Shekhar’s house

Sharmishtha: (running hastily) Shona! Have you kept your mobile charger? And what about first aid box I have prepared for you?
Swara: (in calm voice) Maaa…. I have kept everything and now will you please stop panicking. Sit for some time, you are running since morning. Why are you behaving as if I am a kid going to a boarding school for first time?
Sharmishtha: (giving an angry glare) Shona! … you won’t understand now, once you will have your own kids then you will get to know that how a mother feels.
Swara shook her head in disbelief and glanced at the wall clock. Only 30 minutes were left to 3. She wanted the time to stand still but very well knows that it is not going to be.
Swara: (anxiously) Ma… Ashu is still out? I hope he didn’t forget about my leaving time.
Sharmishtha: (smiles) don’t worry dear…. He can’t forget that…. He must be coming.

Sanjeet’s house

Bushra was ranting on Sanjeet “I told you we will get late but you were busy with your client. Now see it is already 2:30, when we will reach there? Can’t you leave your clients for one day?”
Sanjeet who was listening to his wife patiently till now finally spoke “dear we won’t be late I promise you will meet swara before she leaves.”
Bushra: (sadly) I wanted to spend some time with her but now it seems next to impossible. It is all because of you, can’t you postpone your work for a day?
Sanjeet: (patting her face) Bushra dear she is not leaving this country… she will be here only in Bhopal… only about 270 km away from us. It is only 3hrs journey from here to Bhopal. So please stop behaving like this. And about my work…. You know very well I am a complete professional, I can’t break my prior commitments, no matter even if I wish to do so.
She gave an angry glare to her husband who was giving a victory smile to her. Avoiding further argument he held her hand and moved out of the house. They sat in the car and drove off.

3:00 pm, Shekhar’s house

Swara moved towards the door hearing door bell. She opened the door just to get a shock. Not even in her bad dreams she was expecting this man standing in front of him. She was looking at him in astonishment with wide eyes, not able to believe what she was seeing is real or dream.
Swara: (blurt out in shock) YOU!!!
Sanskar: (raising his brow) is this the way to treat your visitor, Miss Bose?
Realizing that she was blocking his way for so long, making him confused with the weird expressions on her face, she moved a little and composed herself.
Swara: (embarrassed) M sorry… please come in
Yeah…. It was Sanskar who came to pick her up after his meeting. As Sanjeet told him about her mother’s concern towards her daughter, he decided to meet her personally and assure her about Swara’s well being. But Swara wasn’t expecting his arrival… she thought a driver will come to pick her up. He smiled on her behavior and moved in.
Swara: (softly) I am all ready just let me bring my bag from upstairs….
He interrupted “Miss Bose I want to meet your mother”. Another shock for Swara “Why he wants to meet Ma? If he will talk with ma the way he talks with me, I am afraid she will never allow me to go with him” she thought. Sanskar noticed that she wasn’t looking happy with his idea.
Sanskar: (smirks) don’t worry Miss Bose… I am not going to ask for your hand.
Swara little embarrassed and little irritated with his words. “How can someone has such a bad sense of humor” she thought and was about to speak when someone interrupted
“Shona!” her mother’s voice made them both to turn around. Descending the stairs she came up to her and looked at her daughter questionably, surprised with the presence of an unknown visitor.
Swara 🙁 looking at her mother) Ma… this is Mr. Maheshwari… he wanted to meet you.
Sharmishtha gave a warm smile to him and requested him politely to have a seat. Taking a seat in front of him she looked at Swara who had an unknown fear on her face.
Sharmishtha: (smile) Shona! Why don’t you make some coffee for Mr. Maheshwari, meanwhile he can talk to me.
Sanskar: (politely) Mrs. Bose…. No need of it.
Sharmishtha: My daughter makes really awesome coffee… and I am sure you will thank me after tasting it.
He smiled in acceptance and Swara unwillingly left to kitchen. She wanted to witness their conversation as she was afraid of the outcome. She knew if her mother finds anything dissatisfactory, it won’t take long for her to change her decision. Whereas, on the other hand Sharmishtha wanted to talk to him in private.
Sharmishtha: (little worried) Mr. Maheshwari I am glad that you came…. I really wanted to talk to you. I may sound dramatic to you but Mr. Maheshwari My Shona is very innocent and pure…she is not familiar with the real world… I am afraid people might take her advantage… so please take care of her… now my daughter is your responsibility.
Sanskar: (serious tone) Mrs. Bose I can understand your situation as I am also a father of a daughter. It is not at all easy to send your daughter away to an unknown place. But I can assure you that she will be safe at my place…. And her safety is now my responsibility.
The honesty in his eyes gave an assurance to Sharmishtha that in her absence she can count on him with her daughter. She sighed in relief “thank you beta, you don’t know how restless I was but now I can sleep peacefully”
Sanskar: (smiles) you don’t need to thank me for that….and ha please call me Sanskar, it’s a nice name I believe, though it doesn’t suits me sometimes.
They laugh looking at each other whereas Swara who was standing at the kitchen door holding the tray of coffee was dazed to witness this scene. Hearing her footsteps Sharmishtha turned towards Swara with a smiling face “here is my Princess, come”. Swara was little uncomfortable with her mother’s pampering in front of Sanskar. She looked at him and found him staring her with his dark brown eyes. Avoiding his eyes she placed the tray on table.
Sanskar 🙁 sipping coffee) well you were right Mrs. Bose… coffee is really awesome. Fortunately I said yes otherwise surely am going to regret.
Swara was confused whether he is genuinely praising her or it is just his sarcastic comment.

Sanskar: (looking at his watch) I think it’s time to leave now Miss Bose.
Swara silently nodded and looked at her mother with sad eyes. The moment finally came when she has to leave her house. With teary eyes she moved upstairs to her room. Sharmishtha knew it wasn’t easy for her daughter to go away no matter how strong she pretends to be. Sharmishtha looked at Sanskar to excuse herself and moved upstairs following Swara.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Sanskar was busy in texting some important details to his PA Prateek on his mobile when he got disturbed by a sudden sound at the door. He turned around and saw a boy who barged into the room like a rocket, all soaked in sweat and mud. Sanskar recognized him as Swara’s brother.

“Maaa…..where is Shona di? Is she left? Ashwin shouted looking here and there oblivious of Sanskar’s presence. It was then he noticed a man sitting on the couch, he seemed familiar to him. It took him no time to realize that he saw his picture on internet and it was none other than “The Sanskar Maheshwari”. His eyes got widened, expressions changed….looking at the man in front of him with disbelief. Sanskar was observing his every small expression silently.

“YOU!!!” Ashwin shouted in bewilderment looking at Sanskar.

Sanskar was little surprised with his behavior but then it reminds him something and he recalled how she reacted on seeing him at her door a while ago. Shaking his head in disbelief he murmured “Both brother and sister are same”. Before Sanskar could say anything to him, he ran away from there.
Ashwin has spent his whole last week on internet only in search of Sanskar, the going to be boss of his sister and then he came across that he wasn’t active on any social networking site, how boring he thought. Finally he was able to fetch some information along with his pictures on the official site of his company… he showed the picture to Swara just to confirm that he is the same whom she met. Looking at that he stated “He is handsome but apparels are really boring”.

In Swara’s room

Sharmishtha was holding Swara in her embrace silently trying to pacify her daughter and also herself. After a long moment of soothing silence she spoke

Sharmishtha: (caressing Swara’s hair) Shona… if you don’t want to go then tell me, we can still say a no.
Swara: (whipping her tears) No ma… I am fine, it’s just that I will miss you and Ashu.
Sharmishtha: (smiled through her tears) I know you are my brave daughter and we will miss you too…. That’s why I don’t want you to do this job.
Swara: (holding her mother’s hands) Ma it is just a matter of few days…. Once I will get a good job here in Indore, I will leave this job…. I can’t stay away from you and Ashu for long.
Sharmishtha: (took a deep sigh) well after talking to Sanskar I am little relaxed now …. He is a nice man and he assured me that he will take care of you.
Swara was silently listening to her mother, noticing how casually she was calling him by his name… she can’t tell her how she feels about him and how was her first encounter with him… so it was better for her to be mum.
Keeping her stuff in a hand bag Sharmishtha looked toward Swara and said “Shona…. Don’t you think he is too young to have a school going kid?”
She looked at her mother and recalled that her reaction was also the same when she saw him for the first time.
Swara: (in casual tone) maybe he got married early…. That is none of our concern.
Sharmishtha: (passing her handbag) Yeah…. You are right “that is none of our concern”.

Swara smiled at her and peeped outside the window “Ma where is Ashu? It is time for me to leave and he is still not here” she said sadly looking at her mother.
Before Sharmishtha could reply, they smiled hearing an acquainted voice from outside the room, calling them loudly.

Ashwin: maaaaa…… Shona diiiiii

He barged inside the room and about to hug Swara but his mother stopped him by saying “look at you, you bathe in mud or what?” go and get change. But Swara came up to him and hugged him, ignoring her mother’s words.

Swara: (parted herself from him) where were you? I thought you forgot about me.
Ashwin: (innocently) No di…. How can I forget? My friends wanted me to finish the game…. I requested them to leave but they were so reluctant…. So, got late.

Swara smiled at him and hugged him again, he reciprocated the hug with same intensity. They remained like that for some time expressing their love towards each other silently.
