Episode 8

7 days have passed… Ragini has learnt how to use wand properly and some spells as well… Infact many… She was a quick learner and after all she was being trained by the Charms Professor of Heacte  Shekhar Gadodia himself…

After training…

Shekhar “Ragu… You have learnt all the important spells for now… You can use them to protect yourself and others… Rest will be taught to you professionally in the college…”

Ragini “Thanks Dad… Daddy… Where is Dadi??”

Shekhar “At college… Why??”

Ragini “Dad… I can’t wait now… There is still a whole week left… Can I please visit college once? Plz plz plz… I want to…”

Swara looks on suspiciously at her…

Shekhar “Ok go… But you can’t go alone… Someone who is known by Hecate must accompany you…”

Ragini “Who works there??”

Shekhar “Naa… Not necessary… You can go with Swara as well… Or any other student who is your senior… But definitely not alone…”

Ragini “But Dad… I want to go now…”

Sharmistha “Shekhar… I am going college… Maa has some work and me too… Plz look after these two… Specially this devil ( Ragini)… Just see that she doesn’t summons anything… I don’t want my crockery broken…”

Ragini “Mom!!!”

Shekhar and Swara giggle… Ragini glares them…

Ragini “Ok I have a surprise for you… I am accompanying you to the college…”

Sharmistha “No.. you are not…”

Ragini “Dad!!”

Shekhar “Take her na… She wants to see the college…”

Sharmistha “No… I know she will do some mischief there and will create problem for me and maa…”

Ragini “No I won’t… I promise on myself…”

Swara was drinking water meanwhile but she starts coughing hearing Ragini promising on herself…

Ragini “What??”

Swara “You just now promised that you won’t do mischief in college…!!”

Ragini “Stop over reacting di… I really want to see the college from inside…”

Sharmistha “Ok… Come but I am warning you…”

Ragini “Ya… I know…”

They both leave leaving Swara in thoughts…

Shekhar “What happened to you??”

Swara “I sense some problems coming in my direction…”

Shekhar “Ragu??”

Swara “I guess so…”

He gulps…

Hecate college of wizarding and witchcraft…

Ragini and Sharmistha are on the entrance door…

Ficus “Hey professor… I.D plz…”

Sharmistha gives him her wand…

Ragini “She works here since long still you want her I.D??”

Ficus “Ms. Junior Gadodia… It’s the rule made by senior Gadodia… I am bound to follow it…”

Ragini “BTW see… What I have… (She shows him her wand) it’s one of those made from your branches… Great na…”

Ficus is surprised… He hands over wand back to Sharmistha and looks at her… Worry visible in his eyes…

Sharmistha “Ragu… Go inside…. I will come…”

Ragini nods and goes…

Ficus “She is—??”

Sharmistha nods “But she knows nothing about it… And I won’t let her Know… V.P Maheshwari has also not told her son… I have decided that my daughter also won’t know it…”

Ficus “But you can’t change her destiny… I told VP Maheshwari also and I am telling you also… They are destined for it… And no one can run away from their destiny…”

Sharmistha goes from there to search Ragini…

Ragini is spellbound seeing the assembly hall… The house points scale and the four house symbols fascinate her…

Sharmistha “What are you seeing?”

Ragini “It’s so amazing Mom!!”

Sharmistha “Of course… Just a week more and you will be coming here every day…”

Ragini “Maa… I will be an Arete  Tenant… It’s speciality is bravery… And I will be the bravest in this college… You know na… Daredevil I am…”

Sharmistha worries hearing her “No Ragu…. You are intelligent as well… You will be in Athena… The house of intelligence…”

Ragini “Why are we arguing Mom… Let VP Maheshwari’s wand decide that… But you know what… I am pretty sure that I will be in Di’s house…”

She was looking up and walking…

Sharmistha “Look down and walk Ragu… You will get bumped into someone… RAGU!!!”

Ragini “Ouch!!! I am so sorry… I didn’t mean to hurt you and I think I am the one who got hurt…”

Annapurna smiles “It’s ok… BTW… I was only able to save your wand… Here it is…”

She helps her get up and forwards her the wand… Just when she notices her wand and observes it carefully…”

Ragini “Ah… I know that it’s fascinating and alluring but Can I have it back please??”

Annapurna comes out of trance and nods… She gives her back her wand…

Ragini “BTW I am Ragini… Ragini Gadodia… Professor Gadodias’ daughter…”

Annapurna looks at Sharmistha who smiles sheepishly and glares Ragini for chattering like that in From of Her…

Annapurna “It’s ok professor nothing to be embarrassed about… She is really sweet… BTW… Annapurna Maheshwari… Vice Principal of this institution…”

Ragini is bewildered… She knew only her name and met for the first time with her and was uttering don’t know what nonsense…

Ragini “I am sorry VP Maheshwari… But you see I can’t help speaking… It is something which characterises me… So please don’t mind my nonsense…”

Annapurna laughs “It’s ok…”

Sharmistha “Sorry VP Maheshwari… Ragini come on… We have to meet Mom…”

Ragini “But Mom I want to see the college… Not Dadi’s office… You go… I will be here…”

Sharmistha “But how will you roam alone… You will be lost… No… You are coming with me…”

Ragini “But Mom–”

Annapurna “It’s ok Professor Gadodia… Anyways I am free now…. I will help her out…”

Ragini “Thank you so much… See Mom… Now you can go…”

Just then she sees some of the ghosts moving and gets fascinated… She thinks something and goes to them…

Sharmistha hesistates “You are not understanding what storm you are willing to keep with you…”

Annapurna “Don’t worry… She can’t be more mischievous than my sons…”

Sharmistha “She is equal to 20 Sanskar Maheshwari…”

Annapurna “But she looks so innocent…”

Sharmistha “But is a devil from inside…”

Just then they see all the ghosts leaning on to her foot as if they are praying her…

A ghost with a cap “Boss… This Richard will always be in your service boss… Just a whistle and me and my whole gang will bow down in your feet…”

While Ragini stands there with attitude rotating her wand like a don…

Annapurna and Sharmistha gulp…

Sharmistha “All the best VP Maheshwari…”

She says and apparates…

Annapurna smiles nervously and thinks “Just now she entered the college and took in charge of the ghosts’ head Richard… Don’t know what else we will witness…”

Annapurna calls out Ragini…

Ragini “Yes Professor”

Annapurna “Let’s go to our cabin… I have to keep these documents there and then we will take a round of Hecate … Till then would you like some cold coffee??”

Ragini “I never refuse food…”

She smiles… They first go to the dining hall…

Annapurna “Two cold coffees with choco ice cream and choco chips…”

Ragini “And a chocolate cigar as well….”

Annapurna laughs “So you know a bit about college…”

Ragini “Of course… Di told me much… And I am so excited to see food coming out of the table…”

Just then two huge cups of cold coffee emerges from the table… Ragini claps out of amazement… Annapurna adores her…

Annapurna thinks “She is just like a child…. Cute innocent and mischievous…”

Ragini reads her mind while making an eye contact with her “Perfect… Mission impression successful… Now my this innocence will help me find out about Mr. Mind Reader… Only she can help me… First I thought of Dadi but no… She will read my mind and I won’t be able to hide anything from her… And I  don’t want to involve her… I have to solve it all alone… Sorry VP Maheshwari… You are so good but I need to know him… So I have to do this… I promise I will apologize to you as soon as I find Mr.Mystery…”

They both walk to Annapurna’s cabin…

An old man’s painting in yogic posture asks for the password…

Annapurna “Come on… This cabin belongs to me…”

Old man shows her a thumbs up and they both enter the cabin…

Ragini giggles “He forgot that you sit here…”

Annapurna laughs “I think age has begun to show the effects on him…”

They both laugh…

Ragini “BTW… I should not but my curiosity!! I can’t help it… What are these documents for..??”

Annapurna “These are your forms… The students who are selected for this batch of Hecate … Means your batch…”

Ragini “I never saw my form… I think Dad filled it on my behalf… Can I please see it now??”

Annapurna takes out her form and gives her…

Ragini sees her form… Her passport size photo on the form is moving… It smiles and winks mischievously…
She giggles seeing it… Annapurna smiles seeing her…

Ragini reads her form and reads a column there ‘ special ability ‘ and it was filled as reads mind…

Ragini’s POV

Bingo… I got the way… The admission forms… These will help me… Yippie…. Mr. Mystery was somewhat of my age… Plus one and two acceptable… He cannot be more than that…. Now you cannot be hidden for long Mr. Mind Reader… Ragini Gadodia is going to find you out…

Ragini gives the form back to Annapurna and notices the cupboard where she kept all the forms…
