Chapter 37

Sanskar’s POV

I was staring the girl who had taken my heart away, she was sleeping peacefully, unaware of the turmoil I was going through….. “Love” entirely unfamiliar feeling to me, though I had few crushes at school and then later in college however I was never serious…. But this feeling was totally different, bizarre sometimes, warm yet cold, beautiful yet scary…. It’s true that love happens at most unexpected time and with most unexpected person, now I believe it…. Never in my bad dreams had I ever thought to fall in love and especially with a girl like her. She came as an intruder in my peaceful life and turned out to be a panacea….. I don’t know when I fell for her but I realized it when she got shot in front of my eyes, I felt like somebody stabbed me…. the thought of loosing her forever made myself tremble. At that moment all I wanted to be with her forever. Her presence around me or precisely with me was the most precious thing I could ever posses…. And then Adarsh bhai, he helped me to confess it to Laksh and moreover to my own self. But now I had to embattle myself for a new mission, how I am gonna confess it to you Swara? As much as I know you, it won’t be easy for me but anyways I love challenges and I was determined to prove myself worthy of your love and eventually make you mine.
“Sanskar you have landed yourself in a great trouble” he murmured reclining on the couch. After an hour Swara slowly opened her eyes and found him staring at her…
Swara: when did you come?
Sanskar: about couple of hours ago….. do you need anything?
Swara: No…
Sanskar: Swara I want to talk to you
Swara: hmmm tell me
Sanskar: Mr. Das and I was thinking about your mother, she should be informed about this
Swara: (panicked) No, No… you can’t tell her, she will get worried and will not be able to handle it
Sanskar: Swara, she is your mother and she has full right to know about your well being…. Last time I didn’t said anything because it was just a flu though I wasn’t convinced but still I agreed. This time it’s a serious matter and we can’t hide this from her.
Swara: (with pleading eyes) please…. Ashu’s mid- terms are going on and if they get to know about this, it will disturb everything for them
Sanskar: you don’t worry about that, we have discussed about everything, Ashu wouldn’t get to know about this. Mr. Das and his wife are going back tomorrow so your brother can stay with them and I will send my driver to bring your mother here
Swara: but…
Sanskar: (interrupted) it’s final, now no more words
He could make out from her face that she wasn’t happy with the idea but he had to do it after all Sharmishtha is her mother and he could understand how possessive parents are about their kids…

Next day

Hospital, Swara’s room

Sanjeet: princess, looking better now….
Swara: yeah, I am
Bushra: why wouldn’t, after all she got such a good caretaker
She said looking at Sanskar, both looked at each other with embarrassment
Swara: are you leaving?
Sanjeet: yes dear, just wanted to see you before leaving
Swara: (worried) uncle…
Sanjeet: (interrupting her) I know dear, don’t worry about Sharmishtha… I will handle her, you just take care
As they left, nurse came with Swara’s lunch “mam your lunch” she said placing the trolley near her bed before she could arrange the food for her he interrupted…
Sanskar: leave it, I will manage
Giving a warm smile she stepped out of the room silently, Sanskar arranged the bowls which precisely contained soup and khichri
Swara: (scanning the food) oh God! Are they planning to kill me?
Sanskar: (sternly) what were you expecting? 5 star menu in hospital….
Swara: (annoyed) if not that then at least something better than this
Sanskar: this is good for your health, so just have it quietly?
Helplessly she moved her hand to pick a spoon but before she could he stopped her
Sanskar: (angrily) don’t you remember what doctor said!!! You can’t use your right hand
Swara: (annoyed) So, how I am gonna eat?? Do you think I am an ambidextrous (able to use both hand equally)?
Sanskar: (smiles) I know you are not….
Swara: (confused) then!!!
Sanskar: now eat, like this…..
He raised his hand to feed her, she was shocked….. he could sense her bewilderment but still he was waiting impatiently holding a spoon full of soup
Sanskar: Swara…. do you want me to hold this for you forever!!
Swara: (hesitant) No, actually I can….
Sanskar: (smirks) Now don’t say you can manage because this time you can’t…
Helplessly she followed his instruction like a puppet

Evening, Maheshwari Mansion

Annapurna: Ragini, you are going to hospital na, tie this sacred thread to her, priest of Shiv temple gave me this
Ragini: (smiles) ok mom….
Annapurna: Anand, bring that basket from kitchen…. I have kept some fruit juices for Swara…..
Siya: dadi ma, I also want to go….
Annapurna: dear not today, you can go tomorrow with your dad ok…
Siya: (pouting) ok, but then I will spend my whole day with her
Annapurna: (smiles) as you wish my Laddoo…
“Ok mom, I am leaving” Ragini said waving a hand to her

Night, at Hospital

Swara: thank you so much Ragini, you are a real savior…. Finally you send Mr. Maheshwari home
Ragini: (confused) what??
Swara: you won’t believe, he was behaving like a Hitler…. “Swara don’t move your hand” “Swara finish your food” “Swara don’t do this, don’t do that…..” I was feeling so suffocated…
“Oh God! How they gonna get along together, poor Sanskar he doesn’t know how to show his love…..” Ragini thought
Ragini: but Swara he cares a lot for you…. you know he hasn’t slept for last two days
Swara recalled when she opened her eyes he was there with her and from then he had been in the hospital, even skipped the office…. No doubt he was deeply concerned for her.
Swara: yeah you are right…. May be because he is guilty, although it wasn’t his fault at all but still I could see the traces of guilt in his eyes…
Ragini: may be guilt or may be something else….
Swara: (confused) something else!!!
Ragini: yes…
Swara: what something else?
Ragini: how would I know Swara, ask him….
Ragini turned to other side to hide her smirk while Swara looked at her with baffled eyes…..

Next morning, Swara’s room

“Shona di” Siya shouted in excitement as she barged in Swara’s room. A broad smile appeared on Swara’s face looking at her favorite companion….
Siya: good morning di…. This is for you
She passed a bouquet to her, it was a beautiful bunch of pink roses
Swara: thank you so much dear, these are so beautiful….. you know I love roses
Siya: dad selected this for you…
Swara turned towards Sanskar and gave him a baffled look…
Sanskar: what!!!
Swara: I never thought you could have such good taste precisely in flowers
Sanskar: I don’t know why you have so many misconceptions about me….
Swara: (smiles) not many but few….
Siya: (cheerfully) dad told me you are going to come home tomorrow, is it true?
Swara nodded to her with a relieved smile on her face, Siya clapped in excitement….. Sanskar observing them silently, it was a beautiful sight for him to watch them like that, one was the reason for his living and other who taught him to live for self…..
Siya: I have brought something for you…
Swara: (puzzled) what?
Siya: (removing something from her pocket) a band, it’s a get well soon band… my friend Tina she told me about this. Last year when her father got ill she tied the same band to him and he recovered very soon, so I want to tie this to you, can I?
Swara: (smiles) off course dear…
Swara happily raised her hand to Siya and she perfectly tied that band on her wrist with her little hands.
