Recap: Sanskar annoyed with Swara, Swara sing for Siya and all……
Chapter 14
Days were passing for Swara in Maheshwari mansion and with each passing day her bond with Siya was becoming stronger….. She also found two good friends as Laksh and Ragini….. She even mingled well with the elders of the house but that man was still an unsolved puzzle for her… “The Sanskar Maheshwari”. It was difficult for her to understand him…. Sometimes he was soft and at other arrogant, rude and short tempered.

Siya’s Room……
Siya: (panicked) Shona di see… lizard on your jeans….
Swara little scared looked at her thighs and there she saw a lizard… she didn’t move remain like a statue but then she notice something weird with that lizard it wasn’t moving at all… she turned to Siya and noticed her mischievous smile…. She got that it was her prank… she picked that fake lizard from its tail and brought it in front of Siya….
Swara: (fake anger) Siya… you did this?
Siya: (innocently) No…. I didn’t… I was reading my lesson, I don’t know…
She kept on giving clarification to Swara to prove her innocence but Swara eyes were somewhere else…
Swara: (scary face) Siya…. Be carefully there is a real one on your book
As soon Siya heard her, she threw her book and jumped from there… screaming out of fear…
Siya: (hell scared) Where is it?
Swara burst into laughing…. Siya was confused with her sudden behavior but then that little monster got that she had been fell in her own trap….
Siya: (pouting) Shona di you fooled me…. that’s not fair
Swara: (still laughing) so dear how was my prank? Have you enjoyed?
Siya: (disappointed) NO…. stop laughing on me
Swara: oh my baby….. come here (she hugged her)
Their special fun moments got disturbed by a call on Swara’s phone. It was her mother…. She quickly picked her call and chatted for sometime… Ashwin told her excitingly that he is going to Nainital tomorrow on a school tour for a week…. Swara was smiling at his excitement…..They talked for some time like that before hanging up…..
Siya looking at Swara’s wallpaper on phone…. “Your mother is pretty just like you” she stated
(she had her family picture as wallpaper)
Swara: (smiles) Dear she is not like me… I am like her… and yeah she is pretty more than me and the way you look I am sure your mother must be very pretty
The changed expression of Siya’s face made her realize what she said… but it was late damage was already done…..
Siya: I don’t know… I have never seen my mother… not even her picture
Swara was astounded with her confession…. How Siya could know nothing about her mother, she thought. Then she realized that the day she came here, nobody ever talked about Siya’s mother…. Even she didn’t have any of her picture in her room whereas there were lots of pictures of hers with her father… this was strange, she thought.
Swara: (softly) you didn’t ask your father ever…
Siya: (sadly) I asked once but he told me that right now I am very young to know about this…. he promised me to tell when time will come…. And I never argue with Dad
Swara: (with a smile) I know he will tell you…. because he loves you a lot
Siya: (proud smile) I know and I love him too…. He is the best dad
Swara knew that there was something unusual in the story but she couldn’t ask anybody as it wasn’t good to intrude in her boss’s personal life, she thought.

Night time, Sanskar’s study
Knock on his door…..
Sanskar: (without turning) come in……….
Swara slowly stepped inside….
Sanskar: (looking at her) Yes Miss Bose…. What do you want?
Swara: (little hesitant) I need a favour from you…..
Sanskar: (smiles) So, finally you need my help…strange… how can I help you?
She understood his sarcasm that he is indirectly mentioning about the store room incident but she ignored
Swara: actually Annapurna aunty told me that you are going to Indore for some official work?
Sanskar: yes… so…
Swara: (passing an envelope to him) can you please send this to my mother?
Sanskar: (looking at the envelope) what’s this?
Swara: (not willing to tell him) something for Ma….
Sanskar smirks knowing her unwillingness about disclosing the secret of her envelope…
Sanskar: (giving a stern look) Miss Bose…. Since now you are giving me this responsibility…. I must know what’s inside… what if it get misplaced
Swara: I trust you… you won’t
Sanskar: (to himself) well she never going to tell you Sanskar…. Don’t waste your time…
Swara with hopeful eyes looking at Sanskar…..
“Ok Miss Bose…. It will safely reach your mother…. Anything else” he said
“No…. and Thank you” and then she left
He turned that envelope few times to guess what it could be but couldn’t… then he shook his head keeping it aside

Next morning, living area, Maheshwari mansion
Laksh: (looking at Sanskar) Bhai all ready for Indore?
Sanskar: (checking some files) yeah… almost Lucky
Laksh: bhai I am coming with you…. please drop me at office
Sanskar: ok….by the way where is Siya? Lucky have you seen her?
Before Laksh could answer a shrilling voice brought a smile to them….. Siya was there with Swara
“Dad”
Laksh: (smirks) think of devil and devil is there….
Siya: (annoyed) Chachu…. I am not devil….. Why you always irritate me?
Laksh: (playfully) because it makes my day….
Siya: (looking at Sanskar) Dad….. see chachu
Sanskar: (glaring Laksh) Lucky stop irritating my princess….
Swara was silently smiling at their banter….
Sanskar: (looking at his watch) come on we are getting late…. Princess take care of yourself and do your studies properly…. I don’t want any complains ok….. I will be back soon…
Siya: (hugging him) I promise I will be a good girl…..
“That’s Good” Sanskar caressed her cheek
Annapurna: Sanskar, Laksh come breakfast is ready
“Mom sorry, we are getting late” Sanskar spoke arranging his files while Annapurna shook her head in disappointment. Hastily they drove off…. Swara took a big sigh of relief that at least for few days she can live without his fear and restrictions…..

Shekhar’s house
Sanskar was standing at Swara’s house… ringing the door bell. It’s been 3 days Sanskar came to Indore and today he had to go back but before that he came to hand over Swara’s parcel to her mother. Sharmishtha was busy in reading morning newspaper when she heard the door bell…..
Sharmishtha: (surprised) Sanskar beta…. You? Come inside…..
She gave a welcoming smile to him and he reciprocated…..
Sanskar: (moving to couch) well I came here on Tuesday for some official work…. Now going back….. Actually I came here to give you this (passing her the envelope), Swara gave this for you
Sharmishtha: (confused) we talked last night but she didn’t tell me anything….
Sanskar: (smiles) May be have some surprise for you…
Sharmishtha: yeah may be…. But then you should have sent someone why you troubled yourself…
Sanskar: it’s nothing like that…. Can’t I come to see you Mrs. Bose…. Actually I was terribly missing your home made coffee
Sharmishtha: (a wide smile) well off course you can come… any time…. and about coffee, my coffee specialist is in your house but I will try my best…. But do me a favour beta please call me aunty if you don’t mind, I will feel good
He nodded to her request while she left for kitchen after few seconds she came back with two cups of coffee….
Sharmishtha: (passing him a cup) this is for you…
She took that envelop and opened it, there was a cheque of Rs. 60, 000 along with a letter. Sanskar was noticing her annoyed expression… “Any problem Mrs. Bose? I mean aunty”
Sharmishtha: (sadly) actually she send a letter for me and unfortunately a day before I broke my glasses… so I can’t read…. Ashu is also not here, he will come on next Tuesday…
She was trying to get some glimpse of the words with narrowed eyes but couldn’t. He could see the disappointment and restlessness on her face…. She eagerly wanted to read that letter…
Sharmishtha: (hesitantly) Sanskar… ammm I know I may sound weird to you but if you don’t mind can you please read this for me?
Sanskar: (looking at her helpless face) yeah sure….
He took that letter and started reading
“Hey Ma, since you are reading this letter I hope you got the cheque… Ma this is my first earning, my very first salary and I wanted to give it to you…. I know it wasn’t the way we expected but still it is all my hard work… I wish baba would have been here with us… he must be very happy… but where ever he is he would be happy that now I became independent the way he wanted me to be…. Now Ma please stop crying…. Ma I want you to do something…please hire a private cab for Ashu…. He is not use to of buses and all, though he will never complain but I know he is suffering and I didn’t want him to suffer at least I can do this much for him…. You don’t worry about the money… I am earning now and soon I will get a better job… so together we will manage…. I didn’t tell you anything on phone because I want to surprise you… hope you are happy…..

Sharmishtha: (wiping her tears) pagal hai ye ladki (this girl is mad)
Sanskar was speechless…. He could feel the pain in
side her…. “How she could be so innocent and so mature at the same time? He thought, the only word came to him for her was “A little brave girl”.

Sanskar was on the way back to Bhopal…. He was thinking about her words, her letter…. He came back from her thoughts with a beep of his mobile…. “A whatsapp message on his mobile”. As soon as he checked a smile crept on his face…. Laksh has sent a picture of Swara and Siya slept together while watching TV…. “See bhai your daughter is not at all missing you, she got a better company” laksh has messaged with that… he moved his hand on Siya’s face…. And then he did something unexpected, he caressed Swara’s face…. With care and concern in his eyes…. Something struck him… he quickly dialed a number….
Sanskar: Prateek just give increment to Miss Bose…
Prateek: (confused) ok sir… but how much?
Sanskar: 75 percent….
Prateek: (puzzled) what sir!!… it’s just one and a half month to her and according to our policy she should be at least a year employee to get this increment…
Sanskar: (little louder) Prateek I didn’t called you to narrate me our policies… just do what I said….
Prateek: ok sir….
He had a satisfaction on his face ignorant of the fact that she had started affecting him and soon she was going to be an intruder in his peace zone……
