Chapter 46
Living room, Maheshwari Mansion
With disappointed face Siya and Ashwin were sitting in a corner of the room. Much to their dismay Laksh and Ragini backed out from the plan due to the unexpected arrival of one of their close friend. The kids who were all excited and cheerful few hours ago, were sad and upset now. Swara along with Annapurna and Sharmishtha were trying to pacify them…
Annapurna: fine, if you both are so willing to visit the place, driver will take you and Swara there…
Siya: (angrily) No, chachu promised to take us there but he cheated…
Swara: Siya, it’s not cheating…. What could he do if his friend wants to meet him, after all he came all far just to see him and Ragini….
Siya: (sadly) what about our outing?
Swara: we three can go there, I promise we will have lots of fun….
Siya: I wish dad could come….
“Wish granted princess” Sanskar said entering the hall. His unannounced arrival surprised everyone…
Annapurna: (puzzled) you said you have an important meeting then how come you are here?
Sanskar: Mom, the client couldn’t make it today due to some personal reasons so meeting postponed
Siya: (squealed) hurray, now dad will come with us…
All were happy with his arrival except one. Swara’s face turned pale when Siya gleefully announced about Sanskar accompanying them.
Swara: (horrified) No, he can’t…..
“Shona!!” Sharmishtha said in astonishment seeing Swara’s strange reaction
Swara: (nervously) I mean he must not be able to put in so much time for this, because the sight is far from here and it will almost take entire day…
Sanskar smirked as she finished with her lame excuse. He was as desperate to spend time with her as she was not…
Sanskar: (staring her) don’t worry Swara, I can delay all my work for my loved ones, their happiness comes first for me….
She gave him a plastered smile knowing how eloquently he teased her without anyone’s notice
“Now happy” Sharmishtha said looking at the trio….

Outside the Mansion
“Get in Swara, we are getting late” his voice broke her trance. She was standing near the car door, outside the mansion for last 5 minutes, unhappy with the idea of sitting in front with him. She resisted a lot but couldn’t win over Ashwin and Siya who were adamant to sit together at back, left with no choice she moved in front. With an upset face she hopped in, Sanskar smiled noticing her frowning face… as soon as the journey started, Siya and Ashwin indulged in their talks, continuously discussing about their plans for the entire day. Whereas Sanskar was stealing her glance in between while she was staring outside blankly, she was aware of his gaze on her…
“Concentrate on the road” she said annoyingly, giving a deadly glare to him. A teasing grin appeared on his lips which irked her more and she quickly averted her gaze… they silently drove for another 15 to 20 minutes, only Siya and Ashwin’s chatter were echoing in the car…. He wanted her to talk but she was reluctant to speak anything. To kill the silence he turned on the radio, on hearing music she turned to look at him and then again retreated….
“Thank god he got little sensible to switch on the music, at least it will help me to stay calm” she thought and silently started enjoying the music, unknowingly humming in between her favorites… this made Sanskar to smile…. Finally there was no more awkward silence between them. Later RJ announced next song, she suddenly moved her hand to change the channel but before she could he held her hand…
“Don’t, I love this song, this is apt for our situation” he said staring her, she quickly yanked her hand from his grip and turned to other side, song played…

At Upper lake
The lake was massive, built beautifully across the Kolans river, the enticing and vast water body it was. Within the vicinity of lake was an attractive royal garden making the surrounding more scenic, serenaded by a cool breeze, the place was an absolute delight for a rendezvous….. not only the kids but Swara was also equally excited to see the place….
Sanskar: So guys, we are here at our destination…
“This is so beautiful” Swara said while lost in the surrounding…. He smiled at her astonished face…
“Dad, let’s do boating” Siya shouted cheerfully
Sanskar: (holding her hand) Siya, we will do everything but you have to promise me, you won’t rum here and there ok, just be with us and same goes to you Ashwin…
Kids nodded to him with a smile…Swara noticed few men little far from there, keeping a check on them…
Swara: (looking at Sanskar) who are they?
Sanskar: bodyguards, I don’t want to take any risk….
After that horrible incident with Swara, he became more alert and protective. Since the man who shot Swara has not yet revealed the name of real culprit, there was threat hovering around….
Sanskar: (looking at her confused face) don’t worry, they won’t disturb….

Evening, Guest room, Maheshwari Mansion
Annapurna: (hesitantly) Sharmishtha ji, since many days I am trying to say something to you but I don’t know how will you react?
Sharmishtha: Is it about Shona and Sanskar?
Annapurna surprised to hear her
Sharmishtha: (smiles) I know Annapurna ji there is something between them, something deep…. Might be love…..
Annapurna: I can’t say about Swara but Sanskar loves her, he himself told us…
Sharmishtha: (happily) is it so?
Annapurna nodded to her with a smile….
Sharmishtha: I am so happy and I know Shona is little shy in all these things from her school days but surely he has feeling for Sanskar, I have seen this….
Annapurna: So, you are ok with this relation? I mean do you know about Siya and San….
Sharmishtha interjected “I know everything and believe me it only raised his respect in my eyes, I will be more than happier if Sanskar comes in Shona’s life”
Annapurna: (with teary eyes) it’s a great relief, you don’t know Sharmishtha ji how happy I am with your acceptance….. now, just pray soon they unite….
“They will” Sharmishtha said with an assured smile…

At Upper lake
The sun was about to set, it was a fun day for Siya and Ashwin but for Swara and Sanskar the day was more of tug and war than a pleasing outing. He keeps on instigating her and she retaliated equally. Finally they moved towards the lake side restaurant to grab a good meal. They made themselves comfortable at the corner table, which he booked in the morning when they reached here… the restaurant was lavish with warm and hospitable ambiance. Siya and Ashwin curiously indulged in deciding their order, taking the menu card from the table…. Swara simply followed their suit. They ate their dinner silently, concentrating on food due to prolong starving…
Sanskar: Order your desserts quickly, we are getting late….
Siya: (looking at Ashwin and Swara) we will have ice creams
“As expected, kid’s choice” Sanskar said shaking his head……
Swara: (annoyed) is it written anywhere that ice-creams are meant for kids only, if you don’t like it that doesn’t mean no body will…
He smirked as she sarcastically made that comment….
Ashwin: (anxiously) Mr. Maheshwari I have heard there are many museums in Bhopal, our history teacher mentioned it once….
Sanskar: yeah, you are right, there are many…. Birla museum, state museum, Indira Gandhi museum and the list is never ending, do you wanna go there?
Ashwin: could we?
Sanskar: off course, why not…. I have taken Siya to Birla museum once but she didn’t like it much…
Siya: it was so boring…..
Sanskar: museums are for intellectual people like we boys not for blunt girls….
Swara: well for your kind information Mr. Maheshwari one of the museums you mentioned a while ago is on the name of a woman. Remember Indira Gandhi museum, I don’t think I need to give you her introduction…. So don’t ever call girls blunt
Sanskar shook his head in disbelief on hearing her words, he was just teasing her and she came back with a bang…
Sanskar: (looking at Ashwin) Ashwin is your Sister this ferocious from childhood?
Ashwin: (giggling) yeah, she is…. You know what when she was in her 12th standard a boy of her class proposed her and she slapped him so hard that his cheek remained swollen for a week….
Sanskar gave a little laugh hearing her violent school story…. She was annoyed
“Ashu!!” she angrily called out his name
Ashwin: (innocently) what!! I am just telling him how brave you are since childhood
Sanskar: (whispering to her) have you vowed to trouble the person who mistakenly falls for you?
She gave him a displeased look, holding Siya’s hand she moved out of the restaurant….
Sanskar: (paying the bill) come on Ashwin, let’s go before your sister again gets into her action mode…..

Night, on the highway
Siya and Ashwin both got into deep sleep as they hopped in the car. The day was tiring for them, including lots of physical activity. There was pin drop silence between Swara and Sanskar…. She didn’t want to talk and he didn’t know what to talk, bizarre situation indeed… finally he decided to initiate…
Sanskar: (softly) So, how was the day?
Swara: good, but could be awesome if somehow we managed to stick to our original plan, with Laksh and Ragini….
Sanskar knew she was unhappy with his presence, trying to abstain herself from his closeness….
Sanskar: (serious tone) Swara, if you keep your ego aside then every moment will be awesome
Swara: (irritated) it’s not my ego…
Sanskar: (looking at her) then what, stubbornness!!
Swara: (angrily) there is no point in explaining to you anything….. I am tired, let me sleep
Sanskar looked at her for few seconds and then pulled her close to him, she landed on his chest…
Swara: (scared) what the hell are you doing?? For god sake concentrate on the road, at least think about Siya and Ashwin, they might wake up….
Sanskar: (smirk) you said you are tired and wants to sleep, then sleep I will not disturb but the condition is that you have to sleep like this, leaning on my chest
Jolted by his words Swara looked at him with absolute annoyance….
Swara: (yelled) are you mad? I will not….
He interjected “Then stay awake and talk to me”
He was waiting for her reply, she knew he was invincible when he decided on something, helplessly she nodded… releasing her slowly he said with a smile “that’s like my girl”
