk to Uttara about it someday) and continue with the dinner.”
After the heated discussion, all ate the dinner in silence and dispersed off to their respective rooms.
Sanskar after leaving the dining arena, went straight to his room and opened his Laptop. Then he opened his diary and started typing, he wanted to vent out the entire frustration of his mother’s behavior in the diary, as there was no one to listen to him other than his diary. So he started typing
Dear Diary,
I do not understand one thing, what is the mission in the life of a lady. Why do they think that what always girls or ladies do is fine and if you bar them from doing, they think that the men should only walk on what they say? This is not right. When I hear my mom speaking like this, I feel so disgusted. Disgusted because my mom has got all the freedom that dad has given and still she keeps on cribbing. She has never ever given us (Sanskar and Uttara) any importance. She did give Uttara importance just to spoil her. She has never had time for her own kids. How can someone be heartless towards her kids I never understand but living example was or still is my mom. I love her a lot but as a child I missed her especially when I needed her to save me from the dark and the evil but no she was not there. If not for my dad, I would never been alive. I don’t mind women being independent but at what cost are they being independent. From what I see in my family, Kavita or even our so called rich society all the women are the same, they want independence at the cost of Family’s happiness. If you think I am male chauvinist then I am and I don’t regret. For just telling or correcting something and then ladies call them as chauvinism, I don’t think I am wrong. I am proud of myself. I just wish my dad was a little bit strict with mom as well as Uttara and also with me, so that we didn’t have to learn life’s lesson in the wrong or hard way. I just know my dad he is the best. I know he will come up with a solution but I do not know how far the ladies of our house will accept. Let’s see”
Writing a little bit more, Sanskar dozed off with his head on the table.
Later RP came inside the room, seeing Sanskar’s tensed face and getting the glimpse of his diary, he decided he would at least try to speak to the ladies I do not want my son to think that I am coward or a spineless father. I will try to make things right and that would just be for my children and especially for Sanskar whether Sujatha likes it or not.
At the Bose House,
The girls were giggling and satisfied when they heard about the tiff between Shekhar and Sharmishtha through Ragini. Both the girls were happy to the core to see that their mother took such a bold step. They decided that they would make sure that Sharmishtha would never feel guilty of the decision that she had taken.
(Swara) “ I still can’t believe Ragu that Maa has taken such a big step. I am glad she did, but I still feel somewhere down the line that man will come back again and Maa might even forgive him.”
(Nandini) “ I don’t think so Di that Maa will fall weak , at least not after what she has told Mr.Shekhar today. That’s for sure he will still keep coming thinking that Maa would forgive him. Also we know that Mr.Shekhar will start sending Mr.Aditya to spy on us”
(Swara) “That is true. He truly gets on my nerves. How much ever you insult Aditya, he always comes back for free food. Like father like son.”
Ragini and Nandini started laughing thinking of Aditya.
(Swara chipped in and asked) “Why are you guys laughing?”
(Nandini) “Di, one day Aditya had come home and mom asked us to bring juice for him….. (Ha ha ha ha)”
Since Nandini thinking of Aditya started laughing, Ragini continued controlling her laugh and spoke
(Ragini) “ So what we did was soap water in his juice. If you would have been there looking at his disgusted face, even you would have started laughing. He was not able to say Maa anything because Nandu was giving him a glare that she would punch him if he spilled the beans. So sad of Aditya he had to gulp the entire thing without saying a word. Later
when he left, he complained Papa and then Maa shouted at us. Her scolding was of no use as the damage was already done to Aditya and Nandu and I had our share of fun.”
(Swara) “What when did this happen? You guys didn’t even bother to tell me. That’s bad.”
(Nandu) “Oh my dear Di, I am so sorry. It would have slipped of our mind since both of us were intoxicated by mom’s scolding :-P”
(Swara) “Next time when he comes let us try something again. I want to be a part of your Naughty plan Nandu” (Swara smirked)
(Nandini) “Sadly, That is not possible now because after that incident. Mom only cooks for him and mom only serves him”
(Swara) “So I missed a golden opportunity but I am still scared about Mr.Shekhar…..”
Swara was cut by Ragini’s words
(Ragini) “Swara, would you please stop worrying about nonsense stuff. When I am in the house, I would keep reminding him that he is just a guest and nothing more. Why are you always thinking negative? Chill Swara all good is going to happen. Anyways now you go and sleep, from tomorrow you have to go to University also.”
(Swara) “Fine I will not take tension. Good Night girls. I have to write something important and then I will sleep.”
(Nandini) “We know Di that you cannot sleep without writing your diary. So Good Night and Happy writing.”
Swara then left to her room and opened her diary (She writes in a notebook)
Heya Diary,
I have come again to my cribbing because I cannot share all my feelings with my sisters or maa because I do not want to burden them with my worries and with my talks. You know Diary I am so happy today, you know what Mom has taken her life’s biggest decision of rebuking Dad. I know I am calling him dad but he will always be that, though in front of him I am super strong but even I wished that dad would have been with us and wouldn’t have left us just because my Mom was not able to give him a son. Why on earth, does the society value a family on the basis of whether there is a Son in the family or not. Just to prove my dad wrong, I always topped in all my exams thinking that he would appreciate me, but he never even bothered whether I topped or not. He never was happy with any success that we sisters got. He only bragged about Aditya doing this and that. It’s as if he felt that we daughters are nothing but barriers in his life. I don’t understand who those lucky girls are who get lots of love from their dads. I wished I had got such dad. I always felt jealous of girls in my school that used to picked up and dropped by their dads. I wished even my dad was like that. But what did my dad do, he shifted all the responsibilities first on my mom’s head and now the entire burden has been divided among mom and we siblings. The only problem is that being elder I have more responsibilities because I want to see my sisters in the best position of their education as well in their life. I just cannot think about myself but I have to think about my family as a whole. When Ragini had to drop from her college because of her depression, I still remember it was hard to find a good teacher for her home schooling but yes by mom’s effort we found a good teacher. The teacher was so good that Ragini came out of her depression and also the psychiatrist had helped her a lot, she still goes to her psychiatrist for her routine checkups. Seeing Ragini, Nandini turned out to be strong and individual. She hated dad since the beginning as she had never gotten any love from him. The worst when she was born, Aditya was born just few days before Nandini. Dad was playing double game with mom and he had an extra marital affair with that b*t*h Sakshi. I just hate her. My mom had known but still kept quiet, I didn’t know how. If ever I would have been in her position, I would have definitely left him but my mom was madly and deeply in love with him. I guess I have written enough for the day. Bye Diary see you tomorrow. I have my university to attend
Swara had gone to her bed as she had to get up early to start for her university.
Next day, Swara got up and she saw that there were new bag and a nice tee kept for her near her dressing table. She was shocked to see all this. Then she hurried up taking her tee and jeans and ran to washroom as she didn’t want to be late the very first day.
When she came out dressed, she saw that her mom and both her sisters were waiting for her.
(Sharmishtha) “Good Morning Swara. So I see my daughter all ready for her new innings.”
(Swara) “Yes Ma, I am totally ready”
(Sharmishtha) “Ok Beta. Take this.(Handing box to her) It has your Lunch and some fruits to give you energy throughout the day. I know you would feel hungry as you have to leave early and by the time you reach home it would be almost 6 in the evening. (Handing over another pouch to Swara) This is some money for your transportation and in case you feel hungry, for food.”
(Swara) “Maa, but I do not need money for food as you have already given me.”
(Sharmishtha) “Just keep it beta when what is required we never know. So just have some money with you always. Moreover I know you have put in all your savings in buying of
books though its second hand. I also know you have invested some money for music class that will be taken in your college as that was not part of your scholarship. So keep quiet and take the money.”
Swara hugged her mom and said her THANK YOU.
Then Ragini started teasing Swara
(Ragini) “Someone is super happy today and looking really hot in this new TEE. You know you don’t have to thank me forgetting you this TEE. All the best for your new session,
Swara. Go rock your university and show everyone that you are the best. (Handing over a bag) Use this in your university. It is kind of cool.”
(Swara) “Thanks Ragu for your best wishes. Why was the need for you to buy a bag when you already gifted me a TEE?”
(Ragini) “Do not worry Swara dear. Everything was within the budget and I have had enough savings. If you don’t believe I can still show you that I have money in my bank account as well I have some cash.”
(Swara) “Thanks again Ragu”
(Nandini) “Now my turn has come finally. Here Di take this (Handing her the cover)”
(Swara) “What is this Nandu?”
(Nandini) “Just don’t waste time and open and see fast. Even I have to go to school remember”
(Swara opened the gift and was shocked) “What was the need now for you to spend so much on this.”
(Nandini) “Chill Di, the shoes (her gift) are rough and tough. You can use it for your entire two years and still nothing would happen to these shows. Moreover I didn’t want you to wear your boring shoes. Also I had savings so I purchased it.(she said it with a big smile)”
(Swara overwhelmed) “Thank you everyone for making my start special. I love you all”
She hugged everyone and after that she said her bye and left for her university. Swara had to start early because Dundas (the place where they stayed) was quite far from the University. She didn’t want to stay in dorm because she cannot stay away from her family. It would daily take her almost hour and a half to reach her university and also on her way back it would take her almost the same time.
At the Maheshwaris
Sanskar got up, took out his clothes and went to get fresh. When he came back from washroom, he saw a gift on his bed. It was from his dad. RP gave him a pen and a cool bag to carry his books. He was so happy to see his dad’s gift. He was expecting something from his mom and her sister but his expectations just washed away. They just wished him good luck. He then ate his breakfast and left to pick up Kavita and Sahil. As everyone stayed close by, it took only half for Sanskar to reach the university after picking up both his friends. It was cool and there were lot of freshers. He was pretty excited for his new beginning.
At the Class
Girls and Guys were introducing each other but there was one girl sitting silently so Sanskar thought to talk to her. He went towards her and said
(Sanskar) “Hi, my name is Sanskar, Sanskar Maheshwari. May I know your name?”
(Girl) “Why do you need to know my name?”
(Sanskar) “Come on. We are going to be classmates for two years. We cannot be strangers right?”
(Girl) “Oh really.I thought you hate me because I hurt your ego.”
(Sanskar) “Excuse me I do not even know you, how can you hurt my ego.”
(Girl) “Okay so let me introduce myself. I am Witch No.1. Hope that is enough to find out who I am”
Seeing the insult of Sanskar, Kavita was irked but Sahil asked her to keep quiet and not to interfere.
(Sanskar) “Oh so you are Ms. Swara Bose, the topper. Nice to meet you Ms.Witch.”
(Swara) “Nice to meet you to Mr. Maheshwari. It’s going to be fun to take you down in the class.”
(Sanskar) “Dream about Ms. Witch. I may have come fourth in the overall ranking but be ready for competition.”
(Swara) “Bring it on Mr.Showoff. Let’s see if you can beat me (Swara said with a smirk)”
(Sanskar) “Totally”
After Swasan talk, both of them sat in their respective places as the classes were about to begin and they were so ready to eat each other’s head. Today was just introductory class where the seniors had given them a walkthrough of what they could expect from the course and other stuffs. The seniors made each and every junior to talk about themselves and their talents.
Swasan were shocked to know that both of their interest was in music. Swara was irritated as she thought she would have to see Sanskar’s face again even in the extra activities class. Same was with Sanskar. He didn’t want to face Swara again as he knew they would either end up in sarcastic decision or shouting at each other. Music was the only thing that would give him peace, but his peace was taken as Swara would also be there in that class. Sanskar was sad as Kavita and Sahil would not be with him as they had no interest in Music. They just liked to listen to music and nothing beyond that. Later swasan gave glare to each other and separated their ways. The teachers hadn’t come to the class as it was just introductory.
Sanskar had walked out with his friends to leave for home, whereas Swara went to the Admin office and later to the Student council just to see if there was a part time job available. To her luck it was available and she would also get a decent sum of $200 every week. She was very happy as all the expenses would be covered by the part time job.

Hope you guys are enjoying….. It’s a very big update… Love you all…. I am recovering slowly. My Skin had to be scraped of as Pus was forming.. Now again skin is coming on the wounds… Hope to recover soon..
