Scene 1: Meghna and Naina’s room

Naina, Sharda and Meghna about the Sangeet function which would be held the next day. They were yet to decide the theme of the function and most importantly, the songs.

Naina: Di! What theme do you want to have in your Sangeet Function? We have to prepare accordingly.

Meghna: I don’t know Cheeku. Why don’t you suggest something?

Naina: What about a Bollywood Night theme?

Meghna: Good idea Cheeku! We’ll go ahead with this idea.

Sharda: Ok. So I’ll start preparing, both of you decide on the songs.

Sharda leaves.

Naina: What songs, Di?

Meghna: You give me three songs, I’ll give three songs.

Naina: Ok.

Meghna: What about Sau Aasman, Nashe Si Chadh Gayi and Breakup Song?

Naina: Great! What about Dheere Dheere Se, Gallan Godiyaan and Ishq Karenge?

Meghna: Done. Songs are decided!

Scene 2:

Kunal: I want to go to the Sangeet ceremony!

Nirmala: Don’t be silly! What will you do in the Sangeet, it’s an only girls function.

Kunal: Mom!

Nirmala leaves.

Karan enters.

Karan: What if I help you attend the Sangeet ceremony?

Kunal: You?

Karan: Bhai! I haven’t ever helped you! Let me help you atleast once!

Kunal: I need to get to the Sangeet function without anyone recognizing me!

Karan: Can you do anything for Meghna Bhabhi?

Kunal: Yes!

Karan: Will you dress up in a sari to meet her?

Kunal: Are you serious?

Karan: Yes!

Scene 3: Meghna and Naina’s home

The house was decorated very nicely. There were flashy lights everywhere and posters of famous bollywood stars on all the walls.

Sharda, Kalpana and Asha were welcoming the guests while Vishal and Vaibhav were serving the drinks. Naina and Meghna were getting ready.

Karan and Kunal entered wearing saris and covering their heads.

Sharda: Namaste! I’m sorry but I can’t recognize you!

Kunal and Karan put on a fake accent.

Kunal: I’m your aunt’s brother-in-law’s nephew’s wife’s brother’s daughter!

Karan: And I’m her sister. We don’t believe in showing anyone our faces so I’m sorry but we won’t lift our veil.

Sharda: It’s totally fine. Please come in. By the way what’s your name?

Kunal: Umm…I’m Padmini and h-she is Lakshmi.

Sharda: Welcome!

Kunal and Karan went looking for Meghna and Naina. Kunal was doing this for his love but Karan was doing it only for friendship. He couldn’t even believe that he was doing something so daring just for friendship! That too, for someone he had only met the previous day but had impacted his life and self-esteem in so many ways!

Two ladies pulled Karan and Kunal and made them sit next to them.

All of the ladies started dancing. One ladie stumbled and fell on Kunal and Kunal’s veil fell off!

Sharda: What are you doing here?

Kunal: Um…I…

Kalpana: You came to see Meghna, right!

Sharda: Now, that you’ve been caught, there is no need to go!

Asha: Kunal as your punishment, you should sing a song for our Meghna!

Kunal : Ok!

Naina: Di! You will also sing a song for Jeeju!

Meghna: Done!

Meghna started singing.

Scene 3: Outside Meghna and Naina’s house

Karan was thinking about how he had taken such a huge risk to meet Naina when Naina entered.

Karan: Hi

Naina: Hi

Karan: Excited for Meghna Bhabhi’s wedding?

Naina: Yes! I’m so excited! We have so much work to do! We have to decide on the guest list, decorate the house, go shopping and…

Karan listened to her, enchanted by her bubbliness and chirpy attitude. He could listen to her, go on and on and on without a break. Her energy and positive outlook towards life truly inspired him. He felt he could face all his problems if she was there with him. And it was just a day since he had met her!

Naina: Are you listening?

Karan: Yes! Go on!

Naina: Are…
